How do I resize, rotate and reposition a logo within a Photoshop object using Warp and/or Vanishing Point? This may be a Photoshop question.
View 1 RepliesI'd like to scale, rotate, and/or reposition a pattern-filled Live Paint cell, without cuting the cell from the Live Paint object. Can I do that? I routinely do this in normal objects, using the "~" key trick, but this only seems to work globally, on a Live Paint object (scales all pattern fills, not just one cell).

I'm still using CS5, but am interested to know if it can be done in CS6 as well.
Is there any way to resize and reposition an image on a 3D shape without affecting the shape itself, or is it just a process of trial and error, depending on the size and position of the image before you select New Mesh From Layer?

But I need it to be oval shaped. I tried using the blend tool, which works great around a circle but on an oval, the objects get scrunched together at the peak of the oval. How do you rotate and evenly space the objects around an oval?
This is driving my crazy, I have been using vanishing point to copy a slab of granite onto a counter top to see what it would look like with my kitchen decor.
Everything was going along just fine and I got an island countertop covered using the right plane for it but when i tried to repeat the process for another section of counter I can't get it to work.
I make the grids just where I want them and include the island counter in the grid so I will have a source to copy from.? When I click on the Marquee tool for selecting a section of the source and then click and drag it to where I want it there is nothing in the selection.
I can see the rectangle of the Marquee moving as I drag but when I get to the target area and release it there is nothing there.
I am wanting to create 3D text where a vanishing point is behind the text in a perspective grid.

The AI (Vector) file(s) in the zip file are to be utilized for all high-res. And commercial printing applications. It is an Adobe Illustrator file and can only be opened and/or utilized if you have this professional design software. All commercial printers will have access to utilize these files.

I got the adobe illustrator and I am trying to fix the logo and just can not get the size.
I design flags for people and have worked with Illustrator for just over a year. Most logo's I've worked are 2D and I've never had any issues that I could overcome ( I learn as I go along) however I have been given a logo which has the Extrude & Bevel effect on (which I haven't worked with before) (see first image). I have to make this logo much bigger but when i do it stretches and reshapes the logo. (see 2nd image).

The scale stroke & effect box, is checked. I am working in CS6. So how do I resize this logo proportionately?
I've been using the Gimp for a year or so. I have a project where I'm trying out a logo design on a football helmet. I've tried, unsuccessfully, to use the perspective tool to 'wrap' the logo realistically. The helmet photo is shot at an angle.
I've seen 'morph' plugins that essentially let you set points around an object that correspond to the same points after the pic is 'morphed'. What I'm looking for is a plugin that would allow me to map the straight-on view of the new logo with the points corresponding to the existing 'wrapped' logo to produce a realistic logo.
I need some of my objects to always rotate around the same point. How can I select a point which will stay that way? Using the rotate tool resets after deselecting.

Also, I'd like to rotate objects around a certain point even when using the right click > Transform > Rotate.
I did it earlier, but now everytime I try "alt-click" to make the light blue cross hairs, nothing happens. I am trying to make a gear in illustrator and this is a key componant.Â
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a pattern that I have created in previous itterations of Illustrator. In CC when I create a triangle (either via Star, Poly, or Pen tool) and then try to rotate it via Transform Each > Transform again, the rotation point moves according to what the bounding box would be if I reset it, rather than staying in one (original) spot relative to the actual bounding box and triangle. I cannot find any settings that would be affecting the rotate point in this way. I am pretty confident that I am using the same procedure now that I did in older versions of Illustrator. Perhaps I am using the wrong procedure.

Naturally, if you are rotating something around its center you should expect that it would end up create a circular pattern. It is more of a square with concave sides. The red is a perfect circle that I grouped to the triangle to demonstrate the rotate points movement. It is located in the exact center according to the align tools.
I use the rotate tool to design gauges, like clocks, a lot. I hold the ALT button and click on the center of my drawing and then a window pops up to enter in what degree I want my object to be. Currently the decimal point only allows for hundredths, ex. 45.25 degrees. Is there any way to change this to thousandths or even higher, ex. 45.25125? I've attached a screenshot to show you what I mean.

When I'm done I export using save as 3ds and then import in to Autodesk 3ds Max 2009 and After Effects CS3 (saving as vpe). I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I always get the camera flipped in strange angels. Is there some sort of tutorial showing how the workflow how to set up a scene that works in a 3dsMax or After Effects?

Then I wanted to put my words on a newpaper for the back of the flyer...so I took a pic of a newspaper at the angle I wanted and then used VP AGAIN to do EXACTLY what I wanted!
Vanishing point rocks!
Dont mind the clipping on the corners...There is a bleed area when you make the flyers...so there is nothing that needs to go there
I've got a problem using Vanishing Point filter in Photoshop CS4. When I load this filter an error message pops saying "The operation could not be completed" I attach a screen cap of the error.

Which works allright but I assume that I need to use the constants defined in the Transformation class? I cannot just input a 2D point to scale around? Would be handy. I have a feeling that I need to use a transformation matrix to do this.
I`m currently using PS CS5 Extended to measure some objects in Vanishing Point (because I need the measurements to respect a certain perspective plane) and I`ve come across something that doesn`t seem right. I`ll try to describe it as best i can. I`m drawing my perspective plane based on a white reference square 60x60 cm. Then I calibrate the grid (with the measure tool) and when I extend the perspective towards the vanishing point (towards the small sides of the square) evething is fine, my calibration value does not change (as it should). But when I extend the perspective away from the vanishing point (towards the large sides of the square) my calibration value changes, it`s value increases. This is a HUGE problem for me as this influences all my subsequent measurements. It makes me question how correct the measurements really are. When I extend the grid the calibration value should NOT change. explain why this happens????

I went to my broadloom carpet file - selected the carpet - went to the room scene file - added a layer - went to vanishing point - created my grid - CTRL V .........and nothin! All of my options are greyed out.
What gives!! I have spent the whole day closing opening files, restarting PS, trying this on different files scouring the web for an answer to my dilemma.
I'm working in CS3. I have created a multi-layered image. Now, I want to go back to one layer and begin editing in vanishing point. But, when I'm in that layer, vanishing point is greyed out in the filters drop down. What's my problem and how do I get on the right track?
View 4 Replies View Related just received a file and it took me a while to work out that part of the artwork was created using vanishing point. Is there a quick way to know if vanishing point has been used in the file? Unlike other filters, there doesn't appear to be any symbols indicating this.

I've tried selecting the layer I want to work with, made a new layer, even tried selecting from different tools. I can open other filters but not this one. This is a complex, large file with many layers...
