AutoCAD 2013 :: Turn Off All Layers At The Same Time?
Mar 25, 2013I have lots of layers and I need to turn off all of them not one by one.

View 9 RepliesSetting that will turn on snap all of the time instead of just when a command is active. You can't even tell that snap is on unless certain commands are active. The cursors doesn't snap on the BREAK command thus I can't use a two point break with any accuracy because the cursor doesn't snap until after the object is selected.
I need snap ALL THE TIME not just when certain commands are active.
I often draw over topography lines and use them for reference but I don't want to snap to them. Is there any way to view an object and turn off snapping only for that specific object or layer? For instance, can you make frozen layers visible somehow so they can be viewed, but not snapped to? Or is there another way to accomplish this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedTurn on/off layers in the current viewport only, I’m wondering if there is a command that can be plugged on the “quick access toolbar” by which one can turn on/off layers in the current viewport only.
The available command to do so is “Freeze and thaw in current viewport” (attached) and it sounds it can’t be plugged in the “quick access toolbar”!
Is there a way to plug the command “Freeze and thaw in current viewport” in the “quick access toolbar” (attached)?

View 9 Replies View RelatedGo to I - button in Inventor, then to the recent files list, hover the mouse over any file in the list.
You will see a preview of the file & later In about a 1 second delay (keep the mouse still) the preview expands a date/time info.
Where switch/checkbox is to turn off/on this date/time info?

I only thought I hated microsoft. Any settings that will turn on snap all of the time instead of just when a command is active.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI would like to increase the font size in many text layers at a time by selecting them in the layers panel. The font increases, but the text boxes don't expand to fit the increased size text. So I am having to make each box bigger manually. Is there a way to have the boxes expand to fit bigger text automatically through the layers panel?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI’ve just worked on a series of clients drawing using AutoCad 2009. They are using AutoCad 2013. out of 20 or so drawings several drawings when opening with 2013 open up with Errors requesting recovery is required due to any number of errors ranging from 3 to 7 on average. The error message asks [yes] to recover and it aborts or [no] to continue and the drawing opens ok without further error. If I recover the drawings, and save-as 2013 or other, the same errors appear regardless. However if I open the same drawings using my version of 2009, I didn’t get any errors. The original drawings were compatible with 2009 without conversion.
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy gimp 2.8.6 makes majority normal layers turn into text layers..
Even if i "discard text information" from layer..and then save it as .xcf it doesnt work! Same layers appear as text layers when i open that .xcf Its not a big deal but it really slows me down when im working with layers..
I know there is a command/button to turn all layers back on if most of them are off, and you want them back on. I use it all the time.
My question: is there a similar command to turn them all off? If not, why not? It makes just as much sense to me. Sometimes I want to turn all of them off, and then just turn one back on.
I come from the FCP world. When I edit, my clips don't change speeds just bc they are placed in a certain area of the timeline.
In SMOKE 2013 they do. I want to turn off that feature if its possible.
When I extend a clip Id like it to stop when its done and not keep stretching itself as long as I keep pulling it so that it time warps. Same when I trim a clip. Id like for it to trim not time warp to fit to its new shorter length.
My timeline has all sorts of sped up and slowed down clips.

I have done one job with new camcorder and the time and date stamp is on the video. I have looked all through the manual and I cannot find out how to turn off the time and date stamp. Do I turn off at camcorder or with Premiere Pro? I don't want it on my videos.

The problem is when I turn off all the layers I am using and I leave the ones I'm not using on their is noting on my screen??? why they are their and why I can't get rid of them. I'm trying to keep everything neat and they're messing me up!!

If I want to trunoff/on some layers in different layouts, the best way is to use "vp freeze" column in layers properties manager. This way I can manipulate layers' visibility without altering them in MS or other layouts.
Left to "vp freeze" column there is "new vp freeze". I don't know what is this one?
I was wondering if it's possible to turn snap off on a set of layers whilst keeping it on for others?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a one drawing in MS with 5 layers.
I have 2 viewports in one layer tab from that drawing with different scales.
I want to turnoff 2 layers in one of the VP but have them turned on on the other VP.
What is this used for? From reading, it seems as though if you use this command it is a way to turn on and shut off layers?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've "Binged" and "Googled" this for days, and have searched this forum internally with no luck.

How can I tell AC to turn off any/all layers that are empty (i.e. have no objects, no block associations, no rasters etc).
I don't want to purge these empty layers as I will eventually need them.
Scenario:
All layers are turned on and visible, after I have purged empty layers that won't be needed, there are still empty layers left I will need to use later, I wish to turn off only these layers.
(There may be 20 or so layers so I was hoping for a programmatic way of doing this.)
I would like to turn off all the existing layers in active document. I have found in developer's guide how to turn off one layer with specified layer name but can not apply it on all layers with any layername.
I tried to get all the Object ID's in layer table and then for each object turn layer off but seems that it does not work.
<CommandMethod("FilterLayers")> _Public Sub FilterLayers()'' Get the current document and databaseDim acDoc As Document = Application.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocumentDim acCurDb As Database = acDoc.Database'' Start a transactionUsing acTrans As Transaction = acCurDb.TransactionManager.StartTransaction()'' Open the Layer table for readDim LayerTable As LayerTable = acTrans.GetObject(acCurDb.LayerTableId, OpenMode.ForRead)Dim LayerTableRecord As LayerTableRecord = acTrans.GetObject(LayerTable.ObjectId, OpenMode.ForWrite)For Each ObjectId In LayerTableLayerTableRecord.IsOff = TrueNext'' Save the changes and dispose of the transactionacTrans.Commit()End UsingEnd Sub
From Model I made 3 view ports. How can I turn layers off in each viewport?
View 9 Replies View RelatedHow to turn on/off the layers in a filter?
In our company we use standard layerfilters, so they should be the same name in every drawing (else its gonna be a good idea to do so).
If i know the command on how to turn off of on layers who are set in a filter i can make a macro to do it for me, but i dunno if there is an way to turn of those layers with an command.
I have a question regarding AutoCAD 2012 and when it comes to locking layers.
When working on the basement layer I would like to see that layer locked in turn not affecting my other layers, ie: my house/garage/second-floor.
I don't have this problem on all my files, only a select few. When i save a file and reopen, all the viewports in which I have frozen layers are all reset. All layers are turned back on and I have to go through every viewport and refreeze layers. This problem has persisted long enough that I unfortunately know when I close a file I will have to reorganize the layers next time I open the file. Is this a setting issue or this a bug in the file?
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some reason it has been doing this every since I edited photos from my external. I have deleted those photos edited in LR3 and it still opens up. I am completely new to using LR.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to apply the time remapping settings from my original clips to those that I've colored in DaVinci Resolve. I turned off all effects on my colored clips and graded the entire clip, not just the segment in my original timeline. My workflow thus far has been this:
1) Copy the original clip above the colored clip
2) Revert the speed of the original clip to 100 from where it was adjusted to (the speed of the original clips varies from 500% to 1000% across the timeline)
3) Turn off Time Remapping on the original clips (this is done by deleting all keyframes)
4) Find the In and Out points of the original clip through timecode
5) Set the In and Out points of the colored clip to those of the original
6) Make another copy of the original clip and set it to 100 but don't turn off time remapping
7) Copy the time remapping settings of the original clip to the colored clip
8) Convert the colored clip to the original clip's speed (usually between 500% and 1000%)
Now, in several cases this works, but in others it falls apart at Step 3. When we turn off time remapping, the original clip gets grey stripes over it in the timeline and we cannot see the footage in the Program or Source viewing monitors. We have tried reversing steps 2 and 3, but when we do that the clip gets shrunk down to 1 frame and we lose the original In and Out points.
I have an old routine that freezes layers that are off. I would like it to also turn off layers that are frozen. It took a while but I think I figured out how the old routine works. I was having trouble determining how the routine would know if a layer was off or not. I found if the color was a negative number that meant the layer was off (cond ((< (dxf 62 l) 0) (command "f" (dxf 2 l)))). How do I tell if the layer is frozen?
I was also wondering what the character was after the DXF code ie. (dxf 62 l). Is is a lowercase L or an upper case i and what function does it have?
Below is the old routine that freezes layers that are off.
(defun c:fo (/ l dxf code list)
(defun dxf (code list)
(cdr (assoc code list))
);defun
(setq l (tblnext "layer" T))
[code].........
I have 2 quick questions:
1- How do I turn OFF the display of Layers in Layout viewports, but they remain ON in the Model?
2- How do I rotate a group of objects to match my orthogonal UCS?
In model space if i go to layers manager and turn off a layer why does it still show up in model space. Civil 3d 2013
