CorelDRAW X6 :: Readability Of Text Overlaying Graphic Object
Oct 23, 2012
I would like a method of overlaying a text block on a picture and have the text change to a different (most contrasting) colour so that it stays readable. Is this possible - maybe with a Boolean function? If so how do I do it.
I'm trying to wrap an image around a curved object. This is a front elevation of a sign I am attempting to render and the sign wraps around a pole. What I am attempting to do is not just "squeeze" the copy but actually attempt to show what the image will look like if you are looking directly at it which means that the closest portion of the image will look normal but as you look further out towards the edges then the graphic and copy would appear to merge and disappear backwards. I hope I am explaining this well. I am trying to wrap my brain around this concept. I know you can do this in photoshop with stretching but cannot fathom how I can attempt this in CorelDraw or Illustrator.
how to sort (alphabetically, for instance) the Graphic and Text styles in the Graphic and Text Docker? I need the styles "Roads-county", "Roads-State" & "Roads-US" near each other and "apples" listed first.
I've read how to fill text with an image by laying the image over the text and setting it as a clipping mask. But I want to achieve a particular effect, and my text also has a surrounding shape.
Here is a snapshot of my layers:
You can see I have a group comprising the text, and a shape layer (with stroke) to define a border. Both text and border are a mid-grey.
And I have set the group to "Color Burn" (over the image) to get an effect I like in the text. I would now like to achieve two separate things:
(a) retain just the text and border (with color burned image within), the rest as white (or transparent) (b) retain the text and border AND the paler image within the border, everything outside the border as white (or transparent)
In both cases, it would be far preferable to keep the text as a single editable text layer, and the shape layer as an editable shape layer, so that I can tweak both later.
I'm not sure how to achieve either! The techniques I've see have the image on TOP of the text, but for my effect the image is UNDER the text.
I am trying to blend cut up pieces of a newspaper type thing into a person's face. I want the text to be visible, but not overt and blended into the skin. Any idea how to get this effect? I had tried by cloning the face and sticking the text between the two layers, which kinda worked, but i want a more "collage" kind of effect.
Is there a way to insert a Ai graphic into msWord and the graphic text still be searchable in msWord? I would like the text in my Ai graphic to be searchable once the graphic is inserted in msWord. I have tried different Ai exports, but all come into msWord as pictures. Is there a way to keep the Text Layer in my Ai file searchable in msWord.
This may be confusing, but I wonder if there's any way to link an object to a certain text place or paragraph in a text frame, so if you edit the text somewhere, the "linked" image will move up/down with its associated text? That is, the object being a part of the text flow.
i have this drawing that a friend made of this certificate. when i click (with the PICK TOOL) on the text that i want to edit it shows Black Box's in the corner (4 of them) around the entire section of that text. my question is how can i edit just one line of that text . i saw them do it at the shop where they made the certificate but they where not using X5.
when i click with the PICK TOOL but then when i try to select the text tool it just wants to make new text on a new layer.
I am a CorelDraw rookie with a deadline and I am stuck. The problem is this: I have a lot of texts and at times there are objects that should come within the text. So I put it there nicely but when I delete or add something in the text, the object does not follow the text so it all gets in a mess. Is there any way to lock an object to a certain point in the text, so when the text changes the object follows? Does it make sense?
I can no longer type in the size of an object. I draw a rectangle and then type in the correct size. Nothing happens. The size of the box does not change.
It's the same with text. If I type a name that needs to fit a certain area, I type in the size for the width and it doesn't change.
I wish to align a text like this at an oval shape. The field of the text body does align at all - which I can understand. Using the grafic text, it aligns directly on/ over the outline of the oval shape. But I won't have the whole text in a round - I just want to have the paragraph's left side to be aligned/ positioned at the outer shape of the oval.
My delima is regarding cogo point readability. I'm used to LDD so this may be the issue. I set a cogo point but I want it to stay in the same orientation. if I use orbit or dview the cogo point data reorients (rotates) to line up horizontally. I would like the data to remain as set originally. I tried changing plan readabilty in label styles but when I drag the point it rotates to the current view orientation. Is there a way to control the rotation once dragged so it does not reorient if I change the orbit or dview?
In a layout for an ebook I have some important black and white bitmap illustrations in tiff., 300 dpi. These have appeared ok on print, but on screen, reading the same pdf-file, they're unacceptable, especially some texts in fontsize 5-6 pt are unclear. I have to convert the drawings, or at least the texts, to vector graphics. Can I open these tiff.s in Photoshop, change only the texts to vector graphics and then save in a format, that can be inserted in the Word2010 layout?
When setting a URL link to selected text in a text object, the link style (blue w/ underline) is not preserved after save, close & reopening. The url is still set if you select the same text. The biggest issue is when publishing to PDF, those links do not get published as it did in previous versions of CorelDRAW. This breaks thousands of our documents when publishing to pdf since we have upgraded from X3 to X6. This is a show stopper for us using X6.
How do I take like SHARKS text and place it inside the shape of a shark outline so the text takes the shape of the shark shape then I remove the outline shape and the letters stay the shape of the shark outline.
Is it possible to assign a type of link to an object or text where the user can open the document and click on the object which is on the first page and it will take them to a specified page set by the link? This is kind of like web design but not, know what I mean?
i would like to create same layout as below but the problem comes when i have to give inner shadow to any object as shown below. My idea is to get embedded look and feel like this itune web page has.
I am working on a scatter chart in Illustrator. We would like to use circles instead of the default square. I have figured out how to create and use a custom graphic for this. However, no matter what size circle I create, it seems to default back to the size of what the square was.
Is there any way to customize the size of the graphic objects used in the scatter chart?
I have an InDesign document, where I have defined some Object styles for my text frames - such as the size (width x hight) of the text frames, and this works fine.
I would like to do the same thing for my graphic frames, but I can't find this option. I figure it must be possible somehow?
An object style which makes the picture frame ex. 50 x 50 mm. with the picture centered in the frame.
Does the Style setting Plan Readability work for General Notes? I've been thinking we should use notes for all our text so that they react the same as all the other Civil 3D labels. But they don't seem to. They scale correctly but stay parallel to the UCS.
I've tried this in a fresh drawing from a simple template and from an OOTB template. They never rotate in a layout. Is this the normal behavior or am I missing a setting? This is how I have it set in my style:
Civil 3D 2012 SP 2.1 Dell Precision T7400, Xeon CPU 3.16 GHz Win 7 Pro, 64-bit,12 GB RAM, Nvidia Quadro FX 4600
Im using brush with 40% opacity i draw a line and then draw another over it but i want the place where they intersect be just as the color im drawing with. I'll just upload pic.
I have an irregularly shaped graphic that I want to post to a webpage without any surrounding background. Every time I save it, it creates a rectangular background that is visible when I post it to my webpage. How can I make that background invisible?
How to create very convincing 'Dusk Renderings', see: [URL]......
I tried this and despite my efforts being not quite as good as that produced in the video I was pleased with the result, as follows:
This is a cropped image created from a 'prt sc' of a Revit sheet view on which I had superimposed the png image over the jpg, having followed the instructions in the video. However, when I came to export the project to dwfx, the jpg file (the sky) disappeared leaving only the png image as shown herewith:
Can I not paste one over the other within the Revit environment, and get the expected result perhaps? Can the complete image only be achieved in a picture editing program?
