After working for a short time in 3D, my object snaps dont actually connect to any visible corners or points on the item I have chosen to edit or move. The triangle or square appears further from the point I select. The only work around is to close down the program and restart. After only a few transactions, the problem starts again.I have checked the system and found it is using the latest driver.
View 6 RepliesRecently my Object Snap (F3) stopped working. Object snap is turned on and i have selected what i want to snap to in the options (OS) tab but it doesnt seem to be working.
I have also selected Tracking (F11) which is working fine.
What can i do? I am running AutoCAD LT 2010
At work, I notice that some of the newer draftsman (Me and about 3 other who have been there for 1-4 years) tend to prefer AutoSnaps on in some capacity and those who have been there for 7+ years tend to leave it off.
This has got me thinking about whether people prefer having AutoSnaps on in some capacity or another at all times.I tend to leave on End Point, Mid Point and Intersection on at all times, and just use CTRL + Right click to adjust as necessary.
I am trying to use object snap (intersection) to position the end of my sample lines at the intersection of the sample line with a polyline. The object snap works with sample lines left of the alignment centerline but not on the right. How do I correct this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedA lot of the LISP routines we use turn off all snaps except the "nearest" snap when the routine is complete.
I draw with 6 out of the 10 snaps on (not the nearest).
LISP routine that loads specific object snaps?
Sometimes it works. Lately it rarely does. I have tried holding the command key and this does nothing. Why can I not move objects anymore.

When I put in a X and Y dimention it will move that much and resets back to zero. Is there a setting some where that I have to change? In X3 it whould tell me where the object is.
View 13 Replies View Relatedi have been a long user of romcat... but would like to use the new corel connect. i use the folders selected to my HD folder that has all my cdr files (20yrs worth from ver 1). when i type in a search word that is in 100's of my cdr files keywords... connect doesnt display them. In romcat it does display them, even older files, with the same key word. connect only shows cdr files that have in its file name part of the search word, but seems to ignore the key words in the files.
I have all my job files with important key words within them, but the actual file names are simple job numbered names. i noticed on searches from X5 content on dvd, the files also are just numbers, but the search finds key words.

I extruded the leaf 1" first, then tried to copy it on a solid cylinder of a vase, but it didn't work!!! It seems to be simple, maybe not!
When I select an object and pan to make another selection the first object "deselects". The object(s) will stay selected until I pan and as soon as I start to pan the grips go away and the object(s) is deselected.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen working in 3d the crosshairs seem disappear off the screen when i have zoomed in too far, as iff the crosshairs are located on 0 in the z access.
Also, and this could be related, when i try to snap to anything in the vertical it always snaps to 0 in the z axis. This makes it impossible to move anything vertacally by snapping.

I have just upgraded to 2013 from 2012. When dimensioning my viewports in paperspace, I will snap using the linear or aligned dimension and it will appear to snap to the first point, but when I snap on the other end, it will go somewhere way off the viewport or give me a "0" dim.

Say you've dimensioned something but end up wanting to change the dimension definition points...drag the end point to another location that you want dimensioned.
I thought it used to snap to a new location, but now it will not. I have to redraw the dimension (including all text I added).

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I have a proposed storm sewer pipe network and 90% of pipes snap to the structures fine, with a start/lengthen snap on one end and an end/lengthen on the other, and a location/pipe diameter one in the middle. When I go to draw one of the pipes though, I draw structure to structure and it doesn't sit properly. I click on it to make sure it snapped to the structure but there is no start, end, or lengthen snaps on either end of the pipe. Only a Location/Pipe Diameter one in the middle. Therefore, I cannot manipulate it's length or where it connects, I can only move it around from the center.

Please look at the attachment,here you will see a gusset positioned on top of a foot plate,the gusset needs to be moved so that it makes contact with the cylinder,it will then be welded. The problem is more difficult because the gusset is offset to the axis of the cylinder and the precise distance is unknown unless worked out using trigonometry.
The question is what is the best method of moving the gusset to the precise distance and direction ?
I am trying to rotate the cylinder 90%%d on the y axis and then position it so that the bottom of the cylinder is flush with the top of the plane denoted by the rectangle. How is this done in 3DS Max?
View 1 Replies View Relatedsnapping to the pixel grid. I even have the "Snap to Pixel" turned off and the vector paths are being altered by illustrator so they visuall fit in the pixel grid. I've never experienced this before where illustrator actuall moves the anchor points where it wants.Here's a vector path on a grid created to show where the pixels are:
I select the object, swap the FILL to the STROKE and right away you can see that illustrator altered the location of the paths.I swap the STROKE back to the FILL and it alters the paths even more!Here's another example:
The paths clearly are not aligned with the pixel grid, but illustrator is trying everything it can to make the pixels line up. (This graphic has "Align stroke to inside" and is in pixel preview). Same thing but not in pixel preview.I made sure snap to grid and snap to pixel is turned off and still to no avail.
I've been using flatten for a long time and I just noticed that after flattening an objects sometimes it doesn't give you the exact shape of an object. Is there a reason why?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've created a block that uses a solid hatch acting like a wipeout field. In 2012, you can change the system variable TRANSPARENCYDISPLAY to <1> and it will make this hatch transparent. However, apparently that sysvar doesn't exist in 2010...

I cannot get the advanced select objects tools to work.
I type:
select <enter>
wp <enter>
Make my polygon, and then I'm stuck in a single item select mode. If I hit enter, they all unselect and I can't do anything. Typing a command (like "m") does nothing.
Typing m <enter>, and then doing the selection yields the same result. At the end of my selection process and I hit <enter>, it sits in the single object selection mode (the little box cursor). Hitting <enter> here again makes the selection dissapear and I'm back to square one.
every time I select something a small box pops up in my way with the object's properties. I can't figure out how it became turned on, and don't know how to get rid of it.
