having a problem mirroring weights: when i try to apply or create a symmetry map i get this error message:

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy current workflow is to Clone my object, mirror the polygons on the clone and delete the original half of the clone so I have two working halves. Turn symmetry on so the center points stay on the plane. Then I model - edit and extrude and so on, the original, the clone is updated. Well partially.
Here are the problems I am running into:
1) There seems to be no way to add a primitive into a polymesh. Been through the manual and I did not find a way to do this.
2) This leads to the next problem. There does not seem to be a way to properly merge or join objects into the poly mesh without creating a new mesh object. This in effect cuts the relationship to the clone. And anytime I want to add a primitive into the mesh as a starting point or target for creating new geometry, this means doing the clone, mirror, delete process all over. Not exactly efficient. As note here I am talking about connected parts not just putting parts in that could be separate. Such as contours on a car body that merge to a disc where the headlight would be. Just as an example. And I am polygon modeling here.
I am aware of lofting just so you know, but the above was just an example. I'd like to know specifically about working in symmetry.
Any tips on a better workflow to model - create/add new mesh components including primitives and edit them - in symmetry.

Testing this out, it does not seem to work. Even when the focus icon is depressed it refreshes if I select a different type such as a mesh object after a light.
I have a simple scene set up to test it. A point light,a spot light and a cylinder. Basically the scenario in the description. It always refreshes in focus mode. Clicking on the mesh always gives me the mesh properties rather than sticking to the light properties which was selected first and Focus button depressed. Or clicking on a null also shifts to the null properties.
Whenever i try to create an object using symmetry, convert to nurbs, object doesn't behave like a symmetry but gives off very unexpected result, is there any setting that i have turned off which is causing it?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have noticed on two machines that the SAP of Soft 2012 results on some odd offsets when trying to pick a vertex in paint weights mode. Apply a simple envelope and then go to solo and select vertex to see the offset from where your mouse arrow is and the vertex it highlights. Worked fine until the SAP update.
This has occurred on two separate machines. How/where do we submit a bug report?
Can I use ice to manipulate the visibility of an object? example; a particle enters an object and causes it to become visible but once the particle leaves the object the object disappears. Ive tried using test methods like test inside geometry, but I cant find the attribute to flag the view visibility as true or false. Been beating myself up for a couple days now I have drug the misc. visibility attributes from the explorer into ice but I cant flag them on or off.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have set layer settings to a PLINE in model space. The layer is unfrozen and turned on but i cannot see the properties associated with the line, it juist remains white. for example i want the pline to be magenta and global width to = 2. After i set those properties the line will show thickness of 2 but not magenta unless i move the line a little from its position then it turns magenta. However if i do anything else to the line then it turns back to white.Â

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently needed to reinstall windows xp. I have saved everything I needed to reinstall all my software. My photoshop CS2 is the only problem I've had. Since it was an upgrade my installation pkge is looking for a previous version. I have the serial number, original reciept, confirmation number, case number and all other materials needed including a challeng code given to me 2 years ago when I upgraded. After 3 hours and being kicked from Customer Service to Tech support over and over with a hold time of 15 minutes in between each one I was finally fed up. Each person tried the same thing. Ctrl/Shift/Dbl Click which does not work. They agree my serial number is correct, they can see my purchase from the order number on my original reciept, but not one could give me a straight answer. They all kept asking the same questions over and over but none made sense. Honestly I don't think there was a language issue either. The last one actually said I should upgrade to CS4..... how could I upgrade that if I can't even upgrade to CS2 on my computer. I have totally lost respect for the Adobe system of support. I have 3 Adobe programs and I am waiting for the day I need support on those. If anyone has any suggestions for me I'd love to hear them. They would not give me any help other than to say I must have a previous version loaded before I can load an upgrade.....NO kidding! But even though I paid and they see I paid for an upgrade in the past....they cannot come to the conclusion that the previous version would no longer be loaded on my computer.....I've upgraded...the previous one is gone. My only hope is to get ahold of a previous cracked version so I can run my paid program through with the previous installed..... that risks my computer getting malicious files on it...which is why I did the clean install in the first place......

I just spent thousands of dollars on a new cintiq 22hd touch and now people are telling me that touch zoom and rotate are not supported in photoshop when running it with a windows platform (only works with MACS)???!!! are you serious???!!! I just tested this out and its TRUE!!! You can pan with touch but not zoom or rotate. The zoom and rotate functions work in all my other programs BUT NOT PHOTOSHOP. I even have the latest version of photoshop (CC), latest patch and all and nope! no multitouch support!Â

I dont know who im more pissed with WACOM or ADOBE.  Wacom's touch advertising was supposed to be their selling point! if you cant even use it with the most popular graphics program...err what's the point?And Adobe should have provided support like what...AGES AGO...the touch tablets and cintiqs have been out for almost a year now!Â

1.) I found a post that says that iLogic doesn't support wildcards. Are there any workarounds for this? For example, say I want a rule to suppress all hex bolts regardless of size in an assembly. Assuming all hex bolts will have the term "HEX BOLT" in the name, can such a rule be made?
2.) I was wondering if iLogic can access assembly (browser) folders to manipulate all files under it. For example, I have an assembly folder named "Hardware". Can iLogic access that folder by name?
3.) When an equation driven parameter gets pushed between files via an iLogic rule only the value is pushed instead of the equasion. For example, an IAM and IPT has the parameter with equation "PlaneElevation=Height/2". With iLogic this value is to be pushed from the IAM to IPT but if I change the IAM equation to "Height/4" then the IPT's "PlaneElevation" value loses the equation and is replaced with only the numerical value. What I'd like is the IPT's parameter to also read "Height/4".
i am new to LR with LR4 upgraded to LR4.1. I can import images from my hard drive photo folders but LR won't let me reorder them. I get the message "The currently selected source does not support custom order". Why is this? I find it strange that such a sophisticated product as LR doesn't allow the user to move images around within a folder, especially when it can be done easily in Bridge.

I have created a space with space generater, added a room tag. When I click on the room tag and click properties I do not have Property Sets from Referenced Objects under extended data. View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having some trouble with a file in Illustrator CS6. Within a layer, when I add a fill to an object, the fill doesn't block out the object paths beneath. For instance, say I have a square object overlapping a circle object in Layer 1. The square object is above the circle in the layer. When I add a fill to the square, the circle stroke still shows through the square even though the overlapped part should be blocked out by the fill. The square is set to normal visibility, and I have made sure that there are no duplicate paths that would account for what I am seeing. (I.e., it's not a case where there's a second identical circle path that is on top of the square, so that it remains visible in spite of the fill.)

Other details:
- I'm mainly working with a white fill, but the problem is the same with fills of any color
- When there's a fill color in the circle path as well, the circle's fill color *is* blocked out—just not its stroke.
- I have restarted Illustrator and restarted my computer and these have not changed anything.
- There are other layers within the same document where the normal layering rules work.
- I tried copy/pasting some of the problem objects into a new document, and in the new document, the fill works properly.
- If I move the problem objects to another layer, then the fill works as it should. But as I'm dealing with a number of paths, it doesn't make sense to create a layer for each to solve the problem.
