We have this problem with nothing showing up in the properties tab when we select a line/object.
We have tried everything from here:

But still can't get it work.
Is this more of a Windows issue rather than AutoCAD? We are running Windows 7/64.
When objects are selected, they don't show up on the properties panel (or on the Quick Select panel either) It doesn't matter what method I use:
-Pick one object (lines, arcs, circles, blocks, etc), the Quick Properties flyout appears, but empty. Properties flyout show "no selection"
-Window-select object or objects. Quick Properties bar shows up empty again. Properties flyout show "no selection"
-Click on the Quick Select icon. It prompts me to pick geometry. I do. The Quick Select window comes up, but where it says "Object Type", it only has the option "Multiple", and not the normal list of the geometry you selected.
Have Autocad 2011, as well as Autocad 2010 and Inventor 2010 (trial license) on the same machine.

Is it possible to select an object for reading in an XRef?
PS I think it has something to do with Editor.SelectNestedEntity() but it is the end of a long day and I can't fathom it out
When selecting an AEC and going to the properties dialogue box I no longer have items showing up in the prpoerties like cleanup group, size, or endpoint type. It only has the general tab and 3d visualization. I did a repair from the uninstall software fromn control panel. I also rebooted. I don't want to do a reinstall becuase of customizations. I have vista Ultimate operating system.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy main issue with 2010 is with Match Properties. When I start the command, I am used to selecting the source object and then selecting those to be changed. With 2010, the command prompt is asking that I select all objects to be changed and THEN select the source.
I love AutoCAD 2008. As soon as I started using 2009, then 10, and 2012, I realized that the Autodesk engineers are attempting to 'improve' the program but not for those who have been using cad for 10-15 yrs, but rather for those who are new to it. It stinks!! I don't want CAD to be so 'user-friendly' that it clogs the system, adds a bunch of nuances that we don't want, and makes things more cumbersome!
I saw that I can add Fields or store data in dictionaty, but those data are not showed in Properties Windows.
In not Acad-application (but .net application) I can create property description and add "virtual" properties with the use of designer. In Aced it doesn't work.
Is it possible to add custom properties from .NET?
When I select an object and pan to make another selection the first object "deselects". The object(s) will stay selected until I pan and as soon as I start to pan the grips go away and the object(s) is deselected.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having an issues that I am unable to change the properties of a selected object using the tools located within the ribbon. Instead I need to go through the properties popout to change them.
for instance, I seclect a line and want to change the layer from A-wall to A-door. I try to change it using the drop down layers located within the ribbon, but it does not change. however If I do the same only though the properties popout window I can change it.
Is there toggle that I accedently switched?
I am no longer able to change size of an object as the size rectangle doesn't surround it anymore when i highlight it.

I have several students working in 2012 or 2013 PC & Mac education edition who set the line type properties correctly but the line does not "read" correctly. Checked global scale factor, listed the content to confirm layer and line type as hidden, etc., checked the properties, made sure the line type and color were set to "by layer". It doesn't matter between model or paper space - the lines will not read.

Make my polygon, and then I'm stuck in a single item select mode. If I hit enter, they all unselect and I can't do anything. Typing a command (like "m") does nothing.
Typing m <enter>, and then doing the selection yields the same result. At the end of my selection process and I hit <enter>, it sits in the single object selection mode (the little box cursor). Hitting <enter> here again makes the selection dissapear and I'm back to square one.
every time I select something a small box pops up in my way with the object's properties. I can't figure out how it became turned on, and don't know how to get rid of it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am facing small problem with inverter drafting. I am unable to show hidden line of pattern by direct selection of all object . I have to select one by one item from pattern.
In my drawing there is tie rod item ( find attached file) i have shown hidden line of only this part . and i have to select all items one by one.
I can toggle "Selection Modes, Object Grouping" on by checking the box and save my file. When I close AutoCAD 2012 and come back in Object Grouping is turned off again, even if I pull up the same drawing. I can't seem to find a lisp function or command to turn this on. Seems that my only option is to go back to the options each time and turn it on. I've got a registry entry or a lisp command I an issue to keep this turned on.

One being to highlight an object and then delete using the Delete key. Second example being lost is to left click a drawn line and then to hit delete. Is this a setup problem?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from LT2013 to LT2014. I never had any issues with 2013, but now seem to be battling with 2014. My OS is Windows 7 Home edition.
When selecting an object and then clicking the properties menu, the properties of the selected object are not displayed, but instead the properties of the selected layer are shown.
In the attached screenshot:
1) My active layer is "AM_VIEWS".
2) The layer of the object that is selected is "MEDIUM".
3) The properties dialog box shows the properties of my active layer and not the selected object.
I am therefore unable to override any settings of the selected object and manually change settings e.g. Linetype, Linetype scale etc.
We have been trying to plot some 3D objects in our drawing with a hidden line. We need the drawing to not show the hidden 3D lines but to show the edge lines of the object to plot as a hidden line.

We also tried for "HIDEPRECISION=1" command , even then not displaying it.
Then we use "OBSCUREDLTYPE=1" then the missing object display but other all lines get too dark in the same drawing .

I made a 3D box shape in AutoCAD. I would like to draw a line on one of the surfaces of the box. Also I know you can use the the linear tool under Annotations to display dimensions of 2D lines. But I don't know how to do it so that it that shows the dimension on a vertical axis as shown in the picture below.

Also, I get an error message when I go into my CUI to try to modify the quick properties tab. Pretty frustrating. I've attached a couple of images for reference. I've repaired, re-installed and unistalled and re-installed and still have the same probelm.

if you care to not click-through, the problem is that certain commands (not all of them) simply do not disply in the command line. so the MOVE command for example looks like this:
