When I try to run this, I get an error 'Unable To Create ActiveX Component'...
Is there any way to put the 2011 topobase and the 2011 ArcGIS plugin into 2012 or 2013? Seems such a shame just to lost all of that functionality.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter I plot to pdf, I get an error message: You do not have a PDF viewing application installed. Go to the internet and dowload a pdf viewer. The problem is that Acrobat Reader X is installed on my computer. I saw the thread about Reader X having spooling issues, so I reinstalled Acrobat Reader 9. Still get the same message.I can go to the file afterwards and open it, despite this message, but it is supposed to open from Architecture after it is plotted and it won't do that.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI open files from many different customers in 'vanilla' Autocad 2012, upon exiting I occasionally get an exclamation mark inside of a triangle that appears on the screen by itself after the program closes...No text associated with the close just an exclamation mark inside of a triangle with an 'OK' to dismiss....Does not appear to be file specific, does not happen after any specific input either...Is there perhaps a log I can enable and/or interrogate to see what is causing this warning?

I would like to preface this post by stating, for the purposes of this message, that I have absolutely no understanding of the workings of AutoCAD. I have looked at many forum discussions concerning my issue and I am simply unable to understand the terminology and/or concepts being described.
I recently purchased a new computer for my office. Accordingly, I needed to install AutoCAD on this new machine. All of the machines in my office are running AutoCAD 2011. However, after addressing some licensing issues with AutoDesk, I received a license and installer for AutoCAD 2012. Everything was installed correctly (as far as I understand) and the program itself is working fine. The problem I am running into involves the text style for the files I open:
For files saved on AutoCAD 2011, the text style used is Arial. Simple; no custom fonts. However, when I open that same file in AutoCAD 2012, the text style for the entire file has changed to Franklin Gothic Book. (Note that all files are accessible from all computers in the office through a network drive)
That is my only understanding of the situation. As I mentioned earlier I have very little understanding of the workings of AutoCAD. I have had this problem for almost a week now and I am no closer to understand this issue, much less solving it.
I get an error now after instaling Inventor 2012 when I am using 2011( because of a project with other users I am on).

We have used Inventor 2010 with PSP 2011.
- Recently we have upgrade to Inventor 2012.
- Installed pspro_cad_fp_10.0.39.3 update for PSP Server and for PSP Clients.
And now, some drawings we can not open in Inventor 2012. Inventor crashes!
But some drawings we are lucky to be able to open and work with.
Drawings have the same template.
If the drawing is locked (read only) then inventor 2012 can open it without a crash.
If I drag&drop drawing out from PSP onto my Desktop, Inventor 2012 can open drawing without problems.
So we are not able to work with some drawings in Inventor 2012 and PSP 2011.
As the first and quick (and 100%) solution - rollback to Inventor 2010 can cost us about 5 man-days of work. (Because we have done some work in Inventor 2012 allready and will not be able to work with this in Inventor 2010)
We just upgraded from ACA 2011 to ACA2012 and we are getting some wall cleanup issues with foundations. some walls, the footings show while adjacent wall (same style) footing disappears.
also, when i copy a wall where the footing is missing, the new copied wall shows the footing. when i move a wall without a footing, the footing shows up.
When pushing F1 for help in 2012 Civil 3D regarding this feature, it takes me to a page about migrating custom files over.
It says to copy the pipe/structure files over, then to open up Civil 3D and type in PIPECATALOGREGEN. Well, it doesn't work and says that it is an unknown command.
why I'd get this error when doing an Export to AutoCAD 2010/2007/2004...? It seems to be innocuous, and irrelevant, but it's disturbing none-the-less. I haven't been able to identify any reason why it appears, and all drawings seem to work normally, with no problems. AUDITs turn up no errors. So I've just been ignoring this message, but it's distracting. And it doesn't always appear... although I haven't been able yet to identify what causes it to appear in some drawings, and not others. I think it only ever happens when there's an XREF, but not sure... (Maybe when an XREF is in an older version of C3D/LDD/AutoCAD...?)

I already opened the option box under OPEN, and selected ignore version. And it still doesn't work. I never had this problem last semester with 2011 files, working with 2010 Maya.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've found an issue with 3ds Max 2012, when I open/upgrade my 2011 scene, max will crash immediately and every time. I used a 'binary search' approach to figure out what part of my 2011 file/scene was failing to import by exporting half of it, importing it and seeing if it crashed, if so, I'd split that half in half again and repeat until I got down to the offending object. I managed to get down to a single Loft object, which when exported (Save As > Save Selected) just on it's own would cause 2012 to crash on opening it.
It's not a biggy for me as I can just delete the offending object and carry on.
I'm not quite sure why there isn't a try-catch block around the entire import/load file function inside 3ds max, so that if/when max exceptions it won't bring down the entire application? I guess making this a safe transactional operation would be fairly difficult.
I tried to call COM object created by C# from other C# module.
I did:
1. Create simple COM object by C#
2. Register it
3. Try to call this COM from other C# console application - it works fine
4. Create simple AutoCad module by C# with IExtensionApplication
5. Try to call this module from AutoCAD - it works
6. In Initialize() method I wrote:

I am having trouble installing the "AutoCAD Architecture-MEP Object Enabler for AutoCAD LT." Whenever I try to install it, I immediately get a screen that says, "Setup was unable to detect any target applications for AutoCAD Architecture-MEP Oblject Enabler for AutoCAD LT." I have tried restarting the computer, running the install program with LT on and off, etc.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I select an object to move I am unable to snap to the grips of the object or any other object close or any intersections. I have double and triple checked my osnap settings. Also, If I select a circle to move I am unable to select the center of the circle through additional osnap settings. One last issue, If I select an object and do a copy with base point command, I am unable to select a definitive base point. No grips or intersections show up.
My co-workers are able to do these functions but I am not.
I am looking for the perpendicular function specifically. However, at this point I can not find the tool bar for any of the snap functions.

View 2 Replies View RelatedA co-worker tells me when he opens a drawing then minimizes it and then opens a new drawing to fiddle around with, when he closes it and doesn't save and returns to the first drawing, when he runs commands he gets "No Null Object" errors. He can click OK or whatever on the error messages and continue, but they constantly fly in his face.
He's running AutoCAD 2011 Maps 3D x32 on Windows 7 x64.
I've created a Inventor 2011 Add-In using VB.Net with VS2008.
This add-in does all kinds of things, but it will not release some documents.
Well I don't know that for shure but it looks like that.
We use Productstream Pro and when changing state of a document it says the document is in use while there are no documents visibly open in Inventor. This only occures when I use my add-in.
Exact steps: Load drawing document from PSPPerform action with add-in which gets a custom iProperty from the Part file used on the Drawing and fills the display name of the Drawing with itSave the drawingClose the drawingIn PSP try to change state of the part file used on the drawingGet message from PSP stating the part is in use

I've been trying to get the Raster Design Object Enabler for Civil 3D 2011 64 Bit to install, but every time I run the exe it says there is no target application to be found, even though Civil 3D 2011 64 Bit is quite clearly installed on the machine.

I have csv file of co ordinates (x,y,z) I surveyed, I have to produce progress drawings showing stockpiles, boundary etc. , which I can do easily enough by uploading the co ordinates. I would like to include contour lines in the drawing but how to go about it. I have spent a while searching online & I'm even more confused, most discussions refer to TINs and triangulation but not sure how to go about it. I have a survey of the site survey csv file prior to any works carried out & that is what i would like to base my contour lines on. The site is relatively flat, about 4 acres in size, relatively even rectangle shape with fall of 200mm from north to south & fall of 2.5m from east to west.
