AutoCAD 2010 :: Object Selection Property Box
Mar 6, 2012every time I select something a small box pops up in my way with the object's properties. I can't figure out how it became turned on, and don't know how to get rid of it.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Select Object And Pan To Another Selection - First Object Deselects
Jul 20, 2011When I select an object and pan to make another selection the first object "deselects". The object(s) will stay selected until I pan and as soon as I start to pan the grips go away and the object(s) is deselected.

Oct 2, 2013I cannot get the advanced select objects tools to work.
I type:
select <enter>
wp <enter>
Make my polygon, and then I'm stuck in a single item select mode. If I hit enter, they all unselect and I can't do anything. Typing a command (like "m") does nothing.
Typing m <enter>, and then doing the selection yields the same result. At the end of my selection process and I hit <enter>, it sits in the single object selection mode (the little box cursor). Hitting <enter> here again makes the selection dissapear and I'm back to square one.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Selection Modes Object Grouping Not Staying On
Feb 3, 2012I can toggle "Selection Modes, Object Grouping" on by checking the box and save my file. When I close AutoCAD 2012 and come back in Object Grouping is turned off again, even if I pull up the same drawing. I can't seem to find a lisp function or command to turn this on. Seems that my only option is to go back to the options each time and turn it on. I've got a registry entry or a lisp command I an issue to keep this turned on.

May 19, 2010When objects are selected, they don't show up on the properties panel (or on the Quick Select panel either) It doesn't matter what method I use:
-Pick one object (lines, arcs, circles, blocks, etc), the Quick Properties flyout appears, but empty. Properties flyout show "no selection"
-Window-select object or objects. Quick Properties bar shows up empty again. Properties flyout show "no selection"
-Click on the Quick Select icon. It prompts me to pick geometry. I do. The Quick Select window comes up, but where it says "Object Type", it only has the option "Multiple", and not the normal list of the geometry you selected.
Have Autocad 2011, as well as Autocad 2010 and Inventor 2010 (trial license) on the same machine.

8 GB RAM
Windows 7 Pro 64 bit
AutoCad :: Selected Objects (polylines / Hatch0 Shows No Selection In Property Command
Nov 2, 2011I'm currently having diffulties editing my selections, specifically lines, hatching etc through the properties command. When I select a polyline or hatch and then select properties it shows that there is no selection. However if I select text I can edit the text style, but I can't change the colour. I've tried to change back to the default settings but that hasn't work.

Everyone should be able to find subtle differences, yes, The AlignmentPoint property of the left DBText is placed in the middle, and the base point is placed in the lower left corner In contrast, the basis points and the AlignmentPoint of the right DBText are coincident.
How to control AlignmentPoint Property of a DBText Object? I just want to creat a Dbtext just like the left one.
I have tried to directly modify AlignmentPoint property, use the the follow
objText.AlignmentPoint = new Point3d(0.83333333333, 1.25, 0);
But AutoCAD will be throw a Exception that message is eNotApplicable, and the AlignmentPoint won't change as my want.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Property Dialog Box
Apr 18, 2013Just installed AutoCad 2012 and I have the Property Dailog Box open. I anchor it to the left side of the drawing screen and "Lock" all toolbars in place. When I get out and go back into Autocad, the dailog box is still locked, but it is in the middle of the drawing screen.

I have tried the following but was unable to achieve any success.

That formula does work if i swap elevation with say height, width,length or any of the properties found in the automatic property list that are a single word. I know the elevation is there I just don't know how to access it.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Multiple Grip Selection Not Working When Pan Or Zoom During Selection
Jul 12, 2011When I select a hatch or polyline or any object with grips for that matter, and hold down shift to select multiple grips on the object or objects and then press my middle mouse button to pan or scroll it to zoom, the grips that I have selected de-select, meaning I have to set up the view so that all the grips I want to move are visible before selecting them.
This is only happening on some drawings (although it is most of them) and only when I use 2012 not 2011. Which system variable it is that has gone screwy that I need to reset? or is it something else?

If I insert a table with our standard table style is is to big, so made a smaller text style, made a new table style with the new text style in it.
And if I insert a new table with the new style its still big...
But... select the table, right click, Remove All Property Overrides... And the text style is OK, only the row height is wrong, so in the table bar - unlocked, select the table again and move the right little triangle up until the rows don't get smaller.

Nov 4, 2011What is the layer "Status" in the layer property manager? It doesn't correlate with the On/Off or Freeze/Thaw . The icon appears to be a sheet of paper but some are blue and others are gray. I cant tell what makes them change colors from blue to gray.

Feb 16, 2012I'm trying to set up a layer filter that excludes Existing layer names, Following NCS standard, Existing information layer names always end with a -E
Help file says:
~ (tilde)
Matches anything but the pattern; for example; ~*AB*matches all strings that don't contain AB
but using ~*-E (tilde asterix hyphen E) returns all the layer names that end with a "-E"
does the tilde not function with LayerProperty Filters?

May 3, 2012I FINALLY decided to get my head around the Sheet Set Manager (kudos to Kate Morrical's video series).
I understand the need to create custom properties, and I can see that you can either "add" or "delete" custom properties, but is there any way to CHANGE the property after it's been defined?
For example, if I create a custom property complete with a default value, but discover later that I made a spelling mistake (eg. "Darwn By" instead of "Drawn By"), is there any way to MODIFY it?

Whenever I add a block property table the window that should be opent doesn't open. The strange thing is that I think it actualy is open but i just don't see it on my screen. The same thing gous for the screen that allows you to ad a parameter to a lookup set. by folowing this link you can see what i mean, it gets interesting after 30 seconds.

Long story short, we XREF a lot of mechanical equipment in our models and when we create a structural drawing make all of the mechanical item print in a light ghosted color. I created a layer property filter with a huge list of all the possible equipment prefix's like *cl-* *tk-* *rv-* and so on to filter out all the equipment layers. It took a long time to create, so I want to export it and import it into future drawing.

The Arrow head size didn't change corresponding to the scale, i included the pic below, the top picture, the arrow head was set at .18" but was really small when i plot out, so i wanted to make it bigger, when i changed to .50" or .75" or even 1" the arrow head became even smaller than .18". Only when .18" than the arrow side is legible

May 22, 2012I am working on a drawings with nested xrefs and am experiencing major delays when selecting objects using crossing windows. It is as if the computer thinks I am selelecting the xref even though the curser doesn't touch any visible exref entities. Basically, I click to start the window and the curser freezes for 10 to 20 seconds. I am experiencing the same problem with other commands (intermittenly) such as move, line, and offset. The exrefs are on a separate locked layer and have been moved to the back of the drawing.
