I am facing small problem with inverter drafting. I am unable to show hidden line of pattern by direct selection of all object . I have to select one by one item from pattern.
In my drawing there is tie rod item ( find attached file) i have shown hidden line of only this part . and i have to select all items one by one.
When I click and drag with the direct selection tool, I'm getting a drag on the object rather than a marque for selecting points. As soon as I click, the tool switches to the black arrow tool. Did I mess up a setting somewhere? I'm not using any modifier keys.

We have been trying to plot some 3D objects in our drawing with a hidden line. We need the drawing to not show the hidden 3D lines but to show the edge lines of the object to plot as a hidden line.

I have inv2014 , and im having a problem whenever i mirrored a part in assembly. A hidden dimension of a part always shows up after i mirrored it in assembly, and then i have to go to that part in assembly and turn off the visibility of that sketch/dim.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn solidworks there's a "hidden line" option that displays a 3d part with all its sketch lines (instead of a regular solid) which allows the user to view all the different sides of the part easily. So I was wondering if there's such an option in autodesk inventor 2013. Currently, to view all the different sides and aspects of a part easily, i have been changing the part's material to polycarbone or some other plastic material; this makes the part a little translucent. But this is less effective than the hidden line vew availble in solidworks. method that makes different parts of a 3d part more easily to be viewed?

It's my first time using sheet metal in a drawing and I can't figure out how to show flat pattern in the drawing. When I insert the base view into my drawing, the bottom to "Sheet Metal View" to "Flat Pattern" is shown, but it's ghosted out so I can't select it. Is there something I have to do in the part drawing in order to activate this feature?

Usually what I like to provide the installers is a plan view showing the equipment / catwalks with the base pads of the supports visible as hidden lines. If I just turn on hidden lines in a view, then it is too crowded.
However, manually turning on hidden lines for hundreds of base pads (potentially) is a huge time-sink and usually involves going through the browser manually to find them all. What I would like to do is automate the procedure to some extent. Usually there is only 4 or 5 different parts in an assembly that I need to have hidden lines for.
Can this be done? I want to go through the DrawingView Object to get at a subcomponent of an assembly and either set that component to have hidden lines (where needed) or no hidden lines.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThis morning, my Selection Tool (the filled-in arrow) is acting like a Direct Selection Tool (the hollow arrow), but only when I click and drag on a group. It ends up select the anchors within the group rather than the whole group itself.
I've checked my preferences, quit and relaunched Illustrator a few times, and nothing seems to fix it. The problem briefly went away a few minutes ago, but came back when I quit and relaunched for good measure.
It's happening in Illustrator CS 5.1. I have CS6, and that version works fine, but I'm waiting on some plugins to be updated for it, so I'd like to use CS 5.1. I'm also running the latest Suitcase Fusion 4.
How do you convert a 3d hidden line view in Revit into 2d hiddenline flatten view? Or I have to bring it to AutoCAD to flatten it?

On the top surface draw a 2" line from a corner by moving your curser in the direction you wish to go, direct enter 2". It will be a 3" line. Move with direct entry also does not work when placing an object on an object.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI can't get Inventor to create a flat pattern of the attached sheetmetal part. It's a pretty basic part, just five folds. I'm not getting any error issues - when I go to the flat pattern it just shows the folded part (picture attached).
I assume it has something to do with the way I folded it and the notches, etc. Inv makes to accomplish the fold. I'm using Inventor 2013 on Win 8.
I am unable to flat pattern the cylinder. Also, is it possible to rotate the XZ and YZ plane by 5 degrees ?

I'm trying to use ilogic to suppress some individual elements of a pattern but i couldn't find any command that can target component pattern elements. When i try to capture its current state with the right click menu it does nothing.
I can of course suppress the part within the element but then it doesn't update the BOM.
I made this custom hidden line, here is the defiinition:

It leaves a continuous line at the beginning and end of the line. Is there a way to get rid of that?
I must be missing something fundamental when trying to change a line from a solid line to a hidden or dashed line in Autocad 2000. I use the ltype command then load either Hidden, or dashed ISO,or both, and invariably the scale is way off in that I always end up with a still solid line, after using modify properties. After all that, every line I draw after that comes out dashed. Maybe I should fool with the layers? Is there a basic procedure I should follow here?
