i downloaded some free fonts and tried to implement them...one worked. But now my brushes aren't working as in when i open the library of brushes and click it pops up and says "unknown error has occurred". are these 2 linked?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to use my adjustment brushes, I would select the one I wanted to use and then go try to use it. As soon as I first let go of my mouse, the brush would change to custom. Since updating to 4.2, that has stopped switching, but my brushes still don't work. I have tried multiple brushes and it's all of them, not just one particular one. I have tried restoring my presets, that didn't work. I have tried deleting all of the presets from the folder, restarting Lightroom and re-importing them, that didn't work. I updated Lightroom, that didn't work. I have restarted my computer and that didn't work. The thing is, is that they HAVE worked before. I was switching between some catalogs and once I was done with that, they stopped working. So I'm not sure if I did something while switching between catalogs or not. I use these brushes all the time and they are a significant part of my workflow!

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with photoshop. Whenever I use the brush, it seems to be faded, and have this sort of faded background over it.
It almost seems as if the 'flow' option is always down, but it is at 100%.
The more I brush over, the darker it gets, but the flow and opacity are on 100%.

Also, the brush preview box is an odd sepia color?
I think it may have something to do with my color profiles, because every time I open PS, I get the message ' The monitor profile LCD color management and conversion appears to be defective. Please rerun your monitor calibration software.'
I went to my control panel, deleted my color profiles and management, and nothing happened. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.
It is frustrating, because I can't just draw a clean line, it always has this fuzzy border. My 'draw' tool works just fine though.
For some reason the fonts that I have on my computer aren't working in photoshop. It kinda makes me mad because all the normal fonts are ugly. Some worked, but some haven't. All of the fonts are in the Windows font folder.

I've had luck finding some nice ones made by deviantart users (especially a grunge-brush pack called "Fracture"), but almost every other "free" package has just been sample watered-down version of the actual brushes (which they make you buy).
I would pay for them if I intended to use them in any art I was going to sell, but since it's just for fun and making siggys and what not... freebies are the way to go.
So, anybody have any resource sites?
I am with CS5's enhanced brush engine - the great new media brushes...BUT, when using them, and a wacom intuos4 tablet, with the canvas rotated - where the cursor is when stroking is not where the pixels created by brushing go. Very frustrating. The greater the rotation of the canvas, the greater the offset is. It's hard to know where the pixels will appear when I put pen to tablet and stroke. Makes it impossible to accurate, well-controlled brushing.I'm forced to stop using the Rotate Canvas tool with media brushes and the Rotate Canvas tool is incredibly useful for freehand painting/drawing (I rotate my paper every which way while drawing on actual paper.)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to CS6 from CS4. Some fonts that worked without a problem in CS4 no longer even show up in the font options in CS6. I use Font Agent Pro to manage my fonts. They are not corrupt, they work on other computers, and were purchased from online font foundries.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am opeing a coworkers files in Illustrator, we both have the same version of illustrator (CS6) and the same fonts installed, but for some reason they're displaying differently on my computer than on his.
They're not missing - I didn't get an error when I opened the files, and highlighting the text doesn't give me a Font Family with an asterisk after it like it would if it were missing. So it seems like they should be working fine, and they sort of are. Anything in Franklin Gothic Demi seems to be Franklin Gothic Demi, for example, but the pt size, leading, tracking - all that sort of thing seems to be off.
I'm looking for free vector brush strokes. Not brushes, but actual pre-drawn brush strokes, in vector format (looks something like this).
The first few pages of Google results yield pay websites, and I just didn't have the patience to keep hunting for the free ones.
i usually zoom in about 800 percent and use the eraser tool to cut stuff out. is that the best way to do it ? also whats a good website for free brushes, especially like graffiti brushes like splatters n stuff ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had some font issues with Microsoft Excel on my mac earlier today and had messed around with the fonts, basically moving them from one folder to another, deleting duplicates etc.
I must admit at this point that I'm no Mac expert and I do like to do things the trial-and-error way. and I may have done something that I shouldn't have as my AI CC won't launch now.
I can't undo what I've done as I can't remember what I did, and Time Machine isn't useful.
I can't reinstall the CC as I don't have the installer and now Adobe won't let me download it again as apparently my OS is supposedly out of date, even though it still meets the minimum requirement (OSX10.6.8) stated.
Fonts from Dyna Fonts are working fine on CS6, but not on CC.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I got my CS4 back in the fall, I selected the SanVito font as my registration freebie. I downloaded & installed as directed, but the fonts never appeared in PS. I didn't think too much about it then because I don't do much graphic work - just photos. Then a couple weeks ago I finally got around to installing CS4 on my laptop. I got an option on another set of freebies for the 2nd registration, and picked the fonts again, remembering that they weren't showing up. Again, I downloaded & installed in accordance with the directions. All 16 files are confirmed in my "fonts" folder (sorry, using Win XP). However, if I open MS Word, only 8 of the SanVito fonts are available. Word is an old version, so OK, I can understand that it might not support all of them - maybe. But in PS, not a single one is there. This is the 2nd time now that the fonts are installed where they should be, but aren't recognized by CS4 (and are only 1/2 recognized by Word). Anyone have that problem? Any ideas on what might be preventing them from displaying? CS4 shows a ton of fonts, and I've never had a problem with any other font that I've downloaded not appearing.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a red circle on one layer. That layer is selected in the Layers window. When I choose Filter | Brush Strokes | Spatter, the circle doesn't change (i.e., no spattering).
I'm using CS5 on Windows, the image is RGB/8, all of the filters are enabled, the colors are set to foreground black and background white, I've tried dragging the radius and smoothness sliders, I've pressed Ctrl (which changes the Cancel button to Default) and clicked Default.
If I move through the other filters, most of them don't seem to do anything. These Artistic filters do work: Colored Pencil, Neon Glow, Sponge; none of the Brush Strokes appear to work.
I Have A Legit Registered Copy Of Cs2 And For Some Reason Not All My Filters Are Working. Artistic, Brush Stroke, Sketch, Texture, And Video Aren't Working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedToday, I decided to give Maya a try. After I installed the program, I created primitive polygons and played with the program a bit. Everything worked fine. However, I have a few problems. The shortcut keys aren't working. It's valid to say that the problem is occurring because the hotkeys aren't set. I checked the hotkey editor interface and determined that all the hotkeys are set. Consequently, the problem isn't occurring because the hotkeys aren't set. Also, right mouse click doesn't bring up a menu. Is there an option to toggle hotkeys that I don't know about?

How do I transfer them?I do have an external hd, time machine, but was gonna leave that with old mbp tho could use it tho not plugged it in to new 1, not sure on that.Ideally would prefer to burn my things to cd from 1 & transfer. Is that possible?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI select a bunch of mixed layers like shapes, smart objects and text by dragging my selection marquee around them. I am able to move everything around the art-board but when I Ctrl+T and resize the selected objects, ONLY the shapes are transformed. Everything else remains untouched.
There are too many bugs with CC...this program is quickly becoming unusable.
This problem only seem to happen when I have the Text tool selected and I hold Ctrl and drag to select (it turns into the black arrow). HOWEVER if I press 'V' to select the move tool and drag that and then use Ctrl+T it works as it should. So the problem lies when the user has the Type Tool selected and uses Ctrl+drag to select objects.
Just curious to know where i can install additional shapes brushes and fonts, so i can access them in my photoshop, im using a mac and PS CS3.

I "closed" all leayers, saved the document, restart AI but some layers are open again. How can I save the folding state of a layer? How can I collapse all layers?
