I've recently upgraded from AC 2007 on Windows to AC 2013 for MAC. I like all the improvements except for constraints pop up that comes after I make a line or polyline. I have figured out how to temporarily delete them by using DELCONSTRAINT but once I make a new line they return. I would like to permanently turn off the constraints but have not figured out how.

to show the Jack opening & closing.
Although it can now open & close with ease,
how I can make the crank turn with the screw rod at the same time as the scissor car jack opens & closes.
I've looked through all the FAQs I can find, and I can see how to change the settings each time I print, but I'd like to make it so that it always prints the pictures several shades lighter. I also need to recalibrate the printer, but this has always been a problem. Is there a way to permanently set up a printing profile that will always automatically apply?
I'm using Lightroom 3.
I am not able to change a constraint in SQLite:
1. I created a schema in SQLite witth AutoCAD Map 3D 2012.
2. I set a constraint to one field: a list with 3 entries valid for the property. For example:
Test 1
Test 2
Test 3
3. I draw some lines
In the schema editor I want to change the constraint:
- But I am not able to add a new entry “Test 4” to the list from step 2
- I am also not able to change an existing entries (“test 1” to “test 1 new”)
Is it possible to change the settings of a constraint?
The help [URL] says: “You cannot edit a schema to convert an existing field to use a different constraint type if the table already contains data. The table must be empty.” But I do not want to change the “constraint type”. I want to change the entries of the list.
I know how to go in to my settings and change the default page settings on a new design, but I want my settings to ALWAYS come up with the settings I change them to. How do I set these so that every time I start Xara I don't have to go change the settings AGAIN?

instructs the reader to use a string value (REG_SZ) and set the value to "O" (presumably for "Off"; but that would conflict with "On"). I tried it with both "O" and "OFF".
So I've tried that approach; but it's not working: these UI-cluttering features (that I don't want to see) reappear upon launch. I've also tried setting these as 32-bit and 64-bit values (to zero). But that hasn't worked either.
So we just upgraded from 2007 (it's a long and unrelated story why it's taken us so long to upgrade). The other thing I've noticed is that when I drag the command-line box and dock it at the bottom (I want it permanently docked at the bottom), upon the next launch of AutoCAD, it appears again in the hovering undocked position. It's very annoying that AutoCAD doesn't automatically remember and respect the user's preferences. And since I'm ranting, my other impression with AutoCAD 2013 is just how incredibly slow it is. I've got respectable hardware (5.9 Windows experience index), yet AutoCAD 2013 launches like a dog.
I have created a custom tool bar for ACAD 2013. Each time I start a new ACAD session, my tool bar is not docked at the top of the screen and the other standard tool bars I do not want appear.
How do I permanently keep the unwanted tool bars from appearing? Also, in the upper left corner of the screen the following appears: [-][Top][2D Wireframe]. How do I get rid of if?
In my line of work, the constraints are fantastic. I do use them a lot for the design and drafting.But, somehow, they are slightly buggy. I wanted to know if there is something I can do to make them better.The problems are:
1- Sometimes I can't add a constraint that I KNOW will not overconstraint and that CAN be added. This happens for all the constraints types. For example, sometimes I have one big block with the plot plan of the factory and I want to make a constraint of one other smaller block (an equipment, for example). The constraint is a simple coincident. The plotplan has several objects constrained to it (blocks, lines, etc.) but the smaller equipment block has no constraint whatsoever. Why doesn't it work?

To activate the new position of the assembly of approx 5k instances takes about 5 minutes in IV 2013 when using Drive constraint. The larger the assembly the longer it takes
In IV2011 takes about 10 seconds. I've never seen the "Not responding" sign in Drive constraint window in previous versions. I'm just wondering how can avoid this "New feature" of 2013.
Just upgraded to 2013 about a week ago. Random part files seem to be giving me the same error message "A cyclical constraint dependency has been detected." Some of these parts are ones that worked fine in 2012 and some are ones that I created in 2013 and worked fine for a while, but then started giving me the error later on.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am designing a vertical axis wind turbine just for some practice (just started using Inventor) and everything was going smoothly until I tried to "animate" it spinning. First, I set up a work plane that goes through the center of the structure, and then I clicked angle constraint "explicit reference vector." After watching several youtube videos, I figured that I should click on the work plane, click on another reference point, and then click another point that would be orthogonal to those two (right?). Well after I choose the first point, Inventor will only allow me to choose the center axis as the second option (which I think should be the third option).

Just upgraded a user to Autodesk Building Design Suite Premium 2013 but AutoCad 2013 and AutoCad MEP 2013 are not saving settings.
On first use the crosshair is large and angled, not standard. If I run "Rest values to default" then the settings are standard until I either restart AutoCAD or open a drawing then have the same strange cross hair.
Have tried creating a new profile, setting it as default startup profile by altering the shortcut but no matter what settings are not saved and revert to strange cross hair once AutoCAD is re-opened or a drawing is opening.If logon to computer as a user without a roaming profile all works fine.
Happens every year. Upgrade and spend half a day or more trying to get everything back to the way I had it. All I have is a couple small toolbars for commands that are several clicks deep in the ribbons and I want them "right there" all the time.
I thought Autodesk 360 might be a good tool for this. All it did was DOWNLOAD some old settings and destroy one of the toolbars I'd created. They really need an override in there to specify upload, download, overwrite or don't.
I'm trying to migrate (I guess that's the technical term) my settings from 2013 Mechanical to 2014 Mechanical. It's probably too late already, after 360 did its deal, but I really want to get this down so we don't go through it every year anymore.
I maintain that PTC had this part of it down Pro/ENGINEER. You had a config file that was editable plain text.

Is there any way to view an object and turn off snapping only for that specific object or layer? For instance, can you make frozen layers visible somehow so they can be viewed, but not snapped to? Or is there another way to accomplish this?
