i've just added several new fonts to my computer, and they are not showing up for use in Photoshop CS (or illustrator CS for that matter). i am able to use them in other applications (flash, word, etc)
of paticular concern are several fonts from the helvetica family i've just added. while there are a few helvetica fonts showing up in the font list, most do not. how do i get access to the rest of them?
I have quite a few postscript fonts installed on my Windows XP Professional 64-bit computer, but none of my adobe programs are showing them as available. I tried using my old Type manager deluxe, but it won't let me install it on a 64-bit system. I used the windows font installer to install the fonts. How do I get my creative suite to recognize the fonts?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I got my CS4 back in the fall, I selected the SanVito font as my registration freebie. I downloaded & installed as directed, but the fonts never appeared in PS. I didn't think too much about it then because I don't do much graphic work - just photos. Then a couple weeks ago I finally got around to installing CS4 on my laptop. I got an option on another set of freebies for the 2nd registration, and picked the fonts again, remembering that they weren't showing up. Again, I downloaded & installed in accordance with the directions. All 16 files are confirmed in my "fonts" folder (sorry, using Win XP). However, if I open MS Word, only 8 of the SanVito fonts are available. Word is an old version, so OK, I can understand that it might not support all of them - maybe. But in PS, not a single one is there. This is the 2nd time now that the fonts are installed where they should be, but aren't recognized by CS4 (and are only 1/2 recognized by Word). Anyone have that problem? Any ideas on what might be preventing them from displaying? CS4 shows a ton of fonts, and I've never had a problem with any other font that I've downloaded not appearing.

Only the oblique version shows up in BFN.

I have noticed that sometimes the fonts appear in the font list in alphabetical order, and sometimes they appear either towards the top or bottom (not in order), or they are in a completely separate grouping at the bottom of the list. Is there any fix for this? I'd prefer that they all be in Alphabetical order if possible...
font issues with X6.2, ever since the last update certain fonts basically don't appear on the documents once they are open, even although they are there in the preview. I've reinstalled the fonts in question, but still nothing. They work in other applications.
On the image below you will see the small squares, this is the size f the object, the dots in a line are the. actual words of text. The font(s) in this job is Omnes regular and medium, which are Open Type fonts.

My PC configuration is Intel Core i3-3220 CPU 3.30 GHz, 8GB RAM Kingston HyperX, Sapphire Radeon 7870 HD 2GB GHz Edition, Motherboard - ASUS P8H77-V and I'm running on Windows 7 64-bit.
All of the sudden none of my fonts are working. They are all showing up on my PS list but whenever I try to type something out it is just a black underscore line. I tried exiting PS, restarting my PC...still nothing.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am opeing a coworkers files in Illustrator, we both have the same version of illustrator (CS6) and the same fonts installed, but for some reason they're displaying differently on my computer than on his.
They're not missing - I didn't get an error when I opened the files, and highlighting the text doesn't give me a Font Family with an asterisk after it like it would if it were missing. So it seems like they should be working fine, and they sort of are. Anything in Franklin Gothic Demi seems to be Franklin Gothic Demi, for example, but the pt size, leading, tracking - all that sort of thing seems to be off.
I had some font issues with Microsoft Excel on my mac earlier today and had messed around with the fonts, basically moving them from one folder to another, deleting duplicates etc.
I must admit at this point that I'm no Mac expert and I do like to do things the trial-and-error way. and I may have done something that I shouldn't have as my AI CC won't launch now.
I can't undo what I've done as I can't remember what I did, and Time Machine isn't useful.
I can't reinstall the CC as I don't have the installer and now Adobe won't let me download it again as apparently my OS is supposedly out of date, even though it still meets the minimum requirement (OSX10.6.8) stated.
Fonts from Dyna Fonts are working fine on CS6, but not on CC.

Every single one that I have installed just shows up as nothing and is un-selectable when using it. The one in particular that i was using is Bebas Neue. Although all installed fonts are not working either.This happened out of the blue and I don't remember hitting anything or changing anything. Just typing with the font and it refused to show.
Steps Taken:
1. Reset All Preferences
2. Shift Key Trick on Load Up
3. Restarting the Computer
4. Reinstalling PSP X2
5. Using the font in other programs - Which they WORK (Word, GIMP, Adobe Illustrator, etc.)
6. Uninstalling/Reinstalling the Font itself.
i downloaded some free fonts and tried to implement them...one worked. But now my brushes aren't working as in when i open the library of brushes and click it pops up and says "unknown error has occurred". are these 2 linked?

I have recently installed X3 on a W7 machine and have so far found everything to work fine except for an issue of half of my fonts being blank when trying to choose one from the drop down menu. Existing files with these blank fonts also come up with the fonts completely missing as if the entire set of words was deleted. Here is the list of patches that I've heard is necessary for X3 to be compatible with W7...

Though better, the Font is still way smaller than I would like. Maybe it's just tougher for seniors? Can they not make the font adjustable? View 4 Replies View RelatedIt used to be that I very rarely used fonts within CS5 but recently I have. I realized that all of the fonts supposedly included with CS5 are not available via my drop down menu.
I then found these fonts in Windows/fonts so I copied all of those fonts into Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts. These unavailble fonts are now listed in that folder but are still not available via the dropdown menu in PS CS5.
I've recently read that the fonts don't really even NEED to be in the Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts folder and that PS should actually make all of the fonts in Windows/Fonts available via the dropdown menu. Yes, I have restarted PS after copying the files and also tried rebooting my PC after copying the files. The fonts are still not available via the drop down text menu within PS even though all of them are now in both locations.
I have put some new fonts into C:/windows/fonts and they have come up in other programs e.g. Microsoft office but they are not showing up in photoshop.
i am using vista home premium with SP1 and it is 32bit and photoshop cs4.

View 10 Replies View Relatednever knew there has a font folder in the user profile for Gimp until I wiped my user profile and moved all patterns, gradients, brushes, etc I have been putting in the program folder to the user profile folder because I read on here that it is better to keep all that stuff in the user profile folder of Gimp... my question is, what is the difference between installing your fonts into the system and placing them into the fonts folder in Gimp (besides all programs being able to use them)?? I've been installing all my fonts into the system I wanna use in Gimp... is it better to use the font folder in the Gimp user profile or to install them into the system?

The configuration to check is the fonconfig settings then, for example the the global, system-wide fonts.conf file. It may contain references to the global font directories, for example /usr/share/fonts/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts. URL....
If you comment those out, then you can (and have to) add all font directories in GIMP's settings, for example.

The background is white, the text colour is black, I'm on the top most layer (actually right now I'm on the only layer), the font size is big enough and is a Photoshop friendly found (basic Arial Black).
When I click on the document to create the text, a black square is coming up but I can't see the cursor, or anything I type.
these weird lls keep showing through.It is all over my psd file and when saved they show us as well.This is photoshop CS6
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a license for Photoshop CS4 Extended (Windows) and for some reason whenever I install it the software appears to be installing as regular non-Extended CS4. At least, the 3D menu items don't appear, and when I go to "About Photoshop" it doesn't say extended.
I have double-and triple-checked that my serial number and license are for the Extended version. It says it right there on the package, on the CD, and on the sticker with the Serial Number.
I had to wipe my machine and re-install everything recently, and now it's not showing up. Is there something else I need to do when installing? Is there some hidden option I need to turn on?
