When I place an object on the stage, I can move or resize is uzing the handles. However when I enter the coordinates or dimensions manualy nothing hapens.
I already tried to reset the workspace (F8 during startup).
I usually use Photoshop and Fireworks, but have gotten sick of paying through the nose. I just installed Paint.net and notice that this program appears to be a great alternative to the above mentioned, but seems to be lacking a few tools. Once I get past the basics, I'll really start enjoying this program.
If I draw a square on a new layer, how do I select it to resize it or move it. I have tried to use the 'Move Selection' tool, but it keeps moving the entire layer and doesn't select the square.
We do a lot of artwork for screenprinting that needs to generally be 11" tall for adult shirts and 9" tall for kids sizes.
I recorded a macro that basically copies everything on the 11" page onto a new page, pastes the graphic and then resizes it to 9" tall. The problem is that when it resizes, it doesn't seem to keep the proportions.
For example, if I have a circle that is 11"x11" and use my macro, I would expect it to be resized to 9"x9"
Instead, after using my macro, the circle is resized to 9" tall by 8.36" wide.
Did I make a mistake somewhere when recording this macro? I'm not a pro at deciphering macro scripts so I've attached it here:

I'm a long time user and fan of Corel Draw; are there any plans to mimic Adobe when you draw and move a primitive in Corel Draw.
I love the feature in the Adobe Suite that lets you start a selection or primitive shape and dynamically move and place the shape as you'reinitially marking out it's width and Height "by holding down the space bar". I find this less constricting as you can begin draw the shape from anywhere on the page and move it anywhere before you commit to the size and placement.
My CorelDRAW has just developed a glitch - I can select objects but not move them (other than by using the nudge button) and if I click twice on the object it doesn't change the nodes to allow me to rotate - weird and seriously difficult to do any work in the programme. I've tried turning the computer off and on again and have tried the default setting.

Recently, when I draw a line, it not show the line until done it.
Means, I cant see where is my actual line.
Moreover, when i highlight the object (many objects), it doest show where is my line indicator...
What happened to the option/enter command in the move object dialog that has been around since the early days of Illustrator??? Instead of having to mouse click the "copy" button in the move object window, one could just hold down option with Return or Enter and the Copy command would happen rather than a simple move. Immensely useful for prepress work!

I am having issues moving and resizing a image once it has been "placed" onto the document. It seems to be locked and even when I agree to place the image, I can still not move or resize it. This happens on all file types and CS6.

When I try to resize an layer using the move tool (as opposed to the Free Transform tool), while I'm in the process of moving the scaling handles, the bounding box reflects my movement but the layer preview stays at it's original size. When I stop moving the handles there is a few seconds delay and then the new scale size shows up. If I try to move the handles again, without commiting to the transform, the layer preview reverts back to it's original size until I've finished moving the handles.
I didn't have this problem with CS4 and I've only recently upgraded. I work around this problem by using the proper Free Transform tool (ctrl+t) but it would be nice to know why the hell this happens. It seems to me to be more of a graphical glitch than a software preference but I thought I'd check just-in-case.

I have some viewports in paper space and when I resize the view port, the objects inside move in a strange way. I don't know if a variable got reset or something but this is weird. Normally I can resize a viewport and the objects stay in the same location. But now they seem to be moving relative to the edge of the viewport.

This wasn't a problem in previous versions, but now when I select more than one clip (or grouped objects), the effect controls go away. I have a lower third (the title and 2 different cropped color mattes) that I want to be able to move and resize while maintaining their relationship, and I can't figure it out. I've been using Premiere for a long time, and this is a huge inconvenience. I also cannot highlight multiple clips, and adjust their length together. I go to tranform image size and the outline surrounding the photo only moves up/down or side-to-side. How do I get the outline to move at the corners so I can easily manipulate the size? View 4 Replies View RelatedAll, Previously i worked with Excel 97 and Photoshop 7.1.0 or CS3 and i was able to copy a selection to the clipboard from a Photoshop drawing and then paste into an Excel 97 workbook as a Photoshop Object and then resize/format the object within the workbook until the desired format was reached before saving the workbook. No problem. Since upgrading to Excel 2007 i am no longer able to do this. When i paste the Photoshop Object into the Excel workbook it initially pastes fine however as soon as i attempt to resize the object it vanishes and i am left with a small square where the object was and any further attempts to manipulate this object does nothing. Is this a known issue with Excel 2007 or can anybody suggest what may be causing this please?

My workflow iscapture Raw photo, edit in raw, open in new project as smart layer, resize (fine), select split screen displaying this project and another one. In a training video on Illustrator cs6 a device is shown as follows, as the instructor manually resizes an Artboard using the Artboard tool:
Justin, the instructor, calls the little box that immediately shows width/height a "width and height box" but searching on that term is not productive. When I run the program the device is not available, not does the video explain what option makes it available or what might have changed on my particular copy to obscure or disable the box. While I know I can get the same effect by choosing the Info window, and can even adjust the parameters more precisely using the control panel bar, I would like to have the convenience of this box.
I note that in the same video series (from Lynda.com) the same type of display device is shown when the instructor resizes a graphic. After some 30 minutes of Google searches and searching for the identity of this device and how to enable it I come up empty.. View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I drag an effect from the target circle of one object to anther in the layer's panel it replaces the effect along with all appearance. But I want just to add the effect. For example, a layer has a drop shadow and a path, round corners. I want to move the drop shadow from the layer to the path so that the path now has the round corners and the drop shadow. To do this I have to open the shadow effect of the layer wright down its parameters, then create a shadow effect for the path with the same parameters which is a lot of work.
