AutoCAD Inventor :: ILogic Doesn't Support Wildcards

1.) I found a post that says that iLogic doesn't support wildcards. Are there any workarounds for this? For example, say I want a rule to suppress all hex bolts regardless of size in an assembly. Assuming all hex bolts will have the term "HEX BOLT" in the name, can such a rule be made?
2.) I was wondering if iLogic can access assembly (browser) folders to manipulate all files under it. For example, I have an assembly folder named "Hardware". Can iLogic access that folder by name?
3.) When an equation driven parameter gets pushed between files via an iLogic rule only the value is pushed instead of the equasion. For example, an IAM and IPT has the parameter with equation "PlaneElevation=Height/2". With iLogic this value is to be pushed from the IAM to IPT but if I change the IAM equation to "Height/4" then the IPT's "PlaneElevation" value loses the equation and is replaced with only the numerical value. What I'd like is the IPT's parameter to also read "Height/4".
I created a simple Part with some parameters to drive dimensions. Saved the part. I created an Assembly. Saved the assembly. Clicked Place iLogic Component. The Place iLogic Component window appeared Selected the Part. I can see the preview window (Part-01) & the parameter window... Used default values. Hit OK NO PART INSERTED! I have a iLogic rule for saving drawings (dwg) to a pdf file in a designated folder. Everything worked well until this Monday morning. Now I get the message: Error in rule: Save2PDF, in document: 13006-027 propflens-1.dwg Value cannot be null.
I have a simple iLogic rule to save an IDW using SAVE COPY AS DWG. The rule was created in Inventor 2011 ilogic and was embedded in the IDW template. Trigger was set to activate when the new drawing file was saved. It no longer works and errors out in Inventor 2012. The template has been migrated to 2012 and so has the project file. The ilogic Code is given below. if some new settings in Inventor 2012 need to be changed for it to work? Or if you have an ilogic rule to do the same that works,

I believe a dwg I am trying to access is affected by the acad.vlx virus as an alert comes up to check autodesk for solution (ID: TS13717811) however the published solution doesn't seem to work for the latest version of AutoCAD LT 2012Â as it asks me to access a file in the support folder which doesn't exist on my system.
 Every important 3d software from Maya , Lightwave  Houdini, Modo... you name it. The lucky users  don't have to pay 400 bucks to have a non-native plugin !  Max is as expensive and older than Maya or any other 3d App.
I am a long time user of LR and have the standalone LR4.4 on my Laptop and destop.  I have just registered on the cloud for the full pacage and cannot download the LR5 from the cloud as a message comes up saying words to the effect. This platform does not support LR5.
How to use wildcards to aid in replacing text. i have a series of drawings with a few hundred door tags that I need to add an alpha character to the end. I'm on ACA 2008.
example - change door number 1200 to 1200A, 1203 to 1203A, etc.
I recently needed to reinstall windows xp. I have saved everything I needed to reinstall all my software. My photoshop CS2 is the only problem I've had. Since it was an upgrade my installation pkge is looking for a previous version. I have the serial number, original reciept, confirmation number, case number and all other materials needed including a challeng code given to me 2 years ago when I upgraded. After 3 hours and being kicked from Customer Service to Tech support over and over with a hold time of 15 minutes in between each one I was finally fed up. Each person tried the same thing. Ctrl/Shift/Dbl Click which does not work. They agree my serial number is correct, they can see my purchase from the order number on my original reciept, but not one could give me a straight answer. They all kept asking the same questions over and over but none made sense. Honestly I don't think there was a language issue either. The last one actually said I should upgrade to CS4..... how could I upgrade that if I can't even upgrade to CS2 on my computer. I have totally lost respect for the Adobe system of support. I have 3 Adobe programs and I am waiting for the day I need support on those. If anyone has any suggestions for me I'd love to hear them. They would not give me any help other than to say I must have a previous version loaded before I can load an upgrade.....NO kidding! But even though I paid and they see I paid for an upgrade in the past....they cannot come to the conclusion that the previous version would no longer be loaded on my computer.....I've upgraded...the previous one is gone. My only hope is to get ahold of a previous cracked version so I can run my paid program through with the previous installed..... that risks my computer getting malicious files on it...which is why I did the clean install in the first place......
I just spent thousands of dollars on a new cintiq 22hd touch and now people are telling me that touch zoom and rotate are not supported in photoshop when running it with a windows platform (only works with MACS)???!!! are you serious???!!! I just tested this out and its TRUE!!! You can pan with touch but not zoom or rotate. The zoom and rotate functions work in all my other programs BUT NOT PHOTOSHOP. I even have the latest version of photoshop (CC), latest patch and all and nope! no multitouch support!  I dont know who im more pissed with WACOM or ADOBE.  Wacom's touch advertising was supposed to be their selling point! if you cant even use it with the most popular graphics program...err what's the point?And Adobe should have provided support like what...AGES AGO...the touch tablets and cintiqs have been out for almost a year now!  HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT WE LIVE IN 2013 and the best graphic hardware IS NOT COMPATIBLE with THE BEST GRAPHIC SOFTWARE on an OS (windows) that like over 50% of the population use?
any code that can search for a layer using wildcards?
In my specific case, I have multiple layers than begin with "MECA" followed by a job code. I'm trying to code something that will check to see which of those layers is on, then return the layer name.
i am new to LR with LR4 upgraded to LR4.1. I can import images from my hard drive photo folders but LR won't let me reorder them. I get the message "The currently selected source does not support custom order". Why is this? I find it strange that such a sophisticated product as LR doesn't allow the user to move images around within a folder, especially when it can be done easily in Bridge.
Currently Revit doesn't support multiple selection in Material edition dialog, so when user wants to delete multiple materials, he/she has to select one, delete, then one again and again. It's really tedious and waste lots of time.
I updated my computer to windows 7 32 bit and need the file:Â AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml - version 17.1.0.4 so that I can find out the correct driver for my OS and my quadrofx 1700 graphics card. Autodesk doesn't support 2008 Architecture and the on;y file I can find is buried in a torrent file with a pirated copy of 2008 and I DO NOT wish to download that.
I'm using the Morpheus rig (fantastic rig, by the way) in Maya 2014 and would like to select all of the control curve shapes so that I can place them in a display layer (an easy way to turn all the NURBS curves on the rig invisible without turning my parented props invisible, too!).Â
In order to do this, I cannot simply shift-click all of the control curves. I need to select all of these curves' shape nodes (which are appended with "_animShape"). I attempted to select them all by entering "*_animShape*" (without quotes, of course) into the Input Box, but I receive the "No object matches name" error. I also tried "select -r *_animShape*" in the Command Line, to no avail.
I do not want to have to spend 30 minutes to an hour scouring the Outliner for every single shape node (mind you, it's a very complex and sophisticated character rig!). Am I using wildcards incorrectly? how I can select all of these nodes at once?
Our PCB department is comtemplating the idea of constructing 3D printed circuit baord assemblies! I am using Inventor Routed Systems 2010. Does Inventor support IDF files? If so, which IDF version does IV support version 2.0 or 3.0?
I am looking at building a support for a customers part. Trouble is the part is curves and surfaces. Part doesnt have too many "flat" sides to it. I am struggling with how to get what I need. In this video, I am showing how the part will move onto the support (support is clear blue).
I created an assembly, then derived the iam into a part... subtracting out where the part will sit in the support. The problem I am having is removing the material so the part can move into the support from above.
Here is a picture of the support with the part subtracted out. I would post this, but the filesize is pretty large (18mb).
I have installed Inventor 2013 on a machine just so that I can use this machine to migrate my files using the Autodesk Task Scheduler.  I started the TS, then Create Task>Migrate Files task. I selected my "Vault" project and get a message that says "Vault Projects not supported".Â
I noticed that in the Migrate Files dialog, there is not a box at the top that says "Migrate from Vault".
This is installed on "Windows Server Standard x64" Â OS.Â
I tried a repair install and Reinstall on the Inventor 2013 installation. Problem still persists.
I tried to use 2012 task scheduler to migrate files, got an error message saying it won't support vault project file. I used vault project file for version 2010.
I'm trying to build an assembly with conical rollers rolling on a cylindrical support. Refer to the attached sketch. I'd like to be able to constrain the conical faces of the roller to the cylindrical surface of the support. It doesn't seem to be possible to do that in Inventor; or, more accurately, it's not possible to put a tangential constraint on both conical faces at the same time. The first tangential constraint causes the part to place a generatrix line parallel to the axis of the cylinder. (I had to look up what generatrix means, too.) So it's not possible to make the second tangential constraint.
How I can do this? Just in case that's not difficult enough, the reason I'm doing this is because, ultimately, the support will not be a plain cylinder but actually a tube that also curves. It's the behaviour of the roller through various curves on the support tube that I ultimately want to model, but I have no hope of doing that if I can't even get the roller constrained onto a plain cylinder.
I'm trying to use iLogic Design Copy to copy an assembly and all its associated parts to another directory. The assembly contains content center parts. Inventor warns me that the destination file of one of the CC parts (and 18 others) will be overwritten. When I go ahead and copy anyway, the copying process stops at that specific CC part. The Design Copy Progress dialog box states there is an error copying that CC part. When I close the Design Copy Progress dialog box, Inventor crashes.
The error copying the CC part: I'm allowed to use content center parts in iLogic Design Copied stuff, right? I searched some related topics and I'm under the impression that Inventor keeps the CC parts in its own directory and shouldn't be trying to overwrite them.
I am doing a tie rod the issue I have is when the length is between 2.001 and 2.250 we would drill thru all but only tap the ends .750 deep. If the part is 2.000 would would drill and tap thru in one step and not have to rotate the part in the lathe.
How do I get ilogic to understand if my number is between this 2.001 and 2.250 to lengthen the drill length parameter?Or add a mid plane cut? ( trying now code below reflects this try)
 Not sure what way I want yet but I just can't seem to find a snippet or code to do this. I tried to add a list in the parameters for it to read but seems to do nothing.
