Photoshop :: Increase Font Size In Many Text Layers At A Time By Selecting In Layers Panel
May 9, 2013
I would like to increase the font size in many text layers at a time by selecting them in the layers panel. The font increases, but the text boxes don't expand to fit the increased size text. So I am having to make each box bigger manually. Is there a way to have the boxes expand to fit bigger text automatically through the layers panel?
I have found this post from April where the bug was acknowledged in the beta:
[URL]......... Â I now have the official release of CS6, and I am still seeing this issue. And for clarification, here's what the issue is: Â - I start off creating a text layer with a font size of 20px. - I then transform this layer to make it larger. - I copy the layer over so I have identical text layers. - When I select each individually, I am shown the new, larger font size, we'll just say 40px. But when I select both together, it shows the original font size of 20px in the character palette. When I increase the font size with both selected to say 30px, it actually makes the text more like 60px. Â Will this bug actually get fixed?
how to select items on the canvas, aside for selecting each individual layer on the layers panel. have Mac os X 10.7.4, and I previously had cs5.5 on my laptop. Â I was able to use the direct select tool to select mulitple items by either dragging it would select anything in the box or using shift to select multiple items. Do I have to click on every item in the layer panel to select it on the canvas? Is there a option that I have checked when it should be unchecked?
How to disable border highlighting when selecting a smart object in the layers panel? Designing pixel-to-pixel is cumbersome when the highlight appears and temporarily extends the size of the shape by 1 px.Â
The best way to explain, is probably just say it shows up when you add "Time Remapping" to a layer.. Is there any way to show a time signature like this, without editing the layer?
I have PSE11 and purchased Paint the Moon effects. How can I view both the Layers panel and the Effects panel at the same time? Was this an option in older versions of PSE that are used in the Paint the Moon tutorials?
I am using CS2 on a XP64 machine. I am editing a .psd originally created in Photoshop 7 but saved under a different file name in CS2.When I open the file, a dialog box with this text appears: "Some text layers need to be updated before they can be used for vector output. Do you want to update these layers now?" The options are No and Update. Updating the layers changes all the text layers from font "Times New Roman" to "Radioactive", which I'm sure isn't a standard installed font. To avoid the problem in future edits, I saved the .psd under a different name through CS2 and then deleted all the offending text layers and recreated them using "Times New Roman" again. However, after saving the file and reopening it, I get the same problem as before. Should I perhaps delete the "Radioactive" font? I'd really rather not have to enter all the text in again.
I have a world map with a text layer for country names. I hide the country names as needed by clicking on the 'eye' icon for Toggle Visibility in the Layers panel. I've inadvertently hidden one name and I need to know how to find it in the Text panel so I can make it visible again. How do I seatrch for a name in the Text panel?
I want to select all text frames on all visible layers. The script below will select all text frames even in groups but when a layer with text on it is invisible the script will error.(target layer cannot be modified) Â if (app.documents.length > 0 ) { var doc = app.activeDocument; var numTextFrames = 0; for (Â i = 0; i < doc.textFrames.length; i++ ) { textArtRange = doc.textFrames[i]; textArtRange.selected = true; } } Â So I made this script to select text frames on only the visible layers but it now misses text that is in a group. Â var layerCount = activeDocument.layers.length; var docSelected = activeDocument.selection; for (i = 0; i < layerCount; i++)
[Code] .....
Why it does not selected textframes in a group when done this way and is there a way to get all textframes selected on all visible layers?
n CS3 I could change the size of thumbnails to be large, but in CS5 it only allows me to do that from the upper bar (left side top). I can barely see the brush imags on the palette (right side). How do I change them also? Here are the two screenshots showing how dramatically different the sizes are. In CS3 I could adjust them with the down arrow on the palette, but that option is not available on CS5. (See 3rd and 4th screenshot of cs3 versus cs5.) CS3 has "large thumbnail option).
I am trying to get a white layer with see through writing which reveals the background image underneath. (Almost like I have put a stencil over a photograph). I have discovered this is called a clipping mask.
However, I am having difficulty using a clipping mask over multiple text layers. It seems to only do it to one layer directly beneath. I do not want to merge the text layers as I want to mess about with the design a fair bit.
I have been using PSE since the early days. MY sight has limitations and I need to know if there is a way to increase font sise in program windows? Otherwise it will be useless to me.
I'd have thought (since this has been a problem since 9 and that HD displays are fairly common now) it would have been addressed. I still can't find a way to increase the font size in PE 11, though. Am I missing something? It seems the menu fonts have increased in size in proportion to what Windows font size I'm using, but all the other fonts in PE 11 are still too tiny to read meaning (unless I am missing something) the software is still unusable (unless I sacrifice resolution).
With the demise of my beloved Fireworks, I am giving Illustrator CC a try. Right off the bat it is unusable due to the microscopic font sizes in the UI, panels in particular. Is there any way to make the UI more readable?
Time to increase the size of the options box as well as give it a little attention. It hasn't changed much since, ... well, forever.
Monitors are huge, so lets make it happen. I don't like having to scroll sideways with the slider to see full name of macros or tools when customizing.
I am creating a layered marine chart with reference points. I've imported the chart and am creating text layers with a reference number in them.
I have about 700 of these to add - a daunting task - but it's for a NZ coastguard unit, so is worthwhile.
The idea is to have a layer with all our reference points on it, so when a chart is updated, we can just import the chart; add back the reference points layers and print it out.
(Why? NZ baynames, danger spots etc usually have 2 names; an english name and a maori name - sometimes we have to cross reference when on the water to find the correct place).
Is creating text layers the best way of doing this?
Is there any way of increasing the size of all the text - instead of having to edit 700 text layers?
I am just learning Illustrator. I use a PC at work, and a laptop at home. I have several layers of text in my document. The text is larger on my laptop than it is on my PC. The "character information" doesn't change (if it's 100 on my PC, it's 100 on my laptop), and the placement doesn't change, just the size of text. All other items such as placed objects and drawn graphics stay the same. I have been saving the file into a server folder, then copying it over to my laptop desktop at home. Have not had this happen in Photoshop or In Design. Is this a document issue, a preferences issue or a font issue?
We use AutoCad to name our dxf files for our Burn Table and whenever we get a new part it is a repetitive task to input layers and common text. So what I am curious is can AutoCAD input the layers and text automatically using a Macro?
I want the Macro to put in 6 layers and choose the layer color and title then input text boxes with word in 3 different layers. There will be about a total of 10 different text boxes with text already put in the boxes by the Macro.
I often will borrow groups and layers from one document and drag them into a new or a different PS document to borrow the layers and formatting so I am not starting over from scratch with a design that I just need to re-work into a different size.
But in the last two weeks, when I drag the layers over, they start mysteriously changing into other layers that I did not drag over. What is causing this bug? It wasn't there before as I have performed this action many times in various projects. I am using PS CS6 on a Mac Book Pro.
Usually when I want to work on a different layer, I will select the layer in the layers panel first, or alternatively hold down ctrl and left click on the image in my actual design that's on the layer I wish to change to. However I must have done "something" because now no matter what layer I am on, if I click on a part of my design that's on a different layer to which I am working on, it will automatically select this image and change to this layer. This is highly annoying because every time I am trying to edit something or move something around I suddenly find I am on a different layer again!
I'm not sure how I did this or how to change it back. When I started this design a few days ago it was working normally.
I've been having issues selecting my layers in CS2. The first thing I noticed is that i'm not able to select more than one unless I put them in a folder. The second issue, new tonight as far as i can tell, happens when i'm selecting a layer in the image by clicking on the graphic and and it doesn't select the one i'm on but rather a layer that is turned off in a folder above. Does anyone know if there is something i can do to reset my layer properties?
