View 20 RepliesI create a graphic in Corel Draw X4 and export it as a .png file. It is a button with rounded corners. It will be going on a black background when put into an iphone app. So as to not have the little white corners show up from the rectangular export window, I made the button on top of a black rectangle, slightly larger than the button. I then selected the black to be transparant during the dialogs of exporting to png. When viewed in an image viewer the black is indeed transparent and does not show up. All looks fine.
To test what it will look like when put on top of a black background, I also make a black square and export it as a .png. I then open the black background in Corel Photopaint and then import the graphic into the background image. A siloutte of it shows up with the marque borders but the graphic itself (the colors and contents of the graphic don't). When combined with the black background it just disappears. Why doesn't it just lay on top of the other graphic?
I am looking to warp a pattern within an object but not the object itself.

I have figured out how to create and use a custom graphic for this. However, no matter what size circle I create, it seems to default back to the size of what the square was.
Is there any way to customize the size of the graphic objects used in the scatter chart?
How do you add a keyline stroke around an imported tiff, jpeg etc? In InDesign it's as simple as adding stroke to the frame (the frame is automatically created upon import).
OK, I think I figured this out and it is soooo Illustrator:
Add stroke to object (nothing visible happens); apply a 'convert to rectangle' effect to the invisible stroke and... voila, a simple keyline!
How do you achieve the graphic line movement.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen the wind space warp is used, what series of mathematical equations or algorithms is 3ds Max invoking to generate motion based on an input force, turbulence value, etc.?
Are traditional fluid dynamics equations embedded into the calculation process? Is there any way to specifically see how the wind force (strength) and turbulence are interpreted to cause the modeled motion?
Is there any way to switch between wind force (strength) and wind velocity?
Lastly, if one were to have an object billowing in a breeze, is there any way to track the coordinates of a vertex at each point in time? The closest I've come is manually extracting the object's box dimensions at each interval - I would prefer to track how a fixed point on the object moves over time.
I pasted a vector object into PS CS6 (13.0.1 x32) today directly from Illustrator CS6 (16.0.1 x32), and selected "Paste as Smart Object" (Windows XP Pro SP3).
I then tried to warp the pasted object using the Free Transform tool by dragging one of the corner handles with CTRL held down (Windows).
This usually warpsdistorts the object, but instead, this launched a skew operation.
If I paste as Shape Layer or as Pixels then apply Free Transform, <Ctrl + corner handle drag> performs a warpdistort operation. Also, if I rasterise the pasted AI object, and then convert to a Smart Object I can warpdistort.
Is it not possible to paste an Illustrator vector in as a Smart Object, and then warpdistort it directly using this technique?
So I have text that I would like warp in an Arc. I will be cutting this on a plotter. WHen I use the envelope distort the envelope blocks my text in outline mode. If I go to Effect>Arc the warp only occurs in preview but the outlines do not change as the plotter would see it.
I'm sure there is some way to warp text into an arc and have the outlines remain visible and warped for the plottter to cut, no?
i need a code to save user onscreen selection to jpg.
i think i will declare Graphic object and draw each entity in this object but what will i do for the text dimension complicated blocks.
How to do a text warp like the top of a class ring similar to this image.
I have tried to work with the mesh envelope tool, but the letters get all distorted and don't run evenly around the corner. I can't seem to get a nice consistent look like this.
__ Can I warp artwork to match the curve of a dieline?
I'm sure there's a way to do it, but I just don't know how (plus I'm horrible at math & geometry, I'll admit). I have the attached dieline, and I need to 'warp' my art to match it somehow.
Using Illustrator CC. I made a sphere shape and reshaped it using a warp effect.
Now when I try use a transform command (reflect or rotate) it only effects the “original” bound box which is the sphere I first made, and not my warp effect shape. My question is can I modify a shape after I apply a warp effect?
I have read illustrator js doc many time but could not find any function that is responsible for ARC the text like.
Warp options in illustrator object->Envolop Distort -> Make with Warp.
I would like a method of overlaying a text block on a picture and have the text change to a different (most contrasting) colour so that it stays readable. Is this possible - maybe with a Boolean function? If so how do I do it.

I have tried retyping the text, copying the text from another file, and expanding the appearance befor using the warp and to no avail-- it always turns my drop shadow into a glow.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an InDesign document, where I have defined some Object styles for my text frames - such as the size (width x hight) of the text frames, and this works fine.
I would like to do the same thing for my graphic frames, but I can't find this option. I figure it must be possible somehow?
An object style which makes the picture frame ex. 50 x 50 mm. with the picture centered in the frame.
I've got a car that's been imported from Alias. Its been tessellated via showcase. I'm trying to UV map it as I need to apply some camouflage and it's not going so well. I get an extremely complex UV layout in the UV editor based on the original NURBS patch layout from Alias, needless to say its not very useable.

I can scale it and move it and things like that, but if i wish to change the height. I tried scaling it, but it messes up the object. The object I am trying to shorten is a measuring rack on this site [URL].......
I can't change the objects height. Perhaps it's because it's a block reference or something. I've tried editing the block itself, but i have no luck in trying to edit the height. I cant splice it either.
I've attached the file im trying to change the height of.
I am trying to use it to do something for school. I imported a 3d object from a dwg file and there is a channel that curves along it cut into that. I want to move a cylinder in this channel. I cannot seem to find anything that will allow me to make a spline that mirrors the edge of the object or to constrain the cylinder to the object.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI imported a character model that I downloaded off of the internet into maya, and I have run into a snag as I'm rigging, skin binding, etc. The model has a main body, but its armor is actually separate geometry. My problem is that the shoulder pads and leg armor are mirrored, so that when one moves, the other one does as well, which is a big problem when I want to animate the model. Is there a simple way to split the pieces up so that they are not mirroring each other? My guess is that they were originally created that way so that each side didn't have to be individually worked on.

I have a 3ds model of a golf ball I purchased. It imports properly into my Photoshop CC. I haven't been able to figure out how to apply an image (my logo) to the surface of the golf ball. Also, the golf ball has a dimpled surface so I will want the image to follow the contours of the ball, as if it would look if the logo were painted onto a real golf ball.
EDIT: Also, I want to keep the golf ball as a 3d object so I can animate it in a scene.

The envelope of the solid body is much larger than the actual part. This is causing the origin to be skewed by several orders of magnitude. Any way to trim down the envelope to the part size?

I'm trying to wrap an image around a curved object. This is a front elevation of a sign I am attempting to render and the sign wraps around a pole. What I am attempting to do is not just "squeeze" the copy but actually attempt to show what the image will look like if you are looking directly at it which means that the closest portion of the image will look normal but as you look further out towards the edges then the graphic and copy would appear to merge and disappear backwards. I hope I am explaining this well. I am trying to wrap my brain around this concept. I know you can do this in photoshop with stretching but cannot fathom how I can attempt this in CorelDraw or Illustrator.
