I have a .DWF underlay that I am tracing over an aerial. I need to create hatches for several areas, and tried to PEDIT the lines and arcs into a polyline. Several segments, however, were not "connected" to the adjacent segments even though I'd meticulously snapped to endpoints to draw the lines.
Is there a command or LISP routine to check for connectivity before I attempt PEDIT so I can fix the gaps first?
I have some lines/plines..Pedit - J, then select my line and once I select the second one the first (last) selection is deselected. I cannot find the answer to this myself on google on here, i'm starting to get paranoid at my in ability to recall any of my AutoCAD working memory.

When I was done with the command, I could then type in PEDIT and L for last and it would select the multiple polylines I had first selected. We just got 2012, and when I do L now it just selects one line. Can I change this?

Today, while browsing through my Lightroom catalog looking for some older images, I noticed that LR5 could not open any images (NEF, CR2, JPG, TIFF, etc.) from mid 2010 and prior! The error message only says: "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo. You will not be able to make adjustments to the photo." !!! The thumbnails are all blank!
I was very surprised as I haven't used any other image editting sw for the last I don't know how many years. I wonder, are there any ways to reclaim these images. I have some precious photos of my mother before she passed away and don't want to lose them an any cost.
It seems all these files are somehow corrupted. The only thing I can think of is when I switched over to LR5 and the image catalog was updated, something in the process went wrong, though can't be 100% sure. I did try to open the files in a separate viewer (non adobe) but that also failed. I'm using a Macbook Pro with the latest OSX (Mavericks). The images are on an external encrypted drive. From 2010 onward, there are no issues and everything is available.

It is shown for showing how to use "pedit" but not mention how to draw it. It should be drawn using polyline command.
Is there any easy method to draw it accurately.
The inner shape is at center position of outer shape.
The inner shape should be draw using "rectangle" > "chamber" command. However, don't know how much to chamber. There should be a easy way to do it instead of any calculation.
when I comand to draw the polyline like: 0,0 -> 10,0 -> 10,15 -> c
I can get the property of closed is True
but if I type : 0,0 -> 10,0 -> 10,15 ->0,0
I get the of closed is False becase 1st point and last point are overlaped.
so how to delete one of endpoints with VBA?
I know there is a Spline command in the AutoCAD.
Can I create a B-spline which has two endpoints and two control points in AutoCAD similar as the one in the Solidworks?
If there's a way to make endpoints visible on selected lines / polylines while drawing new lines/polylines or running other routines.

It is a drawing from an house designer, I am adding structural members and notes over the drawing. I could xref, but I need to move/erase some of their notes as well. It becomes cumbersome to switch to the source dwg, edit & save, move to current dwg and refresh, to have the note where needed.
This is a pretty strange to me drawing file. It seems that a bunch of system variables are altered and hopefully it doesn't migrate over to files originating from my machine.
While i am using PEDIT command, I could not select all lines or arc? Is it possible to change all entities at one time using of PEDIT?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been working with Civil 3D for a while and I've gotten the Profile View and Data Bands down.Whenever we create an alignment with only two vertices (at each endpoint) and make the Northings, Eastings, and Elevations show in the data bands, the start and end show no data. (As below) Now I'm sure the data band is set up correctly because if I add a vertex somewhere along the alignment, all the missing data shows up.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to join a couple of lines with arcs. Unfortunately I have got a dxf created with CATIA. When I try to join them with pedit it does not work.
If I move the end point of the circle away and snap it back to the line, I can join them. Blending the Curves together is working (this shouldn't if the endpoints match, right?)
You can see it in this screenshot:
(On the left the circle and line are joined after I snapped them together, on the right they are connected using "Blend Curves" as you notice the tiny white connection)
So here it leads to my question:
Those lines seem not to be lying end to end together so I can join them. Is there a function to snap them together or to automatically ignore/fill such a little gap?
I'd like to know how can i join these objects. I'm trying to use PEDIT command but no success. The objects are not touching so it's not possible?

when ever I enter pedit command, and I move into model space to select polylines to join, my curser/pointer disappears? I can not select any lines because I no longer have the little square box to select lines showing. I have nothing at all. When I move out of model space, my white select arrow reappears?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to extrude a circle around a path in all dimensions, so I drew my path in lines, filleted the corners then tried to join using the PEDIT - Join command.
Firstly, the join says something like "2 segments added to 2 polylines" when really all I want is 1 polyline.
Second, when I try to insert my circle for extrusion I OSNAP to the end of the line, then when I specify the radius it draws in the wrong plane. So far the only way I have gotten around it is rotating the ucs. Is there an easy way to do this? my Dynamic UCS is on.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIf you make alterations to a model, and then switch to vault menu, your model is red with an asterix (requires saving). If you click check in on this, you get the message that it needs saving, click ok. It appears that it has worked but all the buttons on the toolbar are frozen. if you click the big I all the ribbon greys out and you need to restart Inventor. The only button that still works is Suite Workflows.
I have SP1.1 installed as well as the vault hot fix.
Having problem when using Inventor to check in a (large->slow) file while closing vault at the same time?
One of my colegues had a drawing file lose some of his changes when he checked in. we could not see a reason why, as the file was in vault with the correct time stamp. the file was the same as the previous check in.
This morning i have had a similar problem, where by i had made changes before checking in last night and when i opened the file in the morning the changes where not there.
I looked on my c drive in old versions (before i did anything else to overwrite it!) and low and behold the changes there!
The only thing i remember doing that was not normal was to close Vault while this large file was in the process of checking in through inventor.
I am using Inventor 2009 and have always been told not to check out files from the Vault directly. Rather to use Inventor when checking them in or out. What is the reason for this and has that changed with current versions?

After changes to non library parts and checking in machine.iam (with 1 or more company librarie .iams in it) Inventor says: machine.iam and (x) dependent files must be saved.before they can be checked in.save and continue?
Answering Yes -> Inventor says: One or more documents have been modified but save was unsuccessful. You must save the document prior to check in. (but I did save before check in!). Only option is to press cancel..
All filenames of library.iams in the vaultlist in inventor are turned red with an * behind the filename stating they have changed.(?) Somehow inventor thinks the library.iam haved changed in this machine.iam..
If i do this again with all included children checked out, but not the library files, the result is the same.
I tried to find out what is wrong with these library-parts (all library.iams (?)) so I opened a few of these library.iam (with the librarie.ipj) and the update button is greyed out so there are no changes..
We “solve” this now by closing the machine.iam, inventor then asks: save changes?, press Yes, an new window pops up: file “machine.iam” is checked out to you. Do you want to check it in now?, press Yes, a new window pops up asking which files you want to check in: machine.iam and all checked out parts in it, press OK and all will be checked in.
But this only works with files that are already in the vault, not with new drawings of iams.
We used to have the problem after saving an part or assembly -> Inventor would ask after pressing close: do you want to save, as if the first save didn’t work.. Now we have a bigger problem..
Also sometimes checking out include children only includes all direct children and not also children of children.
Is there a way to join two lines through anchor points and not endpoints? Simple example would be to create a 'T' object by joining two lines.

To join, you must select two open endpoints. If they are not on the same path, they cannot be on text paths nor inside graphs, and if both of them are grouped, they must be in the same group.
Here's what I have. Both paths are in the same group. I zoom to max and both ends are on top of each other. So, why am I kept getting this error message when trying to join them? I tried to Average and there is no error but yet the path is not closed.
I have been using the line tool rather frequently as of late and have found it to be quite useful. More to the point, midway through lining over something my lines stopped showing endpoints to snap to when I wished to place another, resulting in some rather unpleasantly rough shapes. My question is: what did I press / change to do this, and how can I go about un-doing it?

I get the message that the file is not checked out to me. How can I make it so they are always checked out to me. The libraries are mine on my system.
