All the text on my palettes and bars are not appearing. I can see only the numbers that were on them.
The same happen with list of layers, colors and every dropdown list. See screenshot attached for a better understanding.
I tried reinstalling and resetting configs, but it didn't work.
I have created a custom tool bar for ACAD 2013. Each time I start a new ACAD session, my tool bar is not docked at the top of the screen and the other standard tool bars I do not want appear.
How do I permanently keep the unwanted tool bars from appearing? Also, in the upper left corner of the screen the following appears: [-][Top][2D Wireframe]. How do I get rid of if?
My ribbon disappear along with my tool bars and all.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to learn autocad and I just downloaded the 2012 version. I can't figure out how to make the modelspace look the format in all the tutorial videos. I don't have a big menu bar on the top or bottom. It's so hard for me to follow videos when nothing looks the same and I can't find the buttons/commands.
How to change the format/menu bars?
When I switch tabs in my UI (I use Drafting and Annotation), they bug somehow and they don't upgrade visually. What I mean is that if I switch "Home" tab to "Annotate", it keeps showing "Home" tab maximized, but the if I click "Line" it would use "Multiline tool", as they occupy same space in corresponding tab. I can fix it temporarily by multi-clicking bar, but after next switch between tabs, it would bug again. I assume it is not hardware problem, as it used to work for me, then I reinstalled my OS and bug started.
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust installed AutoCAD 2012, started to set up my tools and found many of the ACAD toolbars displaying the wrong, or no icon for the commands. Example: Modify TB
displays "move" for erase
"mirror" for rotate
"fillet" for explode
This is true with the Draw TB, Dimension TB, UCS TB...and more..I have not even customized any toolbars yet...just turned on/off the AutoCAD ones.
I have updated the drawing file with the paper templates which has the paper sizes as blocks. I have deleted the Paper template palette and gone via the design center to create the updated tool palette which should have the updated paper template blocks. For some reason it is still inserting the old blocks even though the new source file has the amended details.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently switched from AutoCAD 2006 to AutoCAD 2012, I have hatch patterns set up for different area, with scale, layer, etc., when inserted using the Tool Palette. Never had an issue with it, but in 2012 it doesn't seem to work. Instead of inserting the hatch with the layer specified in the tool palette, it assigns the hatch pattern whatever layer was used when hatching a previous area, using the hatch dialog box.

And every time I close down AutoCAD and open it back up, all the palettes load back up in the middle of my left monitor (dual monitor set up). I typically have my AutoCAD window open on the left monitor, and my palettes on the right monitor.
I have tried to save my profile, lock all Toolbar/Palette positions.....and nothing has any affect. My palettes always load in the middle of my left monitor.
I tried loading the latest graphics drivers, no affect.
I was making a drawing and i don't know what i did but now anything i draw is not visible on screen although it is actually there because i can select it.

I have created a new GROUP, dragged a palette into that group, made my commands, and they work on my PC... but how do I get them all so everone can see them. Exporting the "command tool samples" and importing it as "My layers" works, but the name is still command tool samples and breaks the actual command tool samples...

problem i'm facing when ever i tried to apply a material to an object in AutoCAD 2010,I have set all the necessary thing required for the material to be visible such as visual style(Realistic/Conceptual),Material/Texture(on) and any of the isometric view.Below is a captured image of the problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing (let's call it "main.dwg") with an external reference (let's call it "file.dwg") as the bulk of its content. The drawing "main.dwg" has 16 layout tabs, each with several mview windows.
Needing to make some changes to "main.dwg" for the first time in a couple months, I just opened it and was having issues with freezing out layers in the mview windows. It turns out that "file.dwg" appears twice in the xref list under two different names (let's say "File 1" and "File 2") with the same target path.
Besides the disorganization created by the double xref, it makes freezing layers in the mview windows twice as complicated, since each layer now appears twice in the layers list. For example, since layer 0 appears in "file.dwg", "main.dwg" contains the layers "File 1|0" and "File 2|0".
Detaching "File 2" in the xref list removes both references. Retargeting "File 2" to a different file retargets both references. Detaching both and reinserting the xref resets the layer freeze settings in every mview window, making every layer visible again.
I am using vanilla autocad 2011. installed from the autocad mechanical suite. I keep having a problem when copying blocks, leader lines and text, they sometimes apear bold in paper space. I have used the trick of changing the Z dimension from 0 to 1 and back to 0. My leader lines do not have the ability to do that. How can I keep this from happening. Autocad 2010 never had this isssue. Attached is a capture of the problem, you will see the bold text.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using AutoCad 2011 and am not seeing the bubble notifying when an xref needs to be reloaded. I do see the notification alert in the taskbar immediately after saving the xref, but do not see the bubble with the link to reload. XREFNOTIFY is set to 2. Thought XNOTIFYTIME might have worked but I don't know how to use it as typing it in the command line in AutoCad doesn't work. Also tried (setenv "XNOTIFYTIME" "#") but typing that in the command line doesn't work either.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have drawn a special brick pattern that I need to use at the hatch for a three story building. The idea was to draw the pattern on a large scale and then use xclip or clipit to crop the pattern to the openings in the wall, i.e. windows, doors, etc. The polyline that I'm using to clip the brick pattern block is quite complicated. When I use it to clip the block, stray lines appear OUTSIDE the boundary. The xclip frame does match the boundary I want. Note, the entire block isn't appearing, just a row of lines here and there. It's obviously a glitch of some sort.
View 1 Replies View Related tool palettes from a directory called ACAD2008 to ACAD2012. Tool palettes can't find the associated blocks because the support path still points to the ACAD200 Directory.
Is there a way to "globally" change the associated path? There are too many blocks to think about changing each one manually.
I have a problem with a File in Autocad.
We have a dynamic block here at work that has a solid hatch in it. It is a simple block which only utilizes a dropdown menu.
This block is a circle with a solid hatch in it. However when I select the block via dropdown menu, the hatch is not solid, it is a bunch of lines originating from the center of the circle.
I have never had this problem before with this block and nothing has changed with the block.
It also works fine when I open up other drawings.
This tells me that there is a problem with the settings of this specific file but I cannot figure out what setting.
I believe the problem occurred because I brought my work home with me and I have different settings on my autocad (both ACAD 2011).
AutoCAD 2012 is loaded on my office machine with WIndows 7 64 bit. I have downloaded the correct vba module and installed. After writing a simple program with two texboxes for user input and a calculation button with an answer box. When running, the cursor appears in the textbox but neither textbox will accept input from the keyboard and the cursor does not move nor does the tab key work even with it set in the program. Pressing the calculate button and a zero appears. In the toolbox I have added the AcFocusCtrl control, still no luck.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI xref’d a plan into a compiled drawing and added notes in the compiled drawing’s model space. The xref’d plan contains an image. When adding the notes in the compiled drawing, I turn the layer off on the xref that contains the image so that I can see the text clearer. When I turn the image layer on, the notes are there, but 2 things are happening: (1) I cannot select the xref for some reason, and (2) the text disappears in the viewport when I switch to paper space.
I am using Autocad Architecture 2009.
I am facing the following problems while working on the navigation bars.
a) I am not able to create a new on of my own, I have to again and again drag and drift a navigation bar from the Designers Gallery, and right click and more buttons to it . What If I want to create a button of my own design ???
b) Even after selecting the navigation bar, I am not able to change the colour of the background as well as the text, am not able to change the font size of the text, the font type am also not able to change, even If I go the the menu style tab of the navigation properties tab. How do I change these specifications ?
When I had a virus removed from my computer, I believe it may have corrupted/deleted some of Photoshop Element 8.0's files. While the program still runs, there are some things out of place, in particular a lot of scroll bars are missing and scrolling through the text-box font drop down window is completely disabled.
Is there a software patch that could potentially fix this? Or should I just uninstall/reinstall the program?

For example:
If I type "R", instead of "R" appearing, the Rectangle Select Tool is selected
If I type "M", instead of "M" appearing, the Move Tool is selected

I'm have been using Photoshop CS2 for the past year and suddenly I am no longer able to see text that I type.
The background is white, the text colour is black, I'm on the top most layer (actually right now I'm on the only layer), the font size is big enough and is a Photoshop friendly found (basic Arial Black).
When I click on the document to create the text, a black square is coming up but I can't see the cursor, or anything I type.
I am trying to Save As Photoshop PDF, but some the text is not appearing as it should I have attached an image
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been working on items in Illustrator, and noticed a HUGE change when I transfer them into Photoshop. What I am doing is creating images (and text) in Illustrator.
Then I select, Control + C to copy, then I paste into my 300dpi document in Photoshop to add textures, etc. Once they are brought in... the text is pixelated and not clear like it is in Illustrator.
