I'm have been using Photoshop CS2 for the past year and suddenly I am no longer able to see text that I type.
The background is white, the text colour is black, I'm on the top most layer (actually right now I'm on the only layer), the font size is big enough and is a Photoshop friendly found (basic Arial Black).
When I click on the document to create the text, a black square is coming up but I can't see the cursor, or anything I type.
I am trying to Save As Photoshop PDF, but some the text is not appearing as it should I have attached an image
View 5 Replies View Relatednew user to GIMP. Trying to add text, but when I type - instead of the letters appearing in the text box, the shortcut keys are being used instead.
For example:
If I type "R", instead of "R" appearing, the Rectangle Select Tool is selected
If I type "M", instead of "M" appearing, the Move Tool is selected
This has only started today, hasn't been a problem before now. Just wondering if I've accidentally turned on a feature?
I am a relative newcomer to Photoshop CS5. I have been creating a document with a background image layer and a couple of text box layers. The font is set at Arial, italic, sharp. When I save the document as a PDF file, random words appear in bold. I have tried deleting these words in the PSD document text layer and retyping them but they still appear as bold in the PDF file. Interestingly when I save as a JPEG image the bold words appear as normal. CS5 version is 12.0.4 and OS is Windows XP.

After writing a simple program with two texboxes for user input and a calculation button with an answer box. When running, the cursor appears in the textbox but neither textbox will accept input from the keyboard and the cursor does not move nor does the tab key work even with it set in the program. Pressing the calculate button and a zero appears. In the toolbox I have added the AcFocusCtrl control, still no luck.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI xref’d a plan into a compiled drawing and added notes in the compiled drawing’s model space. The xref’d plan contains an image. When adding the notes in the compiled drawing, I turn the layer off on the xref that contains the image so that I can see the text clearer. When I turn the image layer on, the notes are there, but 2 things are happening: (1) I cannot select the xref for some reason, and (2) the text disappears in the viewport when I switch to paper space.
I am using Autocad Architecture 2009.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been working on items in Illustrator, and noticed a HUGE change when I transfer them into Photoshop. What I am doing is creating images (and text) in Illustrator.
Then I select, Control + C to copy, then I paste into my 300dpi document in Photoshop to add textures, etc. Once they are brought in... the text is pixelated and not clear like it is in Illustrator.

This is a problem running through only some of my drawings, I have tried forcing the z value to 0, no change. I have tried setting the ucs to current, world, no change. I have tried to flatten the text, no change.

The same happen with list of layers, colors and every dropdown list. See screenshot attached for a better understanding.
I tried reinstalling and resetting configs, but it didn't work.
I'm using version 2009, but I need to save down to 2005. When I open the drawing in version 2005, my text is not appearing in the right location.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOne two of my text boxes there is background colour appearing. I did not put it in there and it just suddenly appeared.
On the top left of the properties panel, where the name of the itme appears, there is a button to select between Div and cod and h1 and p etc. And when I experiment and change between the different options sometines this is removing background of one of them and then when I select the other one and change the option, it is removing the background, but then the original one goes back to having a background. See image below.
I only mention the paragrph above becuase it seems to make a difference.
What I think I am looking to do is get into the code and delete the CSS which is giving the text a background. There does not seem to be an option in the properties to add or remove a text background.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a license for Photoshop CS4 Extended (Windows) and for some reason whenever I install it the software appears to be installing as regular non-Extended CS4. At least, the 3D menu items don't appear, and when I go to "About Photoshop" it doesn't say extended.
I have double-and triple-checked that my serial number and license are for the Extended version. It says it right there on the package, on the CD, and on the sticker with the Serial Number.
I had to wipe my machine and re-install everything recently, and now it's not showing up. Is there something else I need to do when installing? Is there some hidden option I need to turn on?

View 13 Replies View RelatedWhen I open Bridge on my laptop I find that instead of images from the DNG files appearing, what I get are small icons having DNG and a camera iris. This happened after I reinstalled the CS6 program. (I managed to lose the icuuc40.dll file and received a message advising to reinstall the program).
I use my laptop when travelling. I download all files from the camera onto it and view them in Bridge. After returning home I transfer the files to the PC desktop for processing etc.. Bridge is working normally on the desktop.
I have both Photoshop CS6 and CS4 and they both are not opening the image. when I open RAW format files, they open up okay IN Camera Raw but when I am done in there and open them in PS the file displays for a millisecond on the canvass and then a black screen of hate pops up. I tried unistalling PS CS6 and that didn't work. I also tried reinstalling my newest AMD driver for my Radoen 6870 2G card but that didn't work. I then proceeded to update to Win7-Service Pack 1 update and that didn't do anything either.
JPEGS also do not display in PS as well. I am not sure but I think I might have to downgrade my disply driver to get this to work. My system specs are displayed below.

I'm having a strange issue in Photoshop CS6 at the moment. Not sure when it started or what's causing it! It seems that when I bring in certain colors, Photoshop interrupt them as black, however if I output the file as a JPEG (or any file-type for that matter), they appear fine. It just means it's impossible to color anything in PS as it all looks mad!
I first noticed the issue when opening a specific files, but I've now found I can actually recreate it in certain files with adjustment filters, the easiest way to demonstrate seems to be to crank up the saturation. For example;

I'm running Photoshop CS6 Extended (13.1.2 x64) on Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit. I'm running hardware acceleration on my ATI Radeon 7850, but turning it on or off makes no difference. The problem is also present on all color profiles, although for clarity I'm currently on the Europe General Purpose 3 preset. I'm aware I could be being an idiot here and turned some feature on that I didn't know about, but I just can't work out what's going on! I have another install of Photoshop CS6 at my other workplace, this time running on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leapord - that doesn't seem to suffer any issues, but this machine is more important!

When sending a raw image from lightroom to photoshop all I see is a blank photoshop window. If opening direct in photoshop it goes to camera raw first. I have just updated to the latest camera raw.
"save as" options do not appear when trying to save a PSD file as a PNG, etc. I only get 3 or 4 choices and no JPG, PNG, or some of the more common ones.

I tried using my old Type manager deluxe, but it won't let me install it on a 64-bit system. I used the windows font installer to install the fonts. How do I get my creative suite to recognize the fonts?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was working in a drawing doing some copying/pasting from marquee selections. Somehow I now have a light blue line stretching horizontally from one side of the screen to the other. It runs out past the canvas of the drawing to the edges of the PS window.
I think it occured while I was switching tools with hotkeys and my computer lagged a little bit. It's like a gridline, but I can't find anyway to delete/turn off/move it. When I make a marquee it seems to snap to it as a boundary.
This line doesn't appear in other drawings, so it's just something that I've done in this particular file.
i've just added several new fonts to my computer, and they are not showing up for use in Photoshop CS (or illustrator CS for that matter). i am able to use them in other applications (flash, word, etc)
of paticular concern are several fonts from the helvetica family i've just added. while there are a few helvetica fonts showing up in the font list, most do not. how do i get access to the rest of them?
Whilst editing images in photoshop cs3 (using power mac), random horizontal lines are appearing on images. Usuall just one or two and the only way to get rid of them is to edited/erase them out....
I have tried saving and opening image on another mac and it still shows up...

My PC configuration is Intel Core i3-3220 CPU 3.30 GHz, 8GB RAM Kingston HyperX, Sapphire Radeon 7870 HD 2GB GHz Edition, Motherboard - ASUS P8H77-V and I'm running on Windows 7 64-bit.
I have Photoshop CS 6. Every time I start the computer and I start Photoshop the trial message saying how many days are left to buy it comes up. I do not have a trial version and even though I put my serial number, the message comes up.
They, at Photoshop have installed and uninstall the program 3 times with no success. How do I get rid of this message?
Photoshop 5, (not CS5, but version 5). I was using it on a Windows XP computer, but my new computer, running on Windows 7, would not run Photoshop 5. So, I bought CS6.
There's one problem. I use Photoshop primarily for coloring comics. Which means I create images in CMYK color. And I'm noticing a slight difference in certain colors in this new version. Most noticeably, in a color combo I use for coloring average "Caucasian Flesh".
My settings for this shade would normally be:
C-3
M-25
Y-25
K-0
This, in the old version of Photoshop, would produce a pretty average "beige" color. However, when I use this same color setting in the new version, the shade is noticeable pinker. Strangely, when I open documents in CS6 created in the older version, they retain the old, proper "beige" look. But the same color settiing in a new document produces this "rosey beige" color. (By the way, this isn't a "monitor issue"...... I have printed out the documents, and it's just as apparent in the printed versions.).
I suppose I could just use an altered color setting with less magenta, but I'd like to find out why this is happening, and why I can't use the same color settings I did in the old version of Photoshop.
I am single-clicking on the path the way you are supposed to to add a single corner point—and instead bezier handles automatically keep appearing.
I then have to use the conversion tool before I can use the point. How can I add an anchor point to a path without getting the handles?
I'm a keen amateur on the computer and run my own construction company. We currently have a steel ruler as our logo, but I'm trying to get a spiral staircase also. Not sure if two logo's is allowed; the steel ruler has our company name imprinted on it and I thought it was cool way to display our name. Probably severley faultered from a pro.
Was hoping to find some vector art of a helical staircase but not much out there. So we made a couple of beautiful helical stairs for a client, and I'm trying to trace that and use it as our logo also.
I'm tracing it in vector art because we have a Roland GX24 vinyl cutter and I'm making my own banners etc.
I have three queries:
1: The pen is showing up some strange invisible paths which only appear in the plugin cutstudio (where I haven't closed the paths off I presume?). How can I get the paths to be as drawn?;
2: When I go to cut this, the vinyl cutter will treat the paths as single slices. This design will be as if drawn, so I will want a way of creating two paths to the strokes, probably 2mm width apart. That will then leave a piece of vinyl 2mm in width so when I peel off, the vinyl will stay there; like a pen stroke of a handwritten drawing.
3: What snapping should I be using? I've always had problems with points or paths not being snapped together perfectly. The cutter will end up cutting some of the other adjoining 2mm vinyl and after time this will cause the vinyl to peel off.
This just started happening and I don't know if I inadvertently have changed a setting. I open a file in Photoshop and the file is obviously open because I can see it in the history or layers panel. However it does not appear on the screen. I've tried changing my viewing and other things, and it just isn't there.
My only solution is to shut Photoshop down completely, reopen Photoshop and reopen the file. Very inconvenient.
