I am in the process of setting up a new computer and I just installed AutoCAD Mechanical 2012 which I have on the older computer that I am replacing.
Is it possible to copy specific files from my old computer to the new one so that I don't have to go through the process of setting up the desktop and tool bars all over again?
The color, linetype and line width sections of the toolbar no longer show on the working screen but they do show on the toolbar manager. How do I recover them?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble setting up my toolbars. I position them the way I want, but as soon as I switch back from a different workspace (lets say3D modeling) the position of the toolbars change. Also I can't get the scroll bars to disappear for good, they always come back
Here is what I do exactly:
1. Change the content and the position of the toolbars (acad classic workspace)
2. Lock down the toolbars
3. Go to options => profiles, create a new profile (add to list), set current
4. Change workspace to 3D modeling
5. Change workspace back to acad classic

The result is: content of the toolbars is the way I want, but the position is changed. The toolbars are locked, so in order to move them to the desired place I have to unlock.
I'm setting up some custom toolbars and that's no problem, but what I'd like to do is have one of the buttons be a toggle, so the icon changes depending on what state it is in. I'm just having a bit of trouble figuring out how I find those buttons programatically from within C#. I've included Autodesk.Autocad.Customization which gives me the Toolbar, Tool bar button, etc classes, but I don't know how to find the existing toolbars from the running session of AutoCAD.
View 9 Replies View RelatedOn two occasions now since last software update, when I open Autocad LT 2013, my tool bars are all gone. I use a customized layout/workspace based off the original/classic layout option. When I change layout to drafting/annotation, toolbars for that layout appear, but when I switch back to my saved layout, all tool bars are still gone and I have to go through whole process of adding the ones I want again.

I went to use my laptop with autocad LT 2012 which I do not use that much. When I lookd all the Icons on the tool bars are missing. The tabs still work but it is hard to figure out what they do. I have not changed any settings.

How do I permanently keep the unwanted tool bars from appearing? Also, in the upper left corner of the screen the following appears: [-][Top][2D Wireframe]. How do I get rid of if?
Just installed AutoCAD 2012, started to set up my tools and found many of the ACAD toolbars displaying the wrong, or no icon for the commands. Example: Modify TB
displays "move" for erase
"mirror" for rotate
"fillet" for explode
This is true with the Draw TB, Dimension TB, UCS TB...and more..I have not even customized any toolbars yet...just turned on/off the AutoCAD ones.

Clicking on the standard palettes that load with ACAD will not even work. We have also tried to make new ones and the will not MAKE (for lack of words).
Here is the Autocad warning it gives us:
Unable to execute the tool. Possible causes are:
-The tool is not registered properly. Please check your installation.
-the tool is from another application and is incompatible with the current application.
We are running a new copy and it IS registered.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI draw a lot of custom metal products at my work, many times they require an isometric view to fully understand what needs to be fabricated. I need to show what is welded on top of what, which usually involves me drawing out a whole line, and then large amounts of trimming to show what gets layered underneath. It is annoying but not so bad until the design gets changed, and then I basically have to start over again because any changes at all cause all the lines to not match up. Is there an easier way to do this?
I have tried drawing these in 3-d, but my computer freezes up on me too much. I was thinking if there was a way to draw something so that it is solid, I can then use draw order to show which bar is to be welded where. The only way I know how to do that now, uses solid hatching, and then prints the solid area solid black, and you can't see my anything but a black grid, not showing layers at all. I'm attaching an example of what I sometimes draw,

I've attached a PDF to my drawing and when I zoom in a bit it shows horizontal bars all over the PDF. The bars show up when printing as well. This is the first time it has ever happened to me.
My PDF Underlay contrast is set to 100, fade to 0, monochrome No, and Adjust colors for background Yes.

I'm trying to learn autocad and I just downloaded the 2012 version. I can't figure out how to make the modelspace look the format in all the tutorial videos. I don't have a big menu bar on the top or bottom. It's so hard for me to follow videos when nothing looks the same and I can't find the buttons/commands.
How to change the format/menu bars?
I'm having an issue with the action bar locations. While I am creating the dynamic block, the actions all attach them selves to their respective parameters. The problem is that somehow at some time, the action bars change their mind and all lock down to the origin. All my action bars and icons are on top of each other. Is there a parameter to adjust to make the action bars move back to their parameters? Images are attached.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I switch tabs in my UI (I use Drafting and Annotation), they bug somehow and they don't upgrade visually. What I mean is that if I switch "Home" tab to "Annotate", it keeps showing "Home" tab maximized, but the if I click "Line" it would use "Multiline tool", as they occupy same space in corresponding tab. I can fix it temporarily by multi-clicking bar, but after next switch between tabs, it would bug again. I assume it is not hardware problem, as it used to work for me, then I reinstalled my OS and bug started.

I looked through the discussion groups and couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for. Our office recently upgraded their server. Since this happened, my dual monitor blinks when highlighting objects or zooming in and out. Plus, it adds extra menu bars (gray horizontal bars).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have CS2 Premium which I'm running on an older PowerPC Mac (G5 - Dual 2.3 GHz ) running OS 10.4.11. I've had this setup for many many years (registered/activated with Adobe) but suddenly one day I could no longer launch my Photoshop app: when I clicked on the Pshop icon it would start the launch (open) procedure ... and then almost instantly it would quit (in just a few seconds ... before the application even got to the 'title/credit' screen).
I've recently tried uninstalling CS2 (everything except Acrobat) and I ended up doing a manual uninstall of Version Cue. I've been on Macs for 20+ years so figured this would be a pretty straightforward procedure - uninstall -> reinstall and then back to work. Nope.
I'm attempting a fresh installation direct from the original CS2 CDs. In any event, when I try to (re)install CS2 - and after going through the standard screens with Adobe's usage terms agreement and installation hard disk selection - I arrive at the screen where one selects which application(s) to install by checking the various boxes (or alternately, to install the entire suite) but the 'Adobe Photoshop CS2/Adobe ImageReady CS2' line and checkbox are grayed out, so it will not allow me to check them and continue with the Photoshop installation process.
How do I re-install AI CC after it's been uninstalled because the initial install was corrupt? AI isn't availbale for download again in the app section of CC.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just finished watching a tutorial by Deke McClellend about setting up my workspace. He talked about the Title Bar above the palletes and it shows as dark gray in is video. He showed how he could change some of the pallets to Icons.
I don't have a title bar above my pallets. Have I turned something off?
I know he is using a Beta Version of CS3 but I have seen the Icon Palletes on someone else's machine that was not a Beta Version. In the help menu it mentions the Dark Gray Title Bar.
