AutoCAD 2010 :: Flatten An Object

Sep 7, 2012

I've been using flatten for a long time and I just noticed that after flattening an objects sometimes it doesn't give you the exact shape of an object. Is there a reason why?

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Flatten 3d Object To 2d

Mar 15, 2013

I am trying to write a simple (or at least I thought it was) code to flatten a 3d object into a 2d shape.  For some reason after ACAD runs the lisp it recognizes the flatten command but it will not select all.  this is what I have:

(defun c:fl () (command "flatten" "all") )

I have even tried the pick first command, to select all then run the flatten command but that still doesn't work.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Flatten Doesn't Work Properly

Oct 22, 2013

I'm using ACAD (2011) most of the time in 3D. I like to work that way and it goes really fast!

Now, sometimes I want to flatten my 3D drawing and show my obscured lines and make them dashed afterwards. With the flatten command and explode it works fine... but... some lines just move! For example, a block with size 100,200,100 turns into a square with size 100.9 x 199.3, even if I use the command in 100% top view!

I've already started using the AutoCad 3D.

how to put a 3D object on top of the another 3D object in autocad"! E.g.,I want to put a 3d object of one leaf (raised 1") on top of the vase, so that the edges of the leaf are placed completely on the surface of the vase.

I extruded the leaf 1" first, then tried to copy it on a solid cylinder of a vase, but it didn't work!!! It seems to be simple, maybe not!

Photoshop :: To Flatten Or Not To Flatten --

Is it best to flatten my images once I get them completed or is it better to keep them in psd format with the layers intact. What are the pros and cons (other than file size of course).

do you flatten your layers when finished? PSD files are huge and flattening seems to compress the size.

Also, if you do flatten, can you open them up again to make further adjustments?

AutoCad :: Object Transparency In 2010

Mar 12, 2012

I've created a block that uses a solid hatch acting like a wipeout field. In 2012, you can change the system variable TRANSPARENCYDISPLAY to <1> and it will make this hatch transparent. However, apparently that sysvar doesn't exist in 2010...

I don't want my other guy to have to look at these big white spots, on top of which he has to edit text!

AutoCAD LT :: 2010 Object Selection Broken?

Oct 2, 2013

I cannot get the advanced select objects tools to work.

I type:

select <enter>

wp <enter>

Make my polygon, and then I'm stuck in a single item select mode. If I hit enter, they all unselect and I can't do anything. Typing a command (like "m") does nothing.

Typing m <enter>, and then doing the selection yields the same result. At the end of my selection process and I hit <enter>, it sits in the single object selection mode (the little box cursor). Hitting <enter> here again makes the selection dissapear and I'm back to square one.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Selecting An Object Or A Portion Of Dwg

Jan 26, 2013

Virtually all coordinate entry as well as many other tools and operations reference the current UCS. 2D tools.

Absolute and relative coordinate entry Absolute reference angles Definition of horizontal and vertical for Ortho mode, polar tracking, object snap tracking, grid display, and grid snap Orientation of horizontal and vertical dimensions Orientation of text objects View rotation using the PLAN command

Moving or rotating the UCS can make it easier to work on particular areas of a drawing. However when selecting an object or a portion of the dwg. crossing - window , (a good exemple is stretching) the selection of the area is still  'rectangular' from the ortho of 0° or 90°.  This cross-window selection should follow the direction of the ortho angle selected. Is there a command or a setting in order for this operation to take place?  IF NOT for future autoCad releases or a update for current releases should be reviewed and implemented

AutoCAD 2010 :: Rotating 3D Object Until Interference

Jan 11, 2013

I'm working on a drawing which requires me to rotate 3D rectangles until they are leaning against each other like dominos.  Because they are standing on a curved path only one top corner of each will touch the adjacent rectangle, and because each one is shorter than the last the point at which they touch is different every time.  There are over 40 rectangles.

I have no problem picking the correct axis of rotation for each but I want to avoid time-consuming calculations for the angle of each or the reference Point for each.  Ideally I'd like AutoCAD to rotate until it recognizes that the solids are interfering.

Is there a command or a LISP for this?
