AutoCad 2D :: Create B-spline Which Has Two Endpoints?
Feb 20, 2013I know there is a Spline command in the AutoCAD.
Can I create a B-spline which has two endpoints and two control points in AutoCAD similar as the one in the Solidworks?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Create A Spline With Given Points
Nov 7, 2013I have a group of Points coming from a step.file. So I don't have their coordinates, excel list or anything else. Just the step file. Around 100 points. There is a line between each 2 consecutive points.
Is there any way to select all the points and create a complete spline? Or even to select all the points and create tangent arcs between all of them?

Mar 27, 2012When I create a curve using spline on the screen I have noticed that often the curve between the points of the spline will become as straight lines. When I click on a point the curve appears again as normal and as I wanted. Any way to stop it from happening? Is this simply a characteristic of AutoCAD or something I am doing wrong? Does the curve appear as desired when plotted? The curves I am referring to are sections of a ships hull.

Sep 28, 2011I'm trying to create an external involute spline (ANSI B92.2M) Fillet Root Side Fit 26.9mm x 1 mm x 26 teeth x 38 mm long using the spline generator with Inventor 2012. I created a test shaft"M-182-AMA.ipt" that is Ø26.9 mm x 38 mm long with 1 mm radius on each end of shaft.
I use the following steps:
1. After creating component "M-182-AMA.ipt" I select Design tab>>Power Transmission>>Involute Spline.
2. A window appears that has the caption "Involute Splines Connection Generator".In the Dimensions section I choose "Splines Type: ANSI B92.2M - 37.5 deg, Fillet Root, Side Fit, 26 x 1.00 x 38 x 5H/5h" and change the Length to 38 mm.
3. In the Shaft Groove section I use Create new, and I push the Reference 1 button that turns blue, I then select the od feature from the model and I get an error(see attached pic "error1.jpg).
I changed the 26.9mm od to be 27mm and it still gave me the error.

AutoCAD 2010 :: LOFT - Can't Create 3D Solid Because Of Spline Surface
Jun 17, 2011As you can see, the nature of my model forbids me from making a 3D solid using LOFT.
The top surface is consisted of 3D polyline and arc, which if "joined" will be become a spline.
The bottom surface can easily be joined into polyline.
If I loft the top and bottom, it'll only give me a LOFTED Surface, which is not I want (wanted a 3D solid).

May 27, 2013I've been working with Civil 3D for a while and I've gotten the Profile View and Data Bands down.Whenever we create an alignment with only two vertices (at each endpoint) and make the Northings, Eastings, and Elevations show in the data bands, the start and end show no data. (As below) Now I'm sure the data band is set up correctly because if I add a vertex somewhere along the alignment, all the missing data shows up.

Jul 5, 2012I have a .DWF underlay that I am tracing over an aerial. I need to create hatches for several areas, and tried to PEDIT the lines and arcs into a polyline. Several segments, however, were not "connected" to the adjacent segments even though I'd meticulously snapped to endpoints to draw the lines.
Is there a command or LISP routine to check for connectivity before I attempt PEDIT so I can fix the gaps first?

To join, you must select two open endpoints. If they are not on the same path, they cannot be on text paths nor inside graphs, and if both of them are grouped, they must be in the same group.
Here's what I have. Both paths are in the same group. I zoom to max and both ends are on top of each other. So, why am I kept getting this error message when trying to join them? I tried to Average and there is no error but yet the path is not closed.

Illustrator :: How To Connect Multiple Endpoints Into One Straight Line
Aug 12, 2012I made a silhouette of buildings and I"m wanting to connect the bottom open endpoints into one straight line. The reason I'm doing this is because I want to add a fill to the silhouette as a whole instead of doing them one by one.
I tried joining paths but it can only be two open endpoints at a time. I have many open endpoints.
The pen tool only joins two open endpoints. If I try to continue to try to add another endpoint to the same line, the pen tool becomes a "minus anchor point" tool and messes up the shape of the buildings.
Of course, I thought of just making each building separate and grouping them together. However, if I do that, a issue occurs because I have certain buildings that are "in front" of each other (not in the sense of layers, but the image as a whole). I purposely made the sihlouette look like some buildlings are in front of each other and some are behind each other.

When I open the family all I see is ref. planes, I need to see them, I just want the closer to the parts not stick extremely far away. The shaft is the same diameter at both ends and I need to spline the other end as well but when I try, I get the following error messages, Cannot create iFeature. Not possible to create shaft groove. Splining the first end went without a hitch but Inventor absolutely refuses to spline the opposite end of the shaft. The shaft diameter is correct for the spline I have chosen (same as the major diameter)
