I am hatching (a very quick sketch for info) but the hatch lines are going across the ploy line zone.
What happening. I cannot snap to these, but if in put a selection window acorss an of the lines, it will select the hatch.
I dont want to see these and dont want to have to hatch indivual rectangles. Never seen this before.
I cannot see anythign obvious in any of the settings.
Normally i Join lines and fillets to become a polyline and no problems
But sometimes when i Join them it turns them into a Spline which i dont want.
Then i have to convert it into a polyline and it then it adds load of points/grips on the line which i dont want.
Is there a setting that stops the lines converting to a spline
I have a problem in polyline width. when i set polyline width in one drawing shows solid line & in another drawing shows blank lines.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWe are using a file created by another company and making additions to it for Interiors. While working in this file we have added some new layers and have begun to hatch new walls. While hatching some of these wall my boss received a message saying that the file had errors. He saved and closed the file at that point. When he re-opened the file a number of lines were missing from the file.
They appear to be completely random - i.e. parts of chairs are missing but not the whole chair, parts of walls but not whole walls. The things missing were not all on the same layer and were not necessarily items that had been hatched.
Note - we are running 2012 and the files were created in 2007
I have a problem with a File in Autocad.
We have a dynamic block here at work that has a solid hatch in it. It is a simple block which only utilizes a dropdown menu.
This block is a circle with a solid hatch in it. However when I select the block via dropdown menu, the hatch is not solid, it is a bunch of lines originating from the center of the circle.
I have never had this problem before with this block and nothing has changed with the block.
It also works fine when I open up other drawings.
This tells me that there is a problem with the settings of this specific file but I cannot figure out what setting.
I believe the problem occurred because I brought my work home with me and I have different settings on my autocad (both ACAD 2011).
It is no more possible open Hatch Edit dialog with double click on existing hatch. Now, this way opens only Properties
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing with a Polyline filled with Hatch. Also I have that Polyline ObjectId. So using this ployline ObjectId I want to erase the Hatch inside polyline. How I can erase the Hatch.
I'm developing the application using C#.
I am trying to find a command that will hatch the inner edge of a complex closed poly line, rather than hatch the entire area inside the poly line.
When I have simple shapes such as a rectangle I create a smaller rectangle inside the first that is 1' (or whatever I want my hatched area to be) smaller on all sides than the first rectangle. I hatch by selecting the two rectangles; I change the "Associative" hatch property to "No" and then delete the inner rectangle.
My problem now is that I have a complex closed poly line that I would like to hatch the inner perimeter with a set thickness, say 1 foot. Is there an easy way to hatch a inner boundary of a closed poly line or to recreate a scaled down copy of the poly line that is a set distance smaller all around. I hope I have conveyed the question clearly enough.

Somethings are just acting weird now, like my hatching...
All my old hatches that were associative are acting like one seltions like if i hatch a polyline now when i go to select that hatch it now selects the polyline as well.
This never happened before abd the only way to edit it now is to either make it in the properties not associative then i lose my boundary or just to explode it then i a ihave an exploded hatch...before i made it assoc. and i could just edit or select the hatch only i think its an option setting...
I have converted Polyline to Hatch, how do I bring the Object Data from the Polyline to the Hatch as well?

How do you convert a closed Polyline to 2D Polyline? CONVERT does not work in reverse.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a bolt program that draws the thickness of a bolts in elevation as a polyline with a global width, what i need is a lisp to then change this lwpolyline to a hatch, ie if global width is 20 and the polyline is 30 long i need to change this to a 20x30 solid hatch, is it possible to get the the global width and length and convert this to a boundary hatch? I need the same thing done for bolts in plan too as the circle is a lwpolyline also.

Unfortunately the next tool in my workflow doesn't understand 'solids' only polylines (and a few other basic shapes like circles, lines, etc). Is there some way to convert the object in AutoCAD?
I tried the 'boundary' command but when it asks to 'Pick Points' and I click inside the solid, it always gives the error 'Valid hatch boundary not found'.
What am I missing here?
Looking how the best way to hatch out lines, equipment being removed on drawings. is it possible to create a linetype so it would be easy to just follow a line that needs hatching, or create a multiline?

I seem to be having an issue with polylines and a few other things like rectangle, they will only draw in up and down movements and not draw to the left or right.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo the problem I am having is when I try join lines and/or make a polyline. I am trying to model an electron lens and have all the measurement and angles correct but Autocad does not want to allow me to join the lines so that I can make a 3D model for export. When it does allow me to join all the line or make a polyline, the lines are not straight. Granted I have to zoom in to see the deviation in the line but my connecting lines are not orthogonal like they should be. Here is a picture of what I am trying to make.

I'm using a block with thick polylines. When i copy it to another drawing the thickness does'nt show anymore, only the contours drawn in thin lines.
How do I get my wide polylines to show correctly? Is there a setting I should know about?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am relatively un-practiced using AutoCAD and I am struggling with keeping my drawing in the state it was created. All of my curved lines seem to have moved or doubled so now there are two of the same very close to each other which makes the line width seem heavy. Because my curved lines are not exactly where I created them now it means that my hatching does not sit flush with its boundary. A separate issue is that when I am choosing 'pick points' to hatch, they take a very long time to select before the hatch box appears.

Without using programming code, this task can be accomplished via AutoCAD command by typing the PE command, selecting the JOIN option and then selecting any lines or arcs which should be combined to form a polyline.
Using programming code, however, I am quite stumped on this task. I have been able to successfully create the lines and arcs which should form the polyline, and they are all connected as well so they would form a connected polyline; I simply do not know how to proceed from here.

i am doing a simple project making a survey plot for a piece of land that will be broken into subdivision. all measurements are of my starting point. after plotting the starting point i try to draw line that is 113 feet long and at a bearing of N 5d W i have no problem entering this data but when i hit enter it draws a straight line. now i know 5 degrees is much of an angle so i thought maybe it just looked straight and tried to plot the next point which was 542 feet from the last point at a bearing of N 39d E but once again after i put the info in and hit enter or space it would plot a line of the proper length but vertical, not the proper angle i need it at. here is how i would put in the info:
first i choose the lne command and choose my "beginning point" as that starting point for my line then i type 113<N 5d W for the length and direction and hit enter. when i do this it plots a vertical line of the proper length but wrong angle. what am i doing wrong? i have ortho set to off and idk what else to mess with
I was trying for an option with wipeout mask.
Is there any option with wipeout to turn the continuous lines into dotted lines instead of hiding the object? I have been working on one staircase block, i want to show half block as a dotted lines.. is there any way to do that without going in to the block edit and change? thats why am looking for wipeout mask option.
I have a problem were when , i take a design accelator shaft to .idw and section it the the hatch lines do not appear as they would if it was a shft drawn from scratch.
