I'm stuck with the attached drawing, was trying to get the right (side) view of the part constructed with lines and snaps/offsets are fighting me.
View 4 RepliesIm currently trying to draw a layout for a simple angle iron part using the front, side, and angled view. Its a flat part made of sheetmetal and it will get 1 90* bend in it.
My first question is how do i bend a part in autocad LT 2011? Ive been using autocad for years but ive never had a request for an angled view.
My second question is how would i create a layout using all 3 views and include the info block in the bottom right displaying all the info?
Is it possible to show hidden lines in one part of a .idw view while the rest of the view does not show hidden lines? In the attached image I want to show the pull handle and towel bar through the glass in the door. The only way I know how to show this currently is to turn off the visibility on the glass.

Is there a way to move a solid part in an assy using grip snaps and a specific vector direction .
Please look at the attachment,here you will see a gusset positioned on top of a foot plate,the gusset needs to be moved so that it makes contact with the cylinder,it will then be welded. The problem is more difficult because the gusset is offset to the axis of the cylinder and the precise distance is unknown unless worked out using trigonometry.
The question is what is the best method of moving the gusset to the precise distance and direction ?
I just upgraded form PSE 9 to PSE 12 and cannot find where I can view photos side by side. Thsi is something I use all the time and would love to know if it is till there somewhere.

I had trouble uploading a screenshot of the part, awful drawing. Essentially the hole through the side of this crudely drawn cylinder is what I need to add. I am using AutoCad 2000.
I order not to hide components, i want to make a break sketch and remove a piece from a part from an assembly in the isometric view in a drawing. can i do that?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create an assembly with a U channel (side ditch) that's top will follow the sidewalk it is next to but I need the profile of the U channel to be different than that of the roadway. Is there a way to create a custom subassembly part that will do this? Can I create a different allignment/profile for the bottom of the U channel that can then link to the other assembly?
The only other think I can think of is to use a dynamic block to add the U channel to my cross sections, but that will take a lot of time to do.
I am trying to build a 3d model and I am requirng to draw 2d sketches in the side view e.g right but all the happens is that the polylines do not go at the angle I need them at they jsut go parallel to the bottom. Also how do i create like a plane which I can draw a flat sketch on which i can set an offset from my first sketch?

I would like to view inside one of the bodies to show where the exploded internals sit, however when I do a break out of the body the trail lines from the exploded internals also get sectioned. View 4 Replies View Relatedi have been drawing a 3d model and when it comes to dimensioning, i can only do it for the vertical and horizontal distance from the top view. i cant find a way to dimension the thickness of my model from the side or ront view.

The objective is to section a part, selecting a center of the hole (side view, not top view) to attach the section line.
In the hole's top view we can select the center hole to attach the section view, but in the side view, i can´t find any attach point, even if i have a center line.
I know we can edit the section line later and create some construction lines to center the section line with the hole, but i wonder, there's a better process, more automatic, to achieve this?
I have a fish image downloaded online and I want to use it to design a fish in CINEMA 4D and animate it but before using that on CINEMA 4D I need to take this image to PHOTOSHOP and extract the top view and save it as a separate image and also extract the side view and save it as a separate image too but my problem is that I don't know how to get the top view and the side view of a photo or image

Somehow I have lost the ability to size the right side of my Bridge panel. It is too large and I cannot bring the right side border into view to see my Metadata and Preview Panels.Also the numbering of the thumbnails is lost "off the screen".
View 2 Replies View Relatedwhy the side view (Heavy Timber-Side.rfa) represents the thickness of the members rather than the face dimension? For example: A 2x10 (which isn't really heavy timber anyway) is shown 1-1/2" thick rather than 9-1/4" when the side view family is used to draw items.
Wish the family names had been a little more logical (i.e. Heavy Timber-Thickness.rfa and Heavy Timber-Face.rfa)
Seems like these families should at least coordinate with the section view so the top view was thin and the side view was wider.
My doubt is:

Is there any shortcut to do the offsets without 'esc'.

I would like to create a simple polyplane in the side view in Maya. When I try to do this nothing happens and the software suggests I start on the grid but you cannot see the grid in the side view.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI created a profile for an alignment (which has 2 offsets) and also an assembly with two assembly offsets. I wanted to create a corridor where my assembly offsets will have the same profile but will be on different alignments (alignment offsets).
In the corridor properties / parameters, I got an error : duplicate profile found. Should I copy the profile (for each offset) in different profile views (for each offset) ? Or there is a better way to do that ?
How do most people move points imported into a survey database that was shot with GPS and have offsets for trees, poles, signs, etc.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a sketch in one of my views of a planned piece of equipment. I hatched the equipment to show where it would be placed on my shaded views. The part outlines behind the sketch were visible through the hatch. I turned the visibility off of the part lines once I was finished with the sketch, everything is OK.
Now that the proposed piece of equipment is no longer going to be used, I removed the sketch from the view, but my part lines are missing, making the view look a little odd. See below. One side of my filter (gold part) has the outlines visible, the other side shows up without the lines.
After removing visible lines, is there a way to turn them back on again??
