Is there anyway to look at a drawing in a prior state? Say I wanted to see what it looked like 2 months ago. And then again just one month ago. I found a great app called HISTORY that will show each line being drawn one by one, but I can't seem to find anything else that is even close to what I would need.

View 6 Replies View RelatedRecently upgraded to Civil 3D 2013 and drawings opened up fine. Now today any drawing that opens shows the plan view as last saved but then after loading takes the drawing and shifts it into a 3d view similar to a crossection. Is there a setting somewhere that has been changed? I noticed after a windows 7 update was preformed.

The size of the A4 is 29.7x21The size of by title block is 27x19Then I have like 1 cm margin from top, 1cm and bottom, 1.35 cm from left and 1.35 from rightI managed to have the view port / drawing centered on the A4 layout by setting the “plot offset” to be: X=13.5 and Y=10 using the printer “dwg to pdf.pc3”
It looks fine in the printed pdf, but when it is printed using printer “HP LaserJet P2050 Series PCL6”, the drawing is not centered on the hard copy A4 paper (attached)
What might be the issue here? Is the approach that I used to center the drawing in the layout is efficient? Why the drawing is centered correctly on the pdf but incorrectly centered in the printed A4 paper?
I've just started to do some work with Inventor 2013 and I noticed that, when creating a section view in a drawing, the preview is always uncut and shaded. Even when creating a partial section, the preview shows the full, shaded assembly. I tried playing with the "Section View Preview as Uncut" setting in Application Options, but this doesn't seem to do anything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAt my company, we do a large amount of work with sheet metal parts and assemblies. On our drawings, we like to do "detail" views of the flat patterns of each part of the assembly. Basically, how we do it now is insert a base view of the assembly and the BOM onto the first sheet and then on separate sheets, we place base views of the flat patterns for each of the components that will be cut on our cnc plasma table. We use the item number to denote which part it is in the assembly. Is there any way to pull the item number from the assembly BOM and use it as a parameter that can be inserted into the view label? Right now, it's a nightmare if the assembly BOM is modified because we have to go back in to each view label and manually change the item number.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 and all of a sudden when I select "File", and "Open", the dialog box from which I am supposed to select a drawing file has a small "Initial View" box with a small check box to "Select Initial View". This box seems docked to the right side of the "Select File" dialog box but I am unable to select the check box. It seems to do nothing. Is this a glitch?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing that I created (.dwg) in Inventor 2013 that, when opened, is completely blank. However, when in the File>Open dialog box, I can click on the name of the drawing and the preview shows the complete drawing with all views fully dimensioned. I closed Inventor, laucned AutoCAD and tried opening the same file and it was still blank (no views). I then closed that file and open the old version of the file from the, "OldVersions" folder with Autocad and all the views and dimensions were there.
So I launced Inventor again and reopened the offending print and noticed that the model is not shown in the drawing's model tree. I'm 100% positive that I did not delete this model/view from the drawing before saving the file. This is a small drawing and it will only take me a few mintues to recreate it.
I'm using Inventor 2013, SP1.1

When I save layer states overrides for a certain view port and mane it e.g. "K", in layer state manager current layer state is shown as "K", but when I change layout and come back to this one, in layer state manager current layer state is shown as *UNSAVED* again!!!
This results in a great problem. If I update layer state "K" it does not update all view ports that should have layer state "K" automatically so I have to go trough all of them again and apply "K" again and again after any change to "K" is made.

I have an assembly drawing that i would like to have in the partlist a column with the design state of each part of the assembly, how can i do that, since that property is not in the partlist column chooser.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn autocad 2013 there was a pull down menu in the layer panel for layer states. 2014 does not have that. How to get that to show up in 2014? I also need the pull down menu for dimension styles.
Unless im missing something it seems like it takes more move to do some basic stuff in 2014.
Im having a layer state issue with ACADE 2013;Vive saved a Layer state ("trial state") that has about 30 layers and some of them have been frozen.
I made the trial state the current layer state, however, when I save and close the drawing and then reopen it, "Trial State" is no longer the current state. Instead the layer state is changed to "Unsaved Layer state", and I have to manually select my trial state each time. I haven't even modified any layers or added more layers and it does this.
Im wondering if there is any way to keep/lock my customized layer state on a drawing.
We are currently working on a big project which contains hundreds of drawings. We're using the sheet set & are very happy with with it. I have one question: How can you change the initial state of the sheet set manager. When I open my sheet set, some subsets are always expanded. I would like my sheet set to close all subset when I initially open the sheet set.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to save the configuration and state of the Track View in my workspace. So when I start up Max, the Track View opens up in the configuration I had when I last used Max, and/or in my saved workspace.
Even after I save my custom workspace, it doesn't save the track view. I have to manually open up the track view, dock it the way I want, and open up my custom layouts I had saved in the track view. This takes a lot of time.
Is it possible to contol the visibility state of an external referenced drawing? I have an architectural plan drawing that uses a titlesheet drawing as an external reference. In my civil plan i want to use a different title sheet. Instead of having a different titlesheet drawing for the civil drawing i was wondering if i could turn my titlesheet drawing into a dynamic block. In my architectural drawing i would see visibility state #1 & in my civil drawing i would see visibility state #2.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed Autocad 2013 a few weeks ago and I have a lot of blocks made with earlier versions (2008, 2012, etc...) that I need to use. When I try to edit such a block, block editor gives me trouble with visibility states. I can't select visibility states, and when I can, the changes made to that state don't follow and often the program reverts back to the first visibility state for no reason. This is getting to be extremely annoying and I'm thinking of going back to 2012 because of this. Is there a patch or some way to correct this?

I cant figure out how to add 3rd action on my button, to show an active state (basically freeze the buttonts opacity until the next button is clicked) while this portion of the stage is being visited.
After upgrading to Inventor 2014 we notice that the graphics do not work properly, and that the overall performance in drawings and modelling bad compared to 2013. Then we installed SP1 and now drawing views are disappearing, however when we select "shaded" view the view reappears and works perfectly..
Any workaround regarding disappearing views?
Each time when I place a part in base view, have to follow few steps; go through view label, format Text, than choose type option - [Properties-Model] and its property - [Part Number], than placing dimensions. it takes long time and very repetitive, especially, when placing a hundreds of parts and I was wondering if there is an option, to set up view label; [Properties - Model ]& [Part number], as a DEFAULT. So, each time placing a part, in base view it will come up with correct label. Also, overall dimensions, can it be retrieve using parameters of the part?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI created 8 points (4 locations with 2 depths in each location) in the DWG of my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 project. I grouped these 8 points into 2 Point Groups: Point Group 1-high depth has Points #1, #3, #5, #7, and Point Group 2-low depth has #2, #4, #6, #8. I changed the 2D Wireframe to 3D Wireframe and on TOP view I saw Point Group 1 is on the top of Point Group 2 (because the 2 Point Groups have the same values of X- and Y-coordinates with different Z(elevation) value - see the first attached file. How can I change the TOP view to the TOP-FRONT view by using some Command to get this fixed TOP-Front view thar has the good separation of the 2 depths as shown in the second attached file?

If i do the same task in model space, it accepts the window i select. I am currently using civil 3d 2013 with the latest updates.

i have a template, created a viewport and fit the model view in the layout space. However, when i scale the template... the viewport model doesn't follows the layout scale. Is there any ways to fit it so that when i scale the template i don't have to set the view again.

I am trying to insert blocks into my drawings and for the most part I have been successful using Design Center. However, I have difficulties turning some of those blocks from the Plan View into the Elevation View, even when they show as elevation blocks. Even the downloads that show as 3-D end up being inserted as 2-D in plan view. In floor plan mode, I have no problem; so how do I turn them into 2-D in elevation mode?
