After Effects :: How To Resize Object Using Keyframes
May 28, 2013I was just wondering whether you can resize an object using keyframes. I want to have the object start small and then project and open out and grow. Is this possible?

View 1 RepliesI have created keyframes from audio file and used them to generate some effect, all works fine, it is amazing how easy it is However, I would like to generate flash (?) so that these effects would be dynamic to different audio files after export.
What I want is basically to create effects that can be used in life event to the streaming music.
I have this audio layer that I want to add as a soundtrack to the intro video I made. The audio is a bit longer than the intro so I added 2 keyframes at the end of the audio to act as a fade out (I decreased the audio levels from +0.00 dB to -19.00 dB). The problem is when I export the project, I don't hear this faiding out. Is like AE doesn't "reads" the 2 audio keyframes. (When I hit play inside the project, with RAM preview, I can hear the fading out, but not when exporting). I have to mention I export the project as .FLV, as .AVI exports much bigger files. I attached a screenshot so you can see the keyframes I'm talking about.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI wanted to copy some keyframes from AE to Calc, but when I copied it back it only created one keyframe, instead of the two. When I copy them from AE to the Windows Editor, do some changes there and copy them back, t works fine and there are two keyframes.

Is there a keyboard shortcut to only show keyframes?
I usually use "UU", but that shows keyframes, plus expressions.
how many keyframes and layers I ended up using. Does AE have any kind of function for getting this info?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI notice that if I use the CS6 feature of holding down the shift key while pickwhipping a new parent (to get the child to move to the parent), it deletes any keyframes I have set (position, scale, rotation). Is this normal behavior?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have several placeholders where I have added keyframes for instance opacity fade up and down at the beginning and ending of the layer. If I replace it and the video is longer/shorter than the placeholder then the keyframes will not adjust. Is there some way to have keyframes move dynamically based on the video length? I looked into expressions to calculate the start and end time of the layer then fade in and fade out using the time but it was quite time consuming and inefficient, it would also be hard to write new code for say position versus have dynamic keyframes.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI created a 3D object (a Doctor Who TARDIS) just for fun and I'm trying to figure out how to animate it spinning in space with the orbit camera and keyframes. I do the orbit and the keyframing works fine, but when I play it back the whole thing zooms in and out madly, almost like it is throbbing in and out. This funny "throbbing" happens in between the keyframes.
The zoom attribute in the camera options is actually locked, the only attributes changing as I move along the timeline are the position attributes, which I am keyframing off.
I'm want to drag an objects anchor and have the position co-ordinates offset by opposite amounts so it doesn't appear to move postioin on screen. IS there a tool for that?

I already tried to reset the workspace (F8 during startup).
All, Previously i worked with Excel 97 and Photoshop 7.1.0 or CS3 and i was able to copy a selection to the clipboard from a Photoshop drawing and then paste into an Excel 97 workbook as a Photoshop Object and then resize/format the object within the workbook until the desired format was reached before saving the workbook. No problem. Since upgrading to Excel 2007 i am no longer able to do this. When i paste the Photoshop Object into the Excel workbook it initially pastes fine however as soon as i attempt to resize the object it vanishes and i am left with a small square where the object was and any further attempts to manipulate this object does nothing. Is this a known issue with Excel 2007 or can anybody suggest what may be causing this please?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't resize a photo when I drag it to a new layer in another open project. I don't know if it is because it is a smart object or what. My workflow iscapture Raw photo, edit in raw, open in new project as smart layer, resize (fine), select split screen displaying this project and another one. Then I drag the photo across to the other project. A new layer opens in the project that I have copied my photo to but I can't resize it for some reason.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI usually use Photoshop and Fireworks, but have gotten sick of paying through the nose. I just installed Paint.net and notice that this program appears to be a great alternative to the above mentioned, but seems to be lacking a few tools. Once I get past the basics, I'll really start enjoying this program.
If I draw a square on a new layer, how do I select it to resize it or move it. I have tried to use the 'Move Selection' tool, but it keeps moving the entire layer and doesn't select the square.
1. Lately I can't resize an object. The surrounding border of the object is with filled rectanglers and not with hollow rectangler. Thus, I can't resize objects - how can I fix it ?
2. When I try to mark text, it's mark it perfectly but I can't see the higlighting even though I choose it. How can I mark text and see the text marked (chosen text marked)
In a training video on Illustrator cs6 a device is shown as follows, as the instructor manually resizes an Artboard using the Artboard tool:
Justin, the instructor, calls the little box that immediately shows width/height a "width and height box" but searching on that term is not productive. When I run the program the device is not available, not does the video explain what option makes it available or what might have changed on my particular copy to obscure or disable the box. While I know I can get the same effect by choosing the Info window, and can even adjust the parameters more precisely using the control panel bar, I would like to have the convenience of this box.
I note that in the same video series (from Lynda.com) the same type of display device is shown when the instructor resizes a graphic. After some 30 minutes of Google searches and searching for the identity of this device and how to enable it I come up empty.. An experienced Premiere editor, I'm trying to widen my skill set into more of the Adobe suite and new to Illustrator;
how can i resize an object (with the aid of paths) WITHOUT change the gradient? (ps, my default is right at scale strokes & effects)

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe do a lot of artwork for screenprinting that needs to generally be 11" tall for adult shirts and 9" tall for kids sizes.
I recorded a macro that basically copies everything on the 11" page onto a new page, pastes the graphic and then resizes it to 9" tall. The problem is that when it resizes, it doesn't seem to keep the proportions.
For example, if I have a circle that is 11"x11" and use my macro, I would expect it to be resized to 9"x9"
Instead, after using my macro, the circle is resized to 9" tall by 8.36" wide.
Did I make a mistake somewhere when recording this macro? I'm not a pro at deciphering macro scripts so I've attached it here:
Sub Kids_Size() ' Recorded 6/30/2011 ActivePage.Shapes.All.CreateSelection ActiveSelection.Copy Dim p1 As Page Set p1 = ActiveDocument.InsertPagesEx(1, False, ActivePage.Index, 11#, 17#) p1.Layers("Layer 1").Paste Dim Paste1 As ShapeRange Set Paste1 = ActiveSelectionRange ActiveDocument.ReferencePoint = cdrCenter Paste1.SetSize 8.360346, 8.999996End Sub
I'd like to scale, rotate, and/or reposition a pattern-filled Live Paint cell, without cuting the cell from the Live Paint object. Can I do that? I routinely do this in normal objects, using the "~" key trick, but this only seems to work globally, on a Live Paint object (scales all pattern fills, not just one cell).
I'm still using CS5, but am interested to know if it can be done in CS6 as well.
How do I resize, rotate and reposition a logo within a Photoshop object using Warp and/or Vanishing Point? This may be a Photoshop question.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to blur a moving object:
- The effect is only needed at some point of the video, it must appear, and then disappear, not being on screen the whole time.
- The object is moving, and changing shape, the blur must adapt to it.
- I've been trying to use the "Track Motion" option with Position & Rotation, then the "Analyze Forward" button, but the thing makes a mess all over, it's not following the object at all, then if You try to adjust it manually, it's only done in 1 frame, in the other frames the thing is off the object, then the "Tracking" stays on screen.
In CS6, when you apply an effect that somehow expands the appearance of an object, for example by making multiple clones, all of these clones become selectable. If you click on or drag-box an area that includes these clones, the original object will be selected.
is there a way to make CS6 only select an object if I click on the original vectors?
whereby I can draw an arrow on a clip within AE CC and have the point of the arrow locked to a person head as they move along i.e. I wish to 'point out' an individual in marathon. This will be transferred back into PremPro for further editing.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have three different solid object and all those three have different masks and stroke effects in them.
The problem is, the one at the top always reign and doesnt let other stroke effects on masks to appear. I reckon the problem is the background of the solid object. If this is the problem, how can I change the transparency of the background. If not, what might the problem be ?
is it possible to move a layer (with a mask) without affecting its mask position and without precomposing the layer? Much like in Photoshop, where you can achieve this by using vector masks. Let`s say I have a video-layer that has a square mask added to it. The mask is already perfectly positioned in the comp. I don`t want to move or adjust it any further. But I`m not pleased with the framing of the source material. If I`m moving the frame then, the masks moves along with it. Is there a way to get rid of this cohesion of mask and layer?
