I'm trying to learn autocad and I just downloaded the 2012 version. I can't figure out how to make the modelspace look the format in all the tutorial videos. I don't have a big menu bar on the top or bottom. It's so hard for me to follow videos when nothing looks the same and I can't find the buttons/commands.

When I open my Layer manager in AutoCAD 2012 - I have hatch symbols across the top where 'New Layer', New Property Filter', 'Set Current' etc. should be.
while this is very entertaining and different - I am worried what will happen next. I have only had my new pc for about 6 weeks and the Version 2013 is a new download.

I looked through the discussion groups and couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for. Our office recently upgraded their server. Since this happened, my dual monitor blinks when highlighting objects or zooming in and out. Plus, it adds extra menu bars (gray horizontal bars).

Is there a way to maximize a floating window in Standard Screen Mode without losing the menu and title bars? I figured out how to drag images to CS4 and have them open as floating windows instead of tabs. However, when I maximize one of the images/floating windows, the menu and title bars are left out and are not visible. I would like to set the menu and title bars so that all images appear beneath them whether they or maximized or minimized.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I switch tabs in my UI (I use Drafting and Annotation), they bug somehow and they don't upgrade visually. What I mean is that if I switch "Home" tab to "Annotate", it keeps showing "Home" tab maximized, but the if I click "Line" it would use "Multiline tool", as they occupy same space in corresponding tab. I can fix it temporarily by multi-clicking bar, but after next switch between tabs, it would bug again. I assume it is not hardware problem, as it used to work for me, then I reinstalled my OS and bug started.

The same happen with list of layers, colors and every dropdown list. See screenshot attached for a better understanding.
I tried reinstalling and resetting configs, but it didn't work.
Just installed AutoCAD 2012, started to set up my tools and found many of the ACAD toolbars displaying the wrong, or no icon for the commands. Example: Modify TB
displays "move" for erase
"mirror" for rotate
"fillet" for explode
This is true with the Draw TB, Dimension TB, UCS TB...and more..I have not even customized any toolbars yet...just turned on/off the AutoCAD ones.
I recently upgraded to 2012 but forgot to install the express tools, Doh!. I installed them through control panel repair and everything works. Except when I close and restart ACAD the menu bar express menu disappears. I can bring it back by using cuiload but this is not ideal. Any way to get it to stick?

I am facing the following problems while working on the navigation bars.
a) I am not able to create a new on of my own, I have to again and again drag and drift a navigation bar from the Designers Gallery, and right click and more buttons to it . What If I want to create a button of my own design ???
b) Even after selecting the navigation bar, I am not able to change the colour of the background as well as the text, am not able to change the font size of the text, the font type am also not able to change, even If I go the the menu style tab of the navigation properties tab. How do I change these specifications ?
I have just installed C3D 2012 and when I show the menu bar, the only choice is Express which used to be the last tool in previous versions. What happened to File - Edit - View - Insert - Format, etc in the menu bar? I need to access them.
View 4 Replies View Related i have a problem because i want to render my videos in after effects in H. 264. I cant choose this option, i have tried to click on QuickTime movie and then go to format options, and then use H. 264, but if i do that i get the error ( 44 :: 81 ).
1. How can i choose H. 264 in the format menu?
2. Is it a problem if I just render even with getting that error?
They may get caused because i use AAE CS4, I can't get CS5.5 and CS6 because of 32-Bit system.

I have a client that wants everything in CTB format and in AutoCAD Architecture. I can get the drawings into CTB but the materials plot way too heavy and when I go in the styles they show Full Saturation or Wide, Thin from the STB plot styles.
The Drawing is in CTB and I am pulling my hair out trying to get the couple materials used set to Color based plotting.
i have big problem to save in Autocad 2011, then we save in 2007 DWG format it takes up to 3-4 min even local this problem exist, reinstalled i computer totally clean, no antivirus just windows 7 and updated,even disabled fidelity. then i save in 2010 format it goes fast.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI converted a drawing in pdf format into dxf. I'm using Autocad 2012 to edit the file. The dxf conversion is good, but of course there is no difference between the diffent kind of lines.
I would like to select all lines which have an orientation of 30° with the horizontal and put them into a new layer. Is there a way to do that ? I though about using a filter.
Then I will edit the properties oh those lines (color, thickness, type....).

My problem started when we moved all of the users data to a new Windows 2008 r2 server. Searching and file navigation was slow so we turned on Windows Search service. Greatly improved network searches (users do content as well as file name searches).
Then Autocad started having errors when trying to save or create dwf files. The error "One or more objects in the drawing cannot be saved to the specified format. The operation was not completed and no file was created." Users can save the drawing to the local drive without the error.
While being distracted while working, I inadvertently kept my finger on a key (forget which one), heard a little BEEP, and now my Right Click FlyOut Menu is going somewhere I don't need it to go to. I am getting the 'Snap" options box
instead of 'Last Command' Options Box.
i am using autocad 2012 last twoday i was faced this problem i cant edit the text through double click?and i seen some of options missed out in right click menu like ( copy,paste ,rotate ...... finally deselect the objects.
