Jun 5, 2012As I understand it, TextFonts is a collection of all fonts available to Illustraot. Is there a collection of all fonts used in the open document? Or would I have to step through every textFrame an create that list myself?

"Qselect" does it but it can be very slow if there are a large number of objects in the file.
I guess this information is savea as "meta data" and can be accessed even without opening the file???

Nov 20, 2013I checked a couple of old posts looking for a lisp routine that will count the number of lines and list each different length either in a dialog box or txt file. I am working on an estimate and I have a floor plan of owsj of different lengths. I downloaded the tlen.lsp but that is only giving the total number of joists and the total length.
I am looking for a lisp so that I can window all the owsj at once and have it list or show the result for the joist in this manner
sample output:
xx joists = 10'-0"
xx joists = 20'-0"
xx joists = 30'-0"

Feb 12, 2013There must be a simple way to do this. I'm working on a drawing that's all dimensioned with Arial as the standard font.
I need to make ONE line in the title box a different font; I'm using a font called CHILLER. When I go to DIMSTYLE and change from Arial to Chiller, the whole drawing changes to CHILLER.
I just want the one line to change, so I have two fonts in the same drawing.

I can get Gotham .OTF fonts working ok in Adobe applications (Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Archicad. But I cannot get the Gotham fonts to appear in AutoCAD. Do I specifically require .TTF files for the fonts to work correctly in AutoCad?

Aug 6, 2012When I open drawings created by others, I get a message " Specify font for Style OPT and "Arial Unicode MS" and a host of other fonts appear in the table. If I substitute this with Arial from the drop down list then the drawing opens. I believe Auto Cad automatically picks up either the SHX files in its own font directory or font files from MS office. My computer has Arial Unicode files in C:/Windows /Font directory and I do not know why it is not picking up the font from that file.

Sep 19, 2012in Inventor I use my own library with different layers, font types, colors, lineweights etc. In Inventor drawing it works well. But after exporting to DWG only colors of different layers stay the same; all fonts, lineweights change to one (maybe some kind of default) font, lineweight.
How could I repair that, I need drawing in DWG to look like the same as in Inventor. I have tried to use "Configuration" in DWG file exporting option and I have created my own configuration, but it did not work... I simply do not understand how it works. If the "Configuration" in DWG file exporting option is the clue -
AutoCAD 2010 :: No Longer Copy / Past One Item From One Drawing To Separate Drawing
Dec 10, 2013Eventually after I copy and paste with the clipboard enough times within one drawing, the ability goes away and I can no longer copy and past one item from one drawing to a separate drawing. I need to use the clipboard function because that is the only way of getting an item from one drawing to another.
I have download a clear clipboard function but it doesn't work. Closing CAD and restarting does not reinstate the function.

AutoCAD .NET :: Listing All Xrefs Attached To A Group Of (unopened) Drawings
Aug 15, 2012I'm using AutoCAD 2013 64 bit and MS Visual Basic 2010 Express (and Excel 2007), and I'm trying to write VB.NET code to list all xrefs attached to a group of drawings. The list of drawings is in column 1 of an Excel spreadsheet, and I want to list all xref filenames in columns 2 onwards - one row per drawing.
The Excel part works fine. I just wish it was as easy to extract information from DWG files.
I created a "Windows Form Application" project in VB 2010 and added a button to Form1. Clicking on the button runs the code.
When adding references I added "Microsoft Excel 12.0 Object Library" COM for Excel (as per Excel website tutorial), and "acdbmgd.dll" and "acmgd.dll" (both with Copy Local=False) as per AutoDesk .NET tutorial. But I got warning messages saying Acdbmgd.dll and Acmgd.dll target a different processor. Is this different to the Excel COM target processor, or do I need to change the target processor for the whole project (and if so, how)?
I tried adding "AutoCAD 2013 Type Library" COM reference instead of "acdbmgd.dll" and "acmgd.dll" which got rid of the target processor warning messages, and I could then open the dwg files successfully, but still the project crashes.

When I run the project I also get a "A first change exception of type 'System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException' occurred in MyProject.exe" message. How can I rectify this?
Currently it crashes when it gets to the cadDwg.Database.Blocks line saying "Call was rejected by callee. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010001 (RPC_E_CALL_REJECTED))".
The xlsx file and the dwg files refered to in the xlsx file all exist. I've tried running it both with AutoCAD 2013 running and with AutoCAD 2013 not running. Still doesn't work
I feel so close, but what am I missing? I haven't downloaded the "ObjectARX for AutoCAD 2013 (32-bit and 64-bit)" from AutoDesk yet because (i) I have to get a licence, and (ii) it's a very large file, and (iii) I seem to be able to open drawing files without it, but just not access the data I want in the files.
I've got 1500+ drawings to look at by the end of the week. If this doesn't work it's back to AutoLisp (and maybe script files, but that's another headache).
Photoshop :: Styles Palette Listing Most Of Twice?
Feb 16, 2013For some reason my Styles Palette lists "most" of my style-sets twice? There is a horizontal rule below my last style listing in the flyout menu before it starts listing them again? Loading a style from either list works. I have done a search on my hard drive and on one file exists for each style .asl file.
