Time to increase the size of the options box as well as give it a little attention. It hasn't changed much since, ... well, forever.
Monitors are huge, so lets make it happen. I don't like having to scroll sideways with the slider to see full name of macros or tools when customizing.
Is there a way to increase the size of the fonts and the icons? I have V X4 if it make a difference. My screen resolution 1920 x 1080. Font size is 154%

i've a problem with two options in the configuration of CorelDraw X4. Both option reset, after restarting the application...The first option is "Doublecklick image, to edit in PHOTO-Paint" and the second option is the performance of POWERTrace (I choose highest quality, but CorelDraw resets to better performance).

When I merge in the price field for an item I want it to show on the label with the cents in superscript as opposed to using a decimal and full sized cents text. Is this possible in any version of CorelDraw using the print merge feature?
Keep in mind that I also have the price field in an envelope so that the price takes up the full size allotted on the label whether the price is $1.99 or $999.99.
There are no "initial view" options on PDF export.

I was specifically looking for what the check-box "Workspace>>Display>>Use Offscreen Image" does. I can't see anything different by checking or un-checking...
Any comprehensive list...don't know why Corel didn't feel it should describe these options in a "? > click popup" as many of the Microsoft option pages have!
Whenever I perform a PrintMerge the print dialog and its options are reset everytime I leave the print dialog.
Usually you hit print set parameters and hit apply, you now can cancel the dialog and hit print again, your previous settings should still be there. Same goes if you actually print and want to repeat the print process, as long as you dont close the document. This works for normal printing but fails with print merge.
Every time I close the dialog (not the document) all the settings are back to default. This did not happen in X5 and is very annoying since it resets to default even if you actually hit print, forcing you to set the parameters every time.
Enable sounds in coreldraw options general section, what it does. Does it have default coreldraw sounds or windows sounds, Which sounds it alerts ? Is there any coreldraws sounds list for mouse and filter execution action sounds ? If so where ?

When I use Print Preview in X6 the print options are not saved when I exit Print Preview to make adjustments.
I make the correction - go back into Print Preview and all options have gone back to default. Is there anyway of correcting this.
Is there any solution, as powerclip is consuming much time to come out of.... and also note that it is having many objects inside the powerclip. It should not act like a normal object, consumes much memory and time

I've read about this problem in other threads, so I know it's not just me or my system.X5 shuts down many, many times every day. I don't think I've been able to work for 15 minutes straight yet without it crashing.
I am running a fast dual-core Intel, XP Pro SP3, 2 GB RAM, ATI Sapphire/Radeon 1GB card, oodles of hard drive space. I can run the hottest, most demanding games no problem. I run hundreds of other apps with no problem. I had no similar problem with X4 on this machine. I have no similar problem with other Corel apps, either.
X5 crashes still happen after I close down as many memory-resident apps as I can. I can't strip it down much further.I usually have a few (3-4) dockers open, one or two palettes, and my files include several bitmaps which may include transparencies or colour masks. I have about 650 fonts installed.
X5 shuts down on me many times during every work session. Sometimes when I am changing fonts, sometimes when editing bitmaps, sometimes when importing bitmaps, sometimes when applying a transparency. Bang - just shuts down. I can have Corelpaint open editing a bitmap and CD closes underneath it. I can open window to import a file and CD closes as I search the thumbnails. It closes when I click the change page tab.
Doesn't seem to be any specific act or function that closes it - it just shuts down. Gone. No warning. I lose everything since the previous save. Half the time the working file is corrupted, too, so I can't even restore it. I have to keep numerous versions on disk and use save-as with every save to keep just one alive.
I notice that the option to set memory usage has gone from the global options menu. Maybe it's bad memory management and we need that option back? I'd be happy to assign a higher percentage of RAM to X5.
I've spent some time designing a chart using the table tool. Now I want to adjust some column widths and add some text.
However, the mouse keeps trailing a small table icon, and all it will let me do is insert another table. I can't enter text, or highlight a row or column, for example. Most of the right mouse click options are greyed out.
How do I change from this mode for the mouse, with the Table icon switched on, to other modes where I can do other things with the table I have already created?(If I create a new table below this existing table, all is well. However, I can't grab the content in the earlier table to paste it into the new one.)
Export is weird, maintain size is checked but it dose not give the proper size. My page size is 922x1344, but the image exported is half that size.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new laptop with Windows 7 64 bit OS, and installed the CorelDraw X5(worked fine on an older XP machine) on it, the application crashes every time when the progress showing "Creating Application Environment". I tried to run it under XP compatible mode, tthe only difference is now the Regstration works, but the app still crashes every time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI work in a print shop. We do a lot of work with a printing press as well as our digital machines. Whenever we design something digitally that has grayed areas or logos, and we want to print it using our press, we need to make sure the shaded areas have "dots" so that the ink from the press will spread evenly.
In CorelDRAW X4, I used to to have it sent to the general PANTONE uncoated palette. After selecting the gray area, I would double click the color box at the bottom right, bringing up the fill window. From here, I selected the Options drop down menu, then PostScript Options. Here I could set the dots and the frequency.
Now that we've updated to CorelDRAW X5, the palette options are quite different. I want to have one centralized PANTONE unocated set that stays for everything I work in. And the big problem, is that when I do find a good gray to use (after clicking through way too many choices), the PostScript Options is grayed out and can't be clicked on.
I have a 900 x 500 px image in Adobe Illustrator, which overlaps a bit the canvas on the left side.
When I open this file with Corel, it adjusts my graphics so that it's centered on the screen. The AI file is centered on another point. Also, the canvas Corel creates is A4 sized. I always have to resize the canvas and then manually adjust the position of my graphics.
Question: How can I save an AI file so that when I open it at Corel, the position and size of the canvas will be exactly the same?
Is there a way to have my custom settings load when exporting a .jpg every time, without having to use the dropdown and select mine every single export?

Since older versions of CorelDRAW that I have set the recovery time for Auto-Backup saving time as 3 minutes only, in order to reduce the partial loss of job, when the program crashes.I'm doing a series of small illustrations vectorized (yes, hundreds of them!) and I intend to reduce this time for just 1 (one) minute!This time decreased in 2 minutes (from 3 to 1) can make a difference, because some of these vectors are made fast, and unless those two minutes, I may lose some illustrations if freezing or any other irregular behavior of the software and/or Operating System, though these illustrations are subdivided into several files (simple vectors) and do not consume a lot of RAM.
Reducing the time of Auto-Backup for just 1 min is a risk, or how it can affect the performance of the software or OS? Or one thing does not interfere to another? [URL]
I use CorelDRAW on a daily basis and recently the program takes a lot of time to open/close/save my files, or sometimes it'll simply freeze.
View 6 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this is expected behavior but I've found that it's only possible to snap to one type of guide/grid at any given time.
For example if you want to snap to a guideline in the horizontal and the pixel grid in the vertical, you won't be able to. Instead, the snap will work on the guide and completely ignore the pixel grid.
When i start corel it takes really long time to create new document. Or when i save document it also takes a lot of time. I resest workspace, clear temp directory, what else could i do?? This all started without any reason. I shout down pc, and now i turned it on, and since then corel is not working ok...
View 13 Replies View RelatedHow on earth do you export bitmaps cropped to the size of the canvas? This seems like the simplest functionality ever but i can't get it to work. For example, I am designing an advert for use online. It needs to be 600px wide x 150px high. I may want to use a background image or a photo that when placed goes beyond the edge of the canvas. Logic dictates i would only want to export the canvas with a web image (otherwise why would i have set an exact number of pixels.) However, Corel insists on exporting everything on the canvas and desktop. Surely it should allow us to choose the bounding area of the exported bitmap.
Just to clarify what I mean, i've included a screen shot showing and example original graphic and the export result. I'm sure there must be an easy way to do this. If it's one like this i can crop it easily, but sometimes a print customer will ask me to send them, for example, a 32pp booklet we have designed for them with each page as a JPG and to crop each one manually is a right pain.
I'm having a problem with my Corel x6, every time I try to start the application it stuck for a minute or so on the splash screen and then I get error 1 (Try to restarting your computer and then restarting the program).
