When I add text and dimensions to my drawing it appears tiny on screen.What is the correct setting for text size for A4 and A3 drawings,And how do I set this?

Since this happened, my dual monitor blinks when highlighting objects or zooming in and out. Plus, it adds extra menu bars (gray horizontal bars).

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen creating text in model space it appears both mirrored and rotated 90 degrees to the horizontal. However, when I create text in paper space it is fine. I have tried looking at the properties for the text but although I can find a place to rotate the text back to the horizontal it is still mirrored and therefore unreadable.
When I copy paste stuff from one document to another this also occurs.
I'm adding wall type tags and moving dimension objects (leaders, mostly) around in a plan. Occasionally, maybe 2-3 times an hour, text objects and dimension objects suddenly cannot be moved. When I try to move them, they disappear, and upon Regen they reappear in their original position. AutoCAD does not crash- everything else is fine. I have to close and reopen the drawing to regain the ability to move text and dimension objects. Audit sometimes finds and corrects problems, sometimes not, but either way it seems to have no effect on the problem. My Autosave is set to 30 minutes- probably not a factor, but who knows.

View 3 Replies View RelatedYears ago someone at our firm created his own dimension tick block because he didn't like how thin AutoCAD's built-in tick was. I would agree with him, but I've found using our own tick block creates these really odd additional lines along the dimension line when at smaller dimensions -- I have a feeling the lines are inserted for some reason when the dimension text gets too close to the extension lines. In the following image and in the enclosed DWG, you can see what I mean:
At the bottom left is the tick block on its own. Above that a typical dimension, which looks fine. To the right of that you see the additional length added to the dimension line. And then the next 2 just show some more examples: the lines disappear when I go to 3'-2" but reappear at 2'-11" which is what led me to believe it was due to the proximity of the text to the lines.
Above all that I exploded a dimension and moved the components away from each other: there is a line added to the end of the block and that line does not show up at all in the 3'-3" dimension.
how to suppress these and why they are added in only when the text gets close to the linework?

View 7 Replies View RelatedJust come back from a lengthy trip with about 900 photos from 3 different cameras. Did most of the jpeg's in LR 5, but waited with the Canon raw files for PS CC. All appeared to go well, with first adjusting them in PS CC camera raw, then opening some on PS CC. Saved most in PSD format. However, some of the less important ones, such as information photos, were saved as jpegs, from within PS CC.
This is where the trouble started. Once finished, I went through them all in Bridge, using full screen preview. The ones saved as jpeg, appeared tiny, instead of full screen. Trying to open them, resulted in an error message, with something about a marker not being there. Before panicking, changed the extension from jpeg to psd - and the filed opened in PS CC without any problems. Saved the files as jpeg, using a different name and this time they were all ok.
So it would appear that there is a problem saving a file with layers as a jpeg, without first saving it as psd
Am having problems with annotative dimensions in Autocad LT 2010. When I click on a dimension it appears in at least 3 different scales, do not have this problem in Autocad LT 2012 on different computer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing that is 50 scale. However my sections are all 10 scale. When I set my viewport to 10 scale, all my text is tiny. I can go into the style of the section view and change the size, but then it's too large in model space. Nothing I've tried will change the size of my text in paperspace.

I was working on a project and I had recently installed a new font. Now all of a sudden whenever I make a new text box and type some text in nothing shows up. I can only see a tiny black line which isn't even text, even tho its set to 36ft. I changed the font and size to see if it made a difference, and nothing worked. I restarted PS and my computer several times, and still the same thing...
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up Annotative Text styles in my Xref base drawing, so that I can alter the Annotative Text Scale in paperspace of my titlesheet drawings.
Is it possible to create the Annotative Text styles in an xref and amend these on a titlesheet when said xref has been imported?
I've checked the "Help" section of AutoCad but it all seems to relate to creating Annotative Styles within a single drawing.
Whenever I xref this file or copy this pipe and paste it to the other, the pipe appears to be a single line, what's the reason of it? I have all of the object enablers loaded. This is the only file that keeps acting like this? This is from the subs, so it's not generated from Autodesk softwares. it's a converted DWG file.

I wanted to select a page number located on the lower left corner of each title block of each drawing but found out that the “window selection” doesn’t keep selecting what doesn’t appear on the screen (if zoom in is applied)! For example, if I select a number of drawings and “zoom in” is applied then the window selection will only keep selecting what appears only on the screen!
Then how to let the “window selection” keep selecting all the objects regarding whether they appear on the screen or not?

The text was generated from the QLEADER command, but the problem also applies to text created with MTEXT. I have attached the .dwg.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen initiating the hatch command H at the command line my panel changed to the hatch panel. Now the command opens the more traditional hatch dialog. I don't how it happened, but just when i was getting used to the panel.
When editing a hatched area the panel appears. Why when I stretch some hatched geometry does not the adjacent hatch stretch with it?
I'm referencing an assembly on a drawing. When new parts are added to this assembly, they show up on my drawing, anyway to stop this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI can no longer open the Properties Palette when I double-click on something. Sometimes, I get the Quick Properties Box, instead -- which was already turned off. I've triple checked that the QP is off, made sure no tool tips or the like are on, and I've rebooted the computer, but I can't get rid of the thing.
The main Properties Palette still opens up when I use CTRL-1, if I type "properties" at the command prompt, and if I right-click and select "Properties" from the short-cut menu. Sounds great -- except when I double-click something out of habit and can't jump into the palette and keep going. Instead I have to clear out of whatever pops up on my screen and open the PP 'manually'.
I've gone in to the CUI and dragged "Properties" in to the double-click function, but...nada.
I'm installing Lightroom 5 in a classroom of Macs with OS X 10.9. When another user logs on a to computer and starts Lightroom, Lightroom welcome screen pops up again and asks for country, and in next screen displays the serial number Lightroom was activated with. After pressing OK the user can proceed to use Lightroom. How to avoid the welcome screen from appearing to all users? Obviously we can't have the serial number leaking out to public like this. Luckily this came up while testing the installation.
The registration file seems to be in a correct location (/Library/Application support/Adobe/Lightroom/Lightroom 5.0 Registration)
I deinstalled photoshop 5.0 by mistake, and have problems with re-installation. I restarted pc, deactivated kaspersky antivirus and put in CD, but nothing happens except the audible spinning of the CD. No installation dialogue appears on the screen..

Do I need to turn something on to make them appear? It is making navigation much more difficult while developing (I can only view one image at a time while developing).

The FILE, EDIT, ... drop down menus only appear after carefully hovering near the top of the screen and the minimize, full screen, and close buttons never appear. I don't want to close LR to check email, browse, or kill time while it is rendering previews.
