Is it possible to treat one text object as a "master style" text object and link other text objects to its font, kerning and other qualities, so that only changing the font of one text object impacts the font choice of many objects?
Kind of like "styles", but as a "work around" for there not being text styles in After Effects.
Open Effects>Stylise>Rounded Corners, Turn on Preview (BTW how do I make PREVIEW ON! as the default for all effects panels/windows?)Now I want to Hide the Bounding Box and the Edges... but those shortcuts are now inoperable.
Photoshop allows me to hide bounding box, and the rulers, I think, when having an effect window open, why does Illustrator not permit this?Is there an alternative other than canceling out and starting again with the view qualities changed?
Seems needlessly long winded to cut off these shortcuts just because an effects settings window/panel is open.
I am having real difficulty linking the base human to the gnou CAT rig, so that the gnou can walk with the human sat on top with realistic movement. I have tried using a link constraint from the pelvis which doesn't work and I've tried using IK. Either way I cannot get the pelvis to link to the spine of the gnou.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe like to put our dimension lines in CorelDraw 5 on separate layers from the objects being dimensioned. This way we can turn the dimensions ON/OFF depending on our needs. Unfortunately, we find that the dimensions for these objects do not move with the objects on the other layer. We have also found that certain edit operations seem to break the link between the objects on one layer and their dimensions on another layer.
How we can maintain our dimension lines on one layer, the objects on another, and prevent the problems described above?
I have these two photos and I want to merge them together so that it shows a nice interior & view photo. And don't say take better photos!

1)they came out dark, and
2) when she tried to upload them to her blog on the WordPress platform, she said they completely lost all the editing I had done.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm currently working with AutoCAD Civil 3D Land Desktop Companion. The drawing has hundreds of callouts for different elements all over the site. The callouts are in form of a block, with a number inside. The number corresponds to a notes page which lists each detail in chronological order. (nothing new there)
Due to an expanding and shifting job site, notes have been added and deleted. The problem is now we have to go back through and update all the callout blocks. For example: We have 75 notes in our list, if note number 3 changes or is deleted, we need to go through and change all the numbers in all the blocks to reflect the change to the list.
Is there a way to link blocks to an mtext list? or possibly a spreadsheet?
I have a user that wants to be able to either link dimensions to other dimensions, such as a ref dim to a live dimension or while inserting text in a note on the drawing to be able to list a dimension within that text string to a dimension of the part so as the part updates, the dimension in the text sting updates.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a little knowledge of AutoCAD and I do a lot of reports using only AutoCAD, each sheet has a border on it with the project info, no., etc. Is there a way we can link the text blocks in page 1/layout 1 to the other pages/layouts so I don't have to go to each layout and edit the text block individually? Also, i did not draw the template so as to how it was constructed i do not know.

When you double click on the block I don't want to enter "A" as the attribute value twice. I just want to type "A" one time and automatically receive it on the other position as "A" too.
Basically it is Detail(A-A) as in the following block.

Is it possible to link text to each other through visibility states without creating a block within the DB? I have 2 visibility states. Right Section, and Left Section. All notes and text stays the same, geometry is the only thing that mirrors between states.
The hope is that when I update the text on the "Right Section" state, that the same text on the "Left Section" state automatically updates with what I did on the "Right Section".
I solved this by creating multiple blocks within the DB. That works great, however there HAS to be an easier way to do this.
I am creating a border and making it attributed. I have the drawing number showing up in the title block and in the opposite corner of the page. I want to link the two somehow so that when one is edited the other automatically changes to match. Is this possible to do?

In the js file which edge creates I see that the value userClass: 'slideTitle' is assigned and slideTitle is defined in the default.css.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've made a fabulous Smoke Text effect that I then insert the .mov file into Final Cut Pro. The smoke effect I downloaded from the tutorial has a black background and therefore when rendered out, it's a basic white text against a black background. Once in FCP, I have to turn the file's opacity down in order for it to layer over a video file and not black out what I layer over it.
How can I make the file transparent? A simple toggle of the transparency grid isn't going to do it. I need to make or find a video of smoke that is transparent?
I’m trying to add some text effects over my video, but I’m really stuck right now getting After Effects and Adobe Premier to work together.
From the tutorials I’ve watched online, I’ve been trying to create a dynamic link between the two programs so I could easily create texts and other effects in AE that immediately show up on my timeline in Premier. I've been able to create texts, but whatever I create in AE is not showing up on the Premier timeline. Am I missing a step? Also, when I load up my sequence into AE, all of the color correcting that I’ve done with Looks inside Premier goes away, and the clips appear as they did right out of the camera.
I think I may have made a big error. While adding text and applying (experimenting) various "Effects" with the text, I used the garbage can icon to remove the "Effect", thinking it is going to remove the 'Effect" from the text, until I realized I had to remove the "Effect" with the edit button, not the garbage can. Have I now permanently removed the various "Effects" permanently or just off the screen? How do I regain them back onto the menu column? How many "Effects" should be visible in order to have the complete set? This was my first experiment with the lettering effects and hope I haven't lost them forever.

The video works fine, until at the end, when the camera moves through the text. When it moves through the text, it starts to "shake" the text. When the camera moves back away from the text, it stops shaking again.
I need to blur a moving object:
- The effect is only needed at some point of the video, it must appear, and then disappear, not being on screen the whole time.
- The object is moving, and changing shape, the blur must adapt to it.
- I've been trying to use the "Track Motion" option with Position & Rotation, then the "Analyze Forward" button, but the thing makes a mess all over, it's not following the object at all, then if You try to adjust it manually, it's only done in 1 frame, in the other frames the thing is off the object, then the "Tracking" stays on screen.
I was just wondering whether you can resize an object using keyframes. I want to have the object start small and then project and open out and grow. Is this possible?

is there a way to make CS6 only select an object if I click on the original vectors?

The problem is, the one at the top always reign and doesnt let other stroke effects on masks to appear. I reckon the problem is the background of the solid object. If this is the problem, how can I change the transparency of the background. If not, what might the problem be ?
is it possible to move a layer (with a mask) without affecting its mask position and without precomposing the layer? Much like in Photoshop, where you can achieve this by using vector masks. Let`s say I have a video-layer that has a square mask added to it. The mask is already perfectly positioned in the comp. I don`t want to move or adjust it any further. But I`m not pleased with the framing of the source material. If I`m moving the frame then, the masks moves along with it. Is there a way to get rid of this cohesion of mask and layer?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a crane shot. I'd like to insert an object (a little more rock on the cliff) in this crane shot. I've tried this with AE CC. Everything looks great AFTER the the crane shot is down moving up. :-/ (I used the 3D camera tracker.) The perspective on the object appears rather odd as the crane shot is moving up.
What would be the best way to approach this project?
I was watching a video on YouTube on how to make an explosion. However, the video is not very useful. The part I am stuck on is when he makes a "patch" of the texture in the driveway, and then he covers up his explosive box. After that, he copies the box and is able to make appear and dissapear.

when i change the angle of an object it effects the whole project, so if i have selected an circle and put the angle of a drop shadow to 90 degrees then i selected a recltangle and set drop shadow angle tp 120 degrees the circle will change to also be 120, does it always do this or am i just doing something wrong?

When turn and stack them the shadow has changed its angel in relation to the artwork. I don't see where to lock the drop shadow to the object. Or is it secified a different way?
