I have been trying to create DXF in AutoCAD 2012, Civil 3D 2012 and Lt 2012 and every time I try to open the DXF after creating it, it comes up with:
Error in APPID table
DXF rear error on line 21308
Invalid or incomplete DXF input - drawing discarded.
I've tried saving it various DXF formats: 2000, 2004, 2007 and 2010, and all show up with the same error.

1) When you click the Browse folder icon to pick an Assembly to insert into, the 'Component Properties' dialog pops up, asking if you want to create a new assembly.
2) Whether you answer yes or no, no Browse Dialog pops up.
3) The path is left at the default of your workspace path. You can manually type in the path and Assembly name if you know it, but no ability to browse to it. It wants to create the new assembly in the default workspace folder.

My company has just upgraded to AutoCad MEP 2012 with Quickpen PD3D. I am trying to find out how to make a title block with attributes that will open in quickpen. I will have to use attributes to specify date, job, job#, etc.

My model is done now, and my BOM information (description & part number) is set correctly.
Now is my problem some parts are not supposed to be in the BOM at a certain moment.
Example.
If fence_type = 1 Then
Beam-001 = default
Else If fence_type = 2 Then
Beam-001 = reference
Else If fence_type = 3 Then
Beam-001 = reference
End If
But what do write to set BOM status of a part?

I have windows 8 on new asus laptop N56VZ. Installed civil 3d 2013 with no problems (i see some people have problems with installing) but it doesn't work normal. It crashes every time i try to edit an alignment, old or new.
I had windows 8 beta on an older asus laptop and civil 3d work there normally. Then I upgraded it to win 8 and it started crashing like described.Today i bought that new asus n56vz with windows 8 and it is crashing.
I'm not finding any way to add a profile to an alignment using .net api.
Is com the only way?
I can get at pvis via .net, so seems off they would leave out ability to add profiles.

Just had to repair my installation, now I am unable to use any Civil 3D commands, anything with "AECC" in front of it is coming back with "unknown command"?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try to use the "DWG to PDF.pc3" driver, I'm getting TIN triangles in my PDF. They don't show up in the "Print Preview", just in the resulting PDF. They also don't show up if I print directly to a printer. Only in the PDF. Never saw this before installing SP2.1.

I just installed Civil 3D 2012 64 bit on a new computer running Windows 8. It starts up fine, but when I pull up a drawing, about 1 or 2 minutes later, the program shuts down and I have to restart Civil 3D. I've pulled up several different drawings from different sources, and it does the same thing. First, a window pops up for a split second, and I can't read the contents of the window. Then, I get the window that says Civil 3D is shutting down.

We just recieved 2014 C3D upgrade from 2012. I opened a 2012 dwg and saved in the 2013 file format. now when i attempt to open the drawing in 2014, C3D freezes while loading the drawing. It can't seem to get past "reading triangles from file". Weird thing is i can open a copy of the original 2012 DWG and work for minutes or hours in 2014 saving many times along the way and if i close the DWG and attemp to re-open, it freezes up everytime. I have done this same procedure with other DWG's and don't have any issues.

Iv'e been using Land Desktop 2005 and 'am checking out a trial of 3D 2012. Needless to say I'm used to the 2005 format where there is simply a tab for Projects to create a new project or manage existing projects.

Example: I have a white square with one corner missing, the corner shows alpha. Now I select all the alpha, then call filter-map-resynth, tell it to look 50pixel further, run it, it calculates for a minute, munches cpu and all, and then...Nothing.The layer is correct, it has an alpha channel, alpha is not locked.Tried both heal and resynth.

I'm having trouble installing a Hotfix for C3D 2012. The error I'm getting is that it can't find the file AeccCascade.cab. Autodesk Support says this is because the path to my deployment is broken and I need to reinstall C3D. However it looks to me that the path is OK. I've checked the registry and did a Repair with no problem.

AutoCAD C3D 2012 has been crashing nonstop over the past 3 days on me whenever I try to "Create a Feature Line from Object". I know that it is a localized problem as a co-worker has been in the same drawing and done grading work without any problems. The error has occurred in multiple drawings.

At our office We use alignments to designate the pipeline. At our pi.'s or points of intersection We have the autocrat _wipeout circle. It works fine in c3d 2011, but for some reason when We take them into c3d 2012 the wipeout circle goes under the red line instead of above. We have checked through the properties and can not find a display order. Otherwise We are currently inserting a wipeout circle and having to place on At every intersection.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhile using AutoCAD 2008 LDD, I was able to set my point label size so that it looked the same in Model Space and Paper Space. I have my Model Space at 1:1, and my Paper Space Viewport set at the Scale Factor as needed, 1" = 50' i.e.. I now am using Civil 3D 2012 and have a decent grasp of Point Label Styles, the problem I am having is that when using the same parameters as mentioned before, my Point Label is at the right size in Model Space, setting the height at a size comparable to the Drawing Scale, such that if the Drawing Scale within the Viewport was 1" = 60', I would set the text size 4.8, but when doing this, it makes my Point Label text size huge.

I am using Civil 3D 2012 and seem to have a reoccurring problem with the text styles changing. At the start of the day, I will open my drawing and find that my text style has changed and I am not sure what is causing this. I check my text styles and none of my settings has change nor has the text style. Nothing seems to fix the problem other than running a repair of the system.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been having issues recently installing Object Enabler for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 on a few machines. I downloaded the installer from the AutoDesk website, but when running, it comes up and says it can't find any install of Civil 3D 2012..
Currently have AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 and it's object enabler installed... Also have AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 installed but can't get the OE to install for it. Running the 64bit shows nothing to install to, and the 32 bit installation only shows an option for "Language Pack".
Can I open 2012 .dwg files in 2013 and have all the settings styles and all the 3D data? 2013 Civil 3D
