Photoshop Elements :: Can't Search Because Tags Aren't Correctly Displayed
Jan 11, 2014I opened up an old catalog in PSE 11 which was created in a PSE 10. This catalog has been converted.
Then I click grid I see about a hundred folders down the left hand side of screen. These folders are names of the location the pictures were taken. If I select a folder & click on it I see that almost all of the thumbnails have the tag indicator located in the bottom right hand corner of the thumbnail. If I hover the mouse over the indicator I sometimes see tag names for places, people or events.

Nov 3, 2012I have just transferred all my photos from an PC (microsoft) to an iMac. At the same time I upgraded from elements 5 to version 11. Before doing the transfer I saved all the tags to the metadata. On the iMac both the tags and the keywords in the metadata are all in place but when I do a search on a particular tag, only a small number of the relevant photos (the most recent) are found.

The goal is, to use the same Tag-structure to tag photos and also to filter them (most likely as you could do that with PSE 9 ) .
I don't want this `advanced search` window, that takes a lot of space - I want to see my photos, not a hug program border..
Lightroom :: Elements Tags Into Keywords AND Maintain Structure?
Apr 26, 2012I would like to move from using Elements to using Lightroom. Whilst I realise that I can import my catalogue and photos, which should also create all my keywords, I am concerned that the existing keywords/tags parent/child structure would be lost? They would be created as a single contiguous list?
How to go about moving the tags across whilst maintaining the original structure AND remaining associated with the correct photos?
Photoshop Elements :: 12 File Not Working - No Tags
Oct 1, 2013Upgraded from pse 10. Albums are intact in the organizer. But no tags.
When I click on file in organizer I get the sub options but when I click on, manage catalogs, get photos, etc., nothing happens.
Photoshop :: Moving Keywords & Tags To A New Computer
Mar 9, 2008I have 2 issues:
1) I have purchased a new computer and wish to move/copy/export all my photo's along with their Keywords & Tags to the new computer.
2) In doing the above will the pictures re-locate to the new computer in one directory or keep the same directory and sub-directories in tack? I have been saving my Pic's in a directory called: Pictures > Then by Year > Then by Month.
Moving the pictures from the old computer to new one is not the problem. It is maintaining the Directory Tree along with moving the Keywords and Tags.
Currently over 3,500 photos that I would rather not have to re-tag.
Lightroom :: Keywords / Tags Imported From PSE Not Associated With Images?
Jan 22, 2014Why are the tags I added to images in PSE not assocated with the images when I import them into LR. Some of them are on the keyword list, but not all. And none of them are associated with an image. I am trying out LR but its difficult if I have to go and retag things again?

Nov 29, 2012I have a red circle on one layer. That layer is selected in the Layers window. When I choose Filter | Brush Strokes | Spatter, the circle doesn't change (i.e., no spattering).
I'm using CS5 on Windows, the image is RGB/8, all of the filters are enabled, the colors are set to foreground black and background white, I've tried dragging the radius and smoothness sliders, I've pressed Ctrl (which changes the Cancel button to Default) and clicked Default.
If I move through the other filters, most of them don't seem to do anything. These Artistic filters do work: Colored Pencil, Neon Glow, Sponge; none of the Brush Strokes appear to work.

Feb 12, 2014Just starting to use Lightroom (4.4).Testing import to a catalog of images with IPTC metadata. Using PhotoME to display metadata. PhotoME shows list of content in IPTC SubjectCode field, and in Keyword field. These look as intended when I added the metadata to the images in CyPics.
But in Lightroom the Keyword Tags display correctly shows the SubjectCode entries, but does not show any of the IPTC Keyword data.

Apr 2, 2013I'm using Organizer 11. First time evething was ok, persons/faces were detected correctly, then after a few month Organizer doesn't detected new faces and said every time that all faces were detected already also when I imported new fotos from my camera...
(I use the german version, so I can not tell you the exact error message in english, hope you unserstand what I mean.)
As I found no solution, I created a new catalog and imported all photos including their tags newly to this empty catalog. But allready tagged persons are not persons anymore - their tags are now in the "imported keyword tags" (German: "Importierte Stichwort-Tags") and not in the "person/face tags".
How can I tell the organizer that the imported Tags are persons/faces to having no douplicates in the person-tags and normal keyword-tags?
Here some Background Information about my system:
PSE 11, Windows 8, 64 Bit 8GB, Intel i7.
3 catalogs with each 8000-10000 photos.

Oct 21, 2012I have just upgraded my Swedish PSE7 to an English PSE11. Of course the people keyword tags did not get converted into people tags because People is called Folk in Swedish. I was not aware of this mechanism prior to upgrading. How can I convert those keyword tags now?

Feb 17, 2013I just converted from PSE 10 to PSE 11.
Now, in the Media view, over in the Tags/Info pane, I have Events, Other, and Places Tags, but no People Tags. However, when I look at individual photos in my converted catalogs, the people's names are still attached to them; the people icon is still associated with each photo so marked.
In PSE 10, when you imported new photos, you could drag People Tags from the Tags pane to one or more selected photos to quickly tag the subjects. Now, apparently, I'll have to group any new photos with people in them by hand and retype names over and over again — although those tags are already available in the catalog.
This is clearly insane. Surely Adobe hasn't taken something easy (dragging a people tag over from the right pane to a newly added photo) and turned it into something cumbersome and inefficient?
How do I get the Media view to populate the People Tags in the Tags pane along with the Existing Events, Other, and Places Tags?
Maya :: Hotkeys Aren't Working
Nov 8, 2012Today, I decided to give Maya a try. After I installed the program, I created primitive polygons and played with the program a bit. Everything worked fine. However, I have a few problems. The shortcut keys aren't working. It's valid to say that the problem is occurring because the hotkeys aren't set. I checked the hotkey editor interface and determined that all the hotkeys are set. Consequently, the problem isn't occurring because the hotkeys aren't set. Also, right mouse click doesn't bring up a menu. Is there an option to toggle hotkeys that I don't know about?

Oct 24, 2012When I go to use my adjustment brushes, I would select the one I wanted to use and then go try to use it. As soon as I first let go of my mouse, the brush would change to custom. Since updating to 4.2, that has stopped switching, but my brushes still don't work. I have tried multiple brushes and it's all of them, not just one particular one. I have tried restoring my presets, that didn't work. I have tried deleting all of the presets from the folder, restarting Lightroom and re-importing them, that didn't work. I updated Lightroom, that didn't work. I have restarted my computer and that didn't work. The thing is, is that they HAVE worked before. I was switching between some catalogs and once I was done with that, they stopped working. So I'm not sure if I did something while switching between catalogs or not. I use these brushes all the time and they are a significant part of my workflow!

Dec 30, 2012I have just upgraded from PSE 9 to PSE 11 and have imported some pictures that I have tagged in another program. Importing tags for everything other than people works fine (already used tags are recognized and reused). But importing tags for people proved to be a problem. They did not merge automatically with my previous people tags in PSE. My imported people tags ar now placed under "Imported Keyword Tags" in the "Media" workspace. How do I merge or move them to the "People" work space where the people tags for PSE 11 is placed?
I also wonder why people and other tags are put in different places. Is it possible to view all keyword tags in one list/place?

The existing tags in the files still read correctly, but if you try to insert a new tag, or a room name or number updates, the only way to get them to read the correct space information is to close AA and restart it. I have not been able to identify any common circumstances when this occurs.
We are on AA 2010. This morning I had barely been in the program an hour when I had to restart just to change a room name.

Jun 25, 2013My computer had to be reformatted with the operating system re-loaded (Vista). I reloaded PE 10 and then moved my saved photos back into the software. the problem is that all of my tags (various family and friends) seem to have disappeared completely from the Organizer as has an album I painstakingly set up. I have all the photos, but a subset of them are not organized into the album I created.
Is there any way to get back my tags (the categories aren't even showing in Organizer and the photos aren't tagged) and to get back my album?
