AutoCAD Architecture :: Flickering Screen And Added Menu Bars?
Sep 20, 2011
I looked through the discussion groups and couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for.  Our office recently upgraded their server.  Since this happened, my dual monitor blinks when highlighting objects or  zooming in and out.  Plus, it adds extra menu bars (gray horizontal bars).
When I add text and dimensions to my drawing it appears tiny on screen. What is the correct setting for text size for A4 and A3 drawings,And how do I set this?
When I open my Layer manager in AutoCAD 2012 - I have hatch symbols across the top where 'New Layer', New Property Filter', 'Set Current' etc. should be.
while this is very entertaining and different - I am worried what will happen next. I have only had my new pc for about 6 weeks and the Version 2013 is a new download.
I'm trying to learn autocad and I just downloaded the 2012 version. I can't figure out how to make the modelspace look the format in all the tutorial videos. I don't have a big menu bar on the top or bottom. It's so hard for me to follow videos when nothing looks the same and I can't find the buttons/commands.
I've installed 3ds max 2012 and noticed that when I enter the modify panel of a light in 3ds max 2012, I have an annoying flickering on some of the items in the modify menu of the light, especially the phrase "Incandescent lamp color shift when dimming" flickers all the time, which is very disturbing. And worse, I can't select the option in the Light distribution type roll out menu with my mouse, I have to do it with the arrows on the keyboard, and it flickers when I try to click, and same thing for the shadows type roll out menu.
See pics.
And all of these problems were not in 3ds max 2011? I've already installed the hotfix 1 and sp1 for 2012.
if anyone had any clue what might be causing this problem. I recently purchased a new notebook PC, and loaded my old copy of Photoshop 7 onto it. When I open a document and work on it, I get a periodic, very random white flicker on the document. Very frustrating, considering I plan on purchasing CS2 in the next week and don't want to be dealing with this same problem. I was thinking it might be just a glitch in the Photoshop install, yet when I loaded up Corel painter 9,
I'm trying to draw on CS6 and the screen keeps flickering Black, I've tried to switch off using the graphics card and switching to Basic mode, that hasn't worked. Â OS: Win 8 Intel R HD Graphics 3000 4GB RAM
Occassionaly when editing in LR3 - final, the whole screen flickers off then on very quickly (Less than a second). I've only seen this effect when using lightroom 3, i.e. it doesn't happen at any other time. Â System is a no-name PC, with AMD dual core 64 bit, Windows 7 64 bit, LR3 64 bit, 4GB ram, ATI Radeon X1200 graphics (On-Board).
[URL] screen flicker in Photoshop CS6 when using any of the larger brush type tools (cloning, eraser, brush, spot healing, burning, and dodging). The flicker is screen wide black boxes, sometimes the whole screen goes black. It only seems to happen when we put the cursor over the image to edit.  Hardware: MacBook Air 13", Haswell 1.7 GHz, 8GB, 512 SSD Software: Photoshop CS6 v13.1.2 20130105.r.224, OS X v10.8.4 (and perhaps others)  Looks like a CS6 is not compatible with the new MacAir.
Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.1.2 (13.1.2 20130105.r.224 2013/01/05:23:00:00) x64 Operating System: Mac OS 10.8.4 System architecture: Intel CPU Family:6, Model:69, Stepping:1 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, HyperThreading      Â
I'll be working on a photo in the develop mod and after making a change the picture will disappear then reappear - kind of like a flickering. It doesn't do it everytime but often enough. If I close the program and restart it this typically works. Â Win 7 64x i7 940 quad 16 meg of ram nVidia 285 GTX Â I should have plenty of horsepower to run this program. I still have Lightroom 3 on the computer and don't have this problem.
When rendering a Video, first AE is ultra-slow, then the Screen starts to flicker, then several AE Icons appear in the Taskbar and than it freezes...  System: Windows 8 on Intel i7 3930 with 32GB Ram, 2TB SSD and AMD Radeon HD 7970m... latest drivers installed...
I have just upgraded to CS4 and am attempting to get acquainted with the new workspace options. Is there a way to maximize a floating window in Standard Screen Mode without losing the menu and title bars? I figured out how to drag images to CS4 and have them open as floating windows instead of tabs. However, when I maximize one of the images/floating windows, the menu and title bars are left out and are not visible. I would like to set the menu and title bars so that all images appear beneath them whether they or maximized or minimized.
Image below shows 6 core usage during edit of an image using LR 4.2RC. Image import was running in the background. This only occurs when I use the develop module sliders (it doesn't matter which slider).Â
When I select "View/Full Screen Preview" and zoom into the image I now get scroll bars on the window - is there a way to avoid having these scroll bars showing up?
Within Photoshop(CS5extended) there's an option to view Styles I have some original Shapes I have created and also downloaded not too many but I would like to have them added to the window drop-down menu at top similar to styles. Is this even possible, for the life of me I can't find a way to do it
I had a valuable program that used the screen menu to insert blocks to aid in creation of architectural details. Now that the screen menu is no longer supported, is there anyway to run a script type of menu that points to various other menus?Â
I checked the only reference to screen menus. However, there was no reference to screen menus in either comment.
Now that I know how to get my screen menu to appear, I would like to edit the standard screen menu to one I replaced it with in previous versions. In the past, I would edit Acad.mns or Acad.mnu and replace the screen menu section with my new screen menu.Â
Now Acad.mns and mnu don't exist and I presume I have to customize Acad.cuix, except I can't find any reference to screen menus in the cui editor to be able to customize the screen menu.Â
I loaded autocad R2013 and went into the .cui dialog box to look for the screen menu section. It used to be under the legacy portion but it's no longer there. I've been looking all around to try and find where it's at.
Marking menu that cuts off the bottom of the screen yet? This is very anoying that on some PC's if clicking somewhere closer to the bottom of the screen a portion of your context meny cuts off. If you click even lower then it jumps to the top but there is an area where it does not work.
I was working in Arch 2011, it crashed. When I opened it back up and clicked on the Big A to try and open the file back up, nothing happens! It looks like the program is active, if I don't try to navigate to a file everything seems to work.Â
Also, I can navigate to the file using Windows and 'Open With' which also works and the program opens the file and seems fine. I really need the navigation menu back though.Â
I was workingona project with autocad 2011, but i lsot the original menus, Ihave been obliged to use the costomed menu. I knew how to use Autocad 2000 and ADT 2002,
