I can get Gotham .OTF fonts working ok in Adobe applications (Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Archicad. But I cannot get the Gotham fonts to appear in AutoCAD. Do I specifically require .TTF files for the fonts to work correctly in AutoCad?

Aug 6, 2012When I open drawings created by others, I get a message " Specify font for Style OPT and "Arial Unicode MS" and a host of other fonts appear in the table. If I substitute this with Arial from the drop down list then the drawing opens. I believe Auto Cad automatically picks up either the SHX files in its own font directory or font files from MS office. My computer has Arial Unicode files in C:/Windows /Font directory and I do not know why it is not picking up the font from that file.

Feb 8, 2012I converted a drawing in pdf format into dxf. I'm using Autocad 2012 to edit the file. The dxf conversion is good, but of course there is no difference between the diffent kind of lines.
I would like to select all lines which have an orientation of 30° with the horizontal and put them into a new layer. Is there a way to do that ? I though about using a filter.
Then I will edit the properties oh those lines (color, thickness, type....).

My problem started when we moved all of the users data to a new Windows 2008 r2 server. Searching and file navigation was slow so we turned on Windows Search service. Greatly improved network searches (users do content as well as file name searches).
Then Autocad started having errors when trying to save or create dwf files. The error "One or more objects in the drawing cannot be saved to the specified format. The operation was not completed and no file was created." Users can save the drawing to the local drive without the error.

Mar 7, 2013I have this table that's reading my table style. All cell formatting is set to General and middle center justification.
When I type in a number the formatting automatically changes from General to Whole Number and upper right justification. When I type in letters everything it fine.
Why using numbers changes the formatting? In the textstyle I have changed the cell formatting to Text but that doesn't work. If I select the table, right click and choose Remove Overrides it moves the numbers to Middle Center as set in the style.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Xrefs Being Automatically Saved To Wrong Format?
Jun 29, 2010We’re working in AutoCAD 2010 but need to save as 2007 DWG. AutoCAD is set in Options to save to 2007 format, and all files - host and reference - are or should be in that format.
Something is triggering an automatic save of the xrefs. The xrefs are not being edited, in-place or otherwise, but every so often I get a balloon message saying the xref has changed and I need to update it. So I update it, and when I check the file format, I find it’s been saved in 2010 DWG.
Other people on the project are also having this problem. Engineers on this project are using 2009 and keep coming to us and asking where the xrefs are.
This is AutoCAD 2010, "English Version 3" running in XP2 SP3.

Jan 23, 2013I've recently had to export DWG files to PDF and the lines print in black whether they are angled/curved or straight. The problem I'm experiencing is that a number of objects that have been rotated at an angle or lines that are curved appear dark grey on the screen in PDF format. I'm using the DWG to PDF. pc3 with monochrome setting selected. I've checked the Plot Style Table Editor and all colours have been selected to print 'black'; greyscale is 'off' and screening is at 100%.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Images Not Appearing In Large Format PDF (small Format Okay)
Sep 13, 2012We have a computer that using AutoCAD Architecture 2013 and Acrobat 9 Standard. When printing a large sheet (30"x42") with images in it to a PDF the images do not appear in the newly created PDF. However, if the same file is printed to fit an 11x17 the images display correctly. Any thoughts as to why the large sheet size is not printing properly?

Oct 21, 2013never knew there has a font folder in the user profile for Gimp until I wiped my user profile and moved all patterns, gradients, brushes, etc I have been putting in the program folder to the user profile folder because I read on here that it is better to keep all that stuff in the user profile folder of Gimp... my question is, what is the difference between installing your fonts into the system and placing them into the fonts folder in Gimp (besides all programs being able to use them)?? I've been installing all my fonts into the system I wanna use in Gimp... is it better to use the font folder in the Gimp user profile or to install them into the system?
