AutoCAD 2013 :: Permanently Keep Unwanted Tool Bars From Appearing?
Jan 27, 2013
I have created a custom tool bar for ACAD 2013. Each time I start a new ACAD session, my tool bar is not docked at the top of the screen and the other standard tool bars I do not want appear.
How do I permanently keep the unwanted tool bars from appearing? Also, in the upper left corner of the screen the following appears: [-][Top][2D Wireframe]. How do I get rid of if?
I have a bunch of students who load tool bars and dock their command line, but as soon as they close AutoCAD and reopen, the command line is floating again and the tool bars are missing. Saving and importing a profile does not seem to work!
I'm having trouble with a logo I've created in an svg. file. I seem to have to finalized, but when I save it as a pdf. to take it to the printers I see parts of the logo suddenly have no stroke or stroke has been added in other parts.
I don't seem to have any hidden layers I don't think. I'm not sure if there is a setting to change in the window that gives you all the options to choose from when you're saving something as a pdf. Or is there a setting I should be activating when finalizing this logo as an svg that prevents such problems. I'm pretty new to illustrator, before this I was using inkscape which I got the feel of until i decided to go pro with illustrator.
The color, linetype and line width sections of the toolbar no longer show on the working screen but they do show on the toolbar manager. How do I recover them?
I'm having trouble setting up my toolbars. I position them the way I want, but as soon as I switch back from a different workspace (lets say3D modeling) the position of the toolbars change. Also I can't get the scroll bars to disappear for good, they always come back Here is what I do exactly:
1. Change the content and the position of the toolbars (acad classic workspace) 2. Lock down the toolbars 3. Go to options => profiles, create a new profile (add to list), set current 4. Change workspace to 3D modeling 5. Change workspace back to acad classic

The result is: content of the toolbars is the way I want, but the position is changed. The toolbars are locked, so in order to move them to the desired place I have to unlock.
I'm setting up some custom toolbars and that's no problem, but what I'd like to do is have one of the buttons be a toggle, so the icon changes depending on what state it is in. I'm just having a bit of trouble figuring out how I find those buttons programatically from within C#. I've included Autodesk.Autocad.Customization which gives me the Toolbar, Tool bar button, etc classes, but I don't know how to find the existing toolbars from the running session of AutoCAD.
I am in the process of setting up a new computer and I just installed AutoCAD Mechanical 2012 which I have on the older computer that I am replacing.
Is it possible to copy specific files from my old computer to the new one so that I don't have to go through the process of setting up the desktop and tool bars all over again?
How can I turn off the NAVCUBE and NAVBAR features permanently? If I set either NAVCUBEDISPLAY or NAVBARDISPLAY to 0 (zero) in a session, both items (annoyingly) reappear the next time I launch AutoCAD.Per another post on the AutoCAD 2012 forum, I've tried setting these variables in the registry here:
instructs the reader to use a string value (REG_SZ) and set the value to "O" (presumably for "Off"; but that would conflict with "On"). I tried it with both "O" and "OFF".
So I've tried that approach; but it's not working: these UI-cluttering features (that I don't want to see) reappear upon launch. I've also tried setting these as 32-bit and 64-bit values (to zero). But that hasn't worked either.
So we just upgraded from 2007 (it's a long and unrelated story why it's taken us so long to upgrade). The other thing I've noticed is that when I drag the command-line box and dock it at the bottom (I want it permanently docked at the bottom), upon the next launch of AutoCAD, it appears again in the hovering undocked position. It's very annoying that AutoCAD doesn't automatically remember and respect the user's preferences. And since I'm ranting, my other impression with AutoCAD 2013 is just how incredibly slow it is. I've got respectable hardware (5.9 Windows experience index), yet AutoCAD 2013 launches like a dog.
On two occasions now since last software update, when I open Autocad LT 2013, my tool bars are all gone. I use a customized layout/workspace based off the original/classic layout option. When I change layout to drafting/annotation, toolbars for that layout appear, but when I switch back to my saved layout, all tool bars are still gone and I have to go through whole process of adding the ones I want again.
I went to use my laptop with autocad LT 2012 which I do not use that much. When I lookd all the Icons on the tool bars are missing. The tabs still work but it is hard to figure out what they do. I have not changed any settings.
I've recently upgraded from AC 2007 on Windows to AC 2013 for MAC. I like all the improvements except for constraints pop up that comes after I make a line or polyline. I have figured out how to temporarily delete them by using DELCONSTRAINT but once I make a new line they return. I would like to permanently turn off the constraints but have not figured out how.
Just installed AutoCAD 2012, started to set up my tools and found many of the ACAD toolbars displaying the wrong, or no icon for the commands. Example: Modify TB
displays "move" for erase "mirror" for rotate "fillet" for explode
This is true with the Draw TB, Dimension TB, UCS TB...and more..I have not even customized any toolbars yet...just turned on/off the AutoCAD ones.
When I first downloaded gimp it worked great. Now the side tool bars are gone and I don't know how to restore them. I've attached a picture of what it looks like when I open gimp so you can see it's only the main center window that opens.
Im now using Autocad 2013 and when I click in the open area of the drawing the xclip windows from the many xclipped block in the darwing all highlight at once. See example attached It is very distracting. Is there a way to turn that feature off?
Points began showing up in my xref'd file. When I click them, they select the xref, so they are objects and not artifacts. I can XLIST the points in the xref and turn on/off those layers but in the base file, these points do not exist anywhere.
This is the only article I could find on the mystery dots: [URL]
I tried the solution to COPYBASE, delete all, and purge, but they persist. It is happening on at least two layers.
while working on a new file, which only has our 4 standard textstyles, something happened at some point during the work period where multiple textstyles named "AUDIT_1_12030....." and counting up appeared. over 40 of them.
they are all somehow embedded within the each object in the file, even lines, which confuses me. Noweven if i wanted to just copy most of the project excluding blocks, dims, leaders and text, (which was my original assumption that the textstyles were in there somewhere), I cant. I usually am able to remove unwanted textstyles through the TXTMRG LISP/VBA macro. It has no effect this time.
This is a problem running through only some of my drawings, I have tried forcing the z value to 0, no change. I have tried setting the ucs to current, world, no change. I have tried to flatten the text, no change.
I have a linetype that is a drain line so it's dashed and has a "D" within it along with an arrow pointing in the direction of flow. The drawing I have contains many of these lines ehich display properly in the viewport meaning you can see the dashes, D's and arrows.
Problem is, I got an as-built from a contractor as pasted it into my drawing. His lines look fine in my model space, but in my viewport the lines appear solid and you don't see the dashes, D's or arrows. I tried MATCHPROP to make the contractors lines match my existing lines but that did not work. I tried andjusting the linetype scale but that doesn't work either.
I am facing problem in my AutoCAD2013 (Ultimate version) -
1.While opening any file an alert message is appearing on the screen, for closing the same I Have to use ( X) close many times. 2 After opening the file every time I have to set the AUTOcad default setting once again, it is taking too much time,
I am not in a position to format my PC now, The snap shot is attached herewith.
