We have the very unfortunate need to use microstation for one of municipal clients and would like to find out how to enable the AEC objects in Microstation so when we attach a dwg I dont get squares everywhere.
View 3 RepliesI notice that there is no "AutoCAD Architecture & AutoCAD MEP 2011 Update 1 Object Enabler" for ACAD 2012 on Autodesk's website.
Why is that? Did I miss something?
I'm preparing for our office wide install of Infrastructure Design Suite 2014 so we can begin training/using Civil 3D 2014.
I’m reading through readme file for the Architecture-MEP 2014 Object Enabler & noticed that it’s installed as part of the normal installation of all AutoCAD 2014 based products, including Civil 3D…woohoo! Unfortunately, the Structural & Plant OE’s don’t appear to have a readme file. Are these also installed as part of the normal installation of C3D 2014? Or will they need to be installed separately?
I'm running Autocad 2011 another trade has upgraded to Autocad MEP 2013. I can't seem to figure out wich object enabler to download so I can see his light fixtures and equipment in my drawing, been at it for 2.5 hrs with no luck I'm raising the white flag
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been having issues recently installing Object Enabler for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 on a few machines. I downloaded the installer from the AutoDesk website, but when running, it comes up and says it can't find any install of Civil 3D 2012..
Currently have AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 and it's object enabler installed... Also have AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 installed but can't get the OE to install for it. Running the 64bit shows nothing to install to, and the 32 bit installation only shows an option for "Language Pack".
I am working with AutoCAD 2012 LT and initially received a message concerning proxy graphics that listed a number of options for viewing when opening a drawing from another source (that was from another and another, etc). At that time, I believe I chose show proxy graphics, however, I can no longer get that original message to appear, which I think told me which enablers were missing. I now get a message regarding the drawing to be compatible by exploding AEC objects or loading proxy objects enabler. I am stuck, walls have text in them, doors are shown closed.
- I have tried opening the original file again, but no longer receive the original proxy graphics message, just the New version of objects in drawing message. Can I ever get the original message back, have I somehow changed my settings?
-If I change the settings for proxyshow or proxygraphics, these items will disappear.
-How do I know which enabler to use?
I have a personal block library, that somehow has gotten "infected" with AEC. I'm not using any AEC objects on purpose - but loading my library file now loads the various AEC object enablers. How can I find the mysterious entity that is using these?

Before this problem appears, if I select one line then another line one-by-one, they are all selected.
But now, when I select one line then another line one-by-one, only last one is highlighted as selected (dashed line, two blue endpoints, and one blue middlepoint), the other one is not.
How do I switch back to the previous one?

how or why objects aren't being highlighted BEFORE you select them?
In 2011 I was able to (say preview the object) highlight the object before selecting it.
I noticed this when I have a few lines on top of each other and couldn't 'toggle' through to bring the correct line to the front.
Also occurs when hatching by Object, object doesn't highlight.its just a variable I can change.

I've just got AutoCAD 2012 and mkaing some rings, I needed to fit the same textures of a ring of 8mm in a 6mm ring. My problem is that the inside diameter is larger in the 6mm ring, and that's why I can't use the Scale command. Is there a command that allows me to fit all the objects in this area??

I'm making a surface out of contours. The problem is the contours have the elevation listed under object information, not geometry (the contours were brought in from a GIS file, which I do not have access to, or I would bring them in again with the elevations properly assigned, this is not an option). How can I quickly change the geometry elevation property to match the miscellaneous property?

I really intrigued to getting the Object ID pass in 3ds Max working properly, for EXR workflow.What i want to do is to add a object ID Pass to give me a RGB pass of my objects according to my G-Buffer ID number and object information.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it me or is the viewport-orb tool changed?When I select an object (in perspective mode, not otho) - and press Z to zoom-extend the chosen object, I can rotate around it, but when performing a second "orb"-around, the "zoom-locked-extends" is gone and he orb-rotates around the SCENE and not the chosen object anymore?
what gives?... (same principle when in sub-object mode - 1st orb-rotate around the chosen object is good. When going out of orb-rotate and orbing around to the other side of the object or whatever, the "zoom-extends-region" is "scenafied" as in scene-a-fied bug or new feature? if new feature, how the hell to turn it off.
When I use select object, it never displays the marquee correctly. One of two things will happen.
It will
1. Not even display the marquee at all e.g. I use select object by rectangular selection and the rectangle marquee box is invisible (although I can still select things)
or
2. If the marquee does display it shows it behind the objects, instead of in front of them, as scene in the image below.
I have been trying to create DXF in AutoCAD 2012, Civil 3D 2012 and Lt 2012 and every time I try to open the DXF after creating it, it comes up with:
Error in APPID table
DXF rear error on line 21308
Invalid or incomplete DXF input - drawing discarded.
I've tried saving it various DXF formats: 2000, 2004, 2007 and 2010, and all show up with the same error.
just tested. no good. don't do it.
just a friendly warning. stick with 2013+win8
or
2012 + win7.
crashes all the time editing alignment/profile. (better). and corridors. (very bad).

I have windows 8 on new asus laptop N56VZ. Installed civil 3d 2013 with no problems (i see some people have problems with installing) but it doesn't work normal. It crashes every time i try to edit an alignment, old or new.
I had windows 8 beta on an older asus laptop and civil 3d work there normally. Then I upgraded it to win 8 and it started crashing like described.Today i bought that new asus n56vz with windows 8 and it is crashing.
I'm not finding any way to add a profile to an alignment using .net api.
Is com the only way?
I can get at pvis via .net, so seems off they would leave out ability to add profiles.

Just had to repair my installation, now I am unable to use any Civil 3D commands, anything with "AECC" in front of it is coming back with "unknown command"?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try to use the "DWG to PDF.pc3" driver, I'm getting TIN triangles in my PDF. They don't show up in the "Print Preview", just in the resulting PDF. They also don't show up if I print directly to a printer. Only in the PDF. Never saw this before installing SP2.1.

Using Building Design Suite Ultimate 2014
I just installed Civil 3D 2012 64 bit on a new computer running Windows 8. It starts up fine, but when I pull up a drawing, about 1 or 2 minutes later, the program shuts down and I have to restart Civil 3D. I've pulled up several different drawings from different sources, and it does the same thing. First, a window pops up for a split second, and I can't read the contents of the window. Then, I get the window that says Civil 3D is shutting down.

We just recieved 2014 C3D upgrade from 2012. I opened a 2012 dwg and saved in the 2013 file format. now when i attempt to open the drawing in 2014, C3D freezes while loading the drawing. It can't seem to get past "reading triangles from file". Weird thing is i can open a copy of the original 2012 DWG and work for minutes or hours in 2014 saving many times along the way and if i close the DWG and attemp to re-open, it freezes up everytime. I have done this same procedure with other DWG's and don't have any issues.
