How to turn on/off the layers in a filter?
In our company we use standard layerfilters, so they should be the same name in every drawing (else its gonna be a good idea to do so).
If i know the command on how to turn off of on layers who are set in a filter i can make a macro to do it for me, but i dunno if there is an way to turn of those layers with an command.
is there any filters to turn a photo into a line drawing?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy company uses tons of Xrefs - wonderful, however problem comes when having to navigate through 100's of layers to get to the main drawings layers. So I tried using the layer filters to just show my main drawings layers. Here is the problem, I you can select show all layers, not good, can select just the xrefs (show all of them or show just one of them, etc...), or you can show just the used layers - I tried that, but when you create a new layer it is not included in that filter. I tried setting up a custom layer filter, however, I don't know how to right the name or what selection to make that would allow me to exclude a set of layers.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWe have a number of standard layer group filters. We also have a utility that allows us to re-create our standard layers with the push of a button, making it easy to use the PURGE command to keep the drawings clean.
We have noticed that once we purge our layers out, the group filters are broken. After reinserting the standard layers, some of them show no layers, and others show all of the layers, neither of which is correct. It seems that once a Group Layer Filter no longer sees the layers it was set to include in the layer list, it forgets all its settings and becomes useless.
How can we continue to use PURGE without losing the functionality of our layer filters?
my gimp 2.8.6 makes majority normal layers turn into text layers..
Even if i "discard text information" from layer..and then save it as .xcf it doesnt work! Same layers appear as text layers when i open that .xcf Its not a big deal but it really slows me down when im working with layers..
I know there is a command/button to turn all layers back on if most of them are off, and you want them back on. I use it all the time.
My question: is there a similar command to turn them all off? If not, why not? It makes just as much sense to me. Sometimes I want to turn all of them off, and then just turn one back on.
I'm using CS3 and have a project with many layers. When I have a layer selected (not the background layer) and go to apply a filter, most of the options are grayed out. I can't get to artistic filter or brush strokes or sketch, etc. If I opened the file separately, as in not adding it as a layer to my main project, all the layers work. None of the layers are locked.

If I want to trunoff/on some layers in different layouts, the best way is to use "vp freeze" column in layers properties manager. This way I can manipulate layers' visibility without altering them in MS or other layouts.
Left to "vp freeze" column there is "new vp freeze". I don't know what is this one?
I was wondering if it's possible to turn snap off on a set of layers whilst keeping it on for others?

I want to turnoff 2 layers in one of the VP but have them turned on on the other VP.

(I'm running AutoCad 2005 btw)
How can I tell AC to turn off any/all layers that are empty (i.e. have no objects, no block associations, no rasters etc).
I don't want to purge these empty layers as I will eventually need them.
Scenario:
All layers are turned on and visible, after I have purged empty layers that won't be needed, there are still empty layers left I will need to use later, I wish to turn off only these layers.
(There may be 20 or so layers so I was hoping for a programmatic way of doing this.)
I am working on Autocad 2012, and am having a problem drawing on faces under another face, whilst working on 3d objects. I have the view set to 2d wireframe, and can select objects underneath whilst not drawing/modifying anything, however as soon as i try to draw it just selects the uppermost face to draw on.
Is there a button to allow me to snap to different layers whilst drawing?
I just installed Photoshop CS3 on Win XP Prof and when started using it I could not apply any filters to layers.
Created an 8 bit RGB file went to Filter Gallery, chose a filter, saw the results, pressed OK and nothing happend.
Logged in as Administrator and Filter Galleries worked fine so I assume there is a permission problem but could not find which file to change permission for.
I want to change permissions so a "Users" account can use the filters.
Running CS3 on Vista 64bit.
When I try to apply a filter (in this case distort-glass) on a regular RGB 8bit layer(1 or above), it wont work. If however, I draw something on the base (background) layer and apply the filter to that, it works fine. Seems it does not like transparent backgrounds.
What the require setting to enable me to lock of several layer continuously when i click the "LAYER OFF" button at the toolbar? I wish to set to be like whenever i use the "LAYER OFF" command, i can direct just continue to click several layers for it to be turn off.

Is there any way to view an object and turn off snapping only for that specific object or layer? For instance, can you make frozen layers visible somehow so they can be viewed, but not snapped to? Every time I change views in 2013, new layers added to the drawing turn off. How do I stop this? The active layer also defalts to the active one I started with.

Turn on/off layers in the current viewport only, I’m wondering if there is a command that can be plugged on the “quick access toolbar” by which one can turn on/off layers in the current viewport only.
The available command to do so is “Freeze and thaw in current viewport” (attached) and it sounds it can’t be plugged in the “quick access toolbar”!

I made an autocad file. with many xref files. there are layers. and the layers are all the same, only the name for the layer its the name of the xref link . but how can i turn it off at once.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI don't have this problem on all my files, only a select few. When i save a file and reopen, all the viewports in which I have frozen layers are all reset. All layers are turned back on and I have to go through every viewport and refreeze layers. This problem has persisted long enough that I unfortunately know when I close a file I will have to reorganize the layers next time I open the file. Is this a setting issue or this a bug in the file?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an old routine that freezes layers that are off. I would like it to also turn off layers that are frozen. It took a while but I think I figured out how the old routine works. I was having trouble determining how the routine would know if a layer was off or not. I found if the color was a negative number that meant the layer was off (cond ((< (dxf 62 l) 0) (command "f" (dxf 2 l)))). How do I tell if the layer is frozen?
I was also wondering what the character was after the DXF code ie. (dxf 62 l). Is is a lowercase L or an upper case i and what function does it have?
