Photoshop Elements :: Scroll Bars Are Missing And Scrolling Through Text-box
Oct 8, 2013
When I had a virus removed from my computer, I believe it may have corrupted/deleted some of Photoshop Element 8.0's files. While the program still runs, there are some things out of place, in particular a lot of scroll bars are missing and scrolling through the text-box font drop down window is completely disabled.
Â
Is there a software patch that could potentially fix this? Or should I just uninstall/reinstall the program?
How do I control the scrollbars in Photoshop Elements? I have my picture zoomed to 100%. I cannot scroll around the picture to see the places I want to see. The scrollbars jump only to locations preset by Adobe!! I WANT CONTROL OVER THE SCROLLBARS!!
I know one of the new features in X9 is the web publishing feature where you put page numbers and those with tablets can flip through the pages. I have an Android and went to the pages that were designed using this new feature but saw nothing but a website that I had to scroll down like any other except there was page numbers on the bottoms as I scrolled. In fact, I had to left and right scroll to see the full pages before scrolling down. What am I missing? How is this feature any better than just normal scrolling?
The horizontal scroll bar has +/- to zoom in, but I'm missing a similar +/- for the vertical bar. That might be really handy. Maybe there's short keys, but doesn't seem obvious why it's not there. Horizontal zooming we need more frequently.
When I select "View/Full Screen Preview" and zoom into the image I now get scroll bars on the window - is there a way to avoid having these scroll bars showing up?
I have just upgraded to CS4 and am attempting to get acquainted with the new workspace options. Is there a way to maximize a floating window in Standard Screen Mode without losing the menu and title bars? I figured out how to drag images to CS4 and have them open as floating windows instead of tabs. However, when I maximize one of the images/floating windows, the menu and title bars are left out and are not visible. I would like to set the menu and title bars so that all images appear beneath them whether they or maximized or minimized.
When I choose the hand tool and in options Scroll ALL. I'm supposed to click and drag to see the other open files (photos). What am I overlooking? PSCS2 Wxp
I went to use my laptop with autocad LT 2012 which I do not use that much. When I lookd all the Icons on the tool bars are missing. The tabs still work but it is hard to figure out what they do. I have not changed any settings.Â
having scrolling text within the LCD screen of the attached photo. I already know how to create the animation, but the problem is that I cannot keep the text visible only in the LCD screen and not on the outside. I've tried a layer mask on the Text layer in order make text appear in the screen, but obviously that didn't work. lol
I have just about every object in the picture on a different layer. The Green Screen, Scan Lines, Metal, buttons, etc.
It's been a while since being on PDN and I can't find the tutorial where you have different colors scrolling horizontal or vertical within the text. Think you created a .gif file to do this.
After taking a large batch of pictures, I want to place them in a folder and rapidly view the full images one at a time to select which to keep and which to discard. IN PE-8 how can I display two panes - one pane containing the image file names contained in a folder and the other pane which displays the image of the file name selected? Using the arrow keys, I want to move through image file names one at a time while displaying the image associated with the file name in the other pane.
Noticed the 2013 text screen? Noticed how it's not showing its scroll-bar(s) ... well that's only 50% true. The vertical is only hidden - move the mouse over it and it appears.
But what happens if you want to read something which is too long for a line? Say you've listed the DXF codes of something by using the lisp entget function?
Previously if the line was too long it would get wrapped (wrapped to short yes, but at least readable). Now that line does not wrap in the text screen, but there's also no horizontal scroll bar so you can "pan" right to see the rest of the line. The only place I can see that is in the command palette.
For my project I created a chat window where the spoken text and questions are written down.
The window is limited to 3 lines, and each character and line is written itself, using the opacity text animation and its offset value. (like typewriting) how can I drop the first line when a new one starts and push the remaining 2 lines up? The only solution that i thought about is moving the whole textlayer in a mask upwards, but i think there is a much easier solution around.
I am facing the following problems while working on the navigation bars.
a) I am not able to create a new on of my own, I have to again and again drag and drift a navigation bar from the Designers Gallery, and right click and more buttons to it . What If I want to create a button of my own design ???
b) Even after selecting the navigation bar, I am not able to change the colour of the background as well as the text, am not able to change the font size of the text, the font type am also not able to change, even If I go the the menu style tab of the navigation properties tab. How do I change these specifications ?
Sometime during the last few days my scroll wheel has stopped working in the Edit screen. I have always been able to make the photo larger and smaller with this wheel but this has stopped now. Also the sliders on the side and bottom of the editing screen have disappeared.. My scroll wheel is working OK in Organizer and other programmes so it does not appear to be the mouse.  Has there been an update in the last week or so? I am using Elements 10, Version 17215.
After installation I went directly into the editor and right away I saw that the software was very sluggish with my cursor dragging . After clicking on a top menu (File) the menu bar open (5 sec.)and if I scroll it down I do not see the blue color following my cursor, and if I click at the location in the bar of my cursor it takes a few second before it respond. I am also using the following adobe softwares that works flawlessly : Photoshop CS5.5 extended; Bridge; Camera Raw; Lightroom 4.2. My computer uses an Asus P7P55-E Premium motehrboard with Win 7 pro 64 bits with an intel I 860 2.8 mhz and 8 gigs of RAM. All my adobe softs are 64 bits, except for elements 11. After seeing that, I installed the upgrades without any visible problems. Even after that nothing has improved.  I have to say that I have quite a few softwares installed that all work perfectly such has Topaz bundle; Photomatix pro, etc. In fact of all my softwares this is the only one that is giving me troubles.
I am not liking the new features of X4 text. First, is there anyway to make the default text use the dialog box with holding down the shift key? Second, I am so use to previewing font styles by simply highlighting my text and then scrolling through the fonts drop down menu with version 10. This seems impossible with X4, MAJOR BUMMER and it really slows me down.
I recently got a new HP computer and installed photoshop CS4 onto it. The irritating thing about it is when im using alt+scroll wheel to zoom in and out as soon as i get close enough to the image that side scroll bars appear the alt+mousewheel will no longer work. It simply scrolls up and down and i need to grab the zoom tool in order to do anything else afterwards. Im pretty sure this is a conflict with my OS or something but has anyone else had this issue or know a way to resolve it? HP computer with vista 64 home.
How can I turn off auto-scrolling when tools are used near the edge of the window? It's extremely frustrating to be actively drawing, not noticing that I'm getting near the evil danger zone, and to suddenly be three pages down with a vertical brush streak all the way down my image, and having to undo, reposition, redo ...
The same thing happens with the ruler tool; I'll be near the edge, hit shift to snap the ruler to an axis, and suddenly I'll be a mile away scrolled completely outside of the canvas and throwing my arms in the air in frustration.
When viewing thumbnails in Bridge in the 'Essential' view the right hand side thumbnails are partially cutoff, and I can not fully view them no matter what I do, or how I scroll horizontally.
Also I see no scrolling bar to scroll vertically in this view. I do this by dragging the mouse pointer down. Is this the only way?
I am experiencing a problem where changing the zoom level in Photoshop CS3 causes scrolling around the window to become extremely slow and jerky.
A typical example would be I open a photo and zoom in. At this point if I drag a selection box it behaves normally. If I then use the scrollbars or the hand tool to scroll to another area of the photo and then try to drag a selection box, the cursor and box outline move very slowly and are so jerky that it's impossible to accurately select anything. I just finished watching a tutorial by Deke McClellend about setting up my workspace. He talked about the Title Bar above the palletes and it shows as dark gray in is video. He showed how he could change some of the pallets to Icons.
I don't have a title bar above my pallets. Have I turned something off?
I know he is using a Beta Version of CS3 but I have seen the Icon Palletes on someone else's machine that was not a Beta Version. In the help menu it mentions the Dark Gray Title Bar.
