InDesign :: Spacing Between Text Frames?
Mar 3, 2014Any way to preserve spaces between text boxes or frames, in other words if i designed a template consist of two text boxes the space between the first and the second box is 9.77 mm then i removed some text from the first text box (auto fitting to content) so the height of the first text box will decrease and the space between the two text boxes (9.77 mm) will increase, what i want to do is to fix this space so if any text box decreased in height the other text box lefted up or down to fix this space (9.77 mm).

Feb 5, 2014When I draw a frame, suddenly In-Design has started to put a slightly larger area around it which also repels text. I must have inadvertently invoked this feature somehow, but as I'm not sure what I did to cause it I can't work out how to rid myself of its effect.

Mar 27, 2014I made this gorgeous table of contents with nice paragraph styles and a text frame on the master page. I put the text in the first frame and that filled my pages as intented. After that I used my paragraphs titles and the table of contents was done. But now I have a problem because I need to change the page order. I'm completely lost cause now my document is a mess. So is it possible to make a table of contents without using connected text frames because I know that I will have to change page order later and I want to avoid the mess I just made?

Mar 24, 2014I am working on an InDesign project that I am wanting to export as a SWF (because of animation). I have a few pages with scrollable text frames applied with the folio overlays panel. When I export the document as a SWF file, the scrollable text frames are rendered inactive. Is there a way to export as a SWF and keep the scrollable text frames intact? I do not want to export as an interactive PDF because of the use of animation.

I would like to do the same thing for my graphic frames, but I can't find this option. I figure it must be possible somehow?
An object style which makes the picture frame ex. 50 x 50 mm. with the picture centered in the frame.

Mar 14, 2012I'm currently working with AutoCAD Civil 3D Land Desktop Companion. The drawing has hundreds of callouts for different elements all over the site. The callouts are in form of a block, with a number inside. The number corresponds to a notes page which lists each detail in chronological order. (nothing new there)
Due to an expanding and shifting job site, notes have been added and deleted. The problem is now we have to go back through and update all the callout blocks. For example: We have 75 notes in our list, if note number 3 changes or is deleted, we need to go through and change all the numbers in all the blocks to reflect the change to the list.
Is there a way to link blocks to an mtext list? or possibly a spreadsheet?

Jul 19, 2012I have a little knowledge of AutoCAD and I do a lot of reports using only AutoCAD, each sheet has a border on it with the project info, no., etc. Is there a way we can link the text blocks in page 1/layout 1 to the other pages/layouts so I don't have to go to each layout and edit the text block individually? Also, i did not draw the template so as to how it was constructed i do not know.

When you double click on the block I don't want to enter "A" as the attribute value twice. I just want to type "A" one time and automatically receive it on the other position as "A" too.

Aug 11, 2013Is it possible to treat one text object as a "master style" text object and link other text objects to its font, kerning and other qualities, so that only changing the font of one text object impacts the font choice of many objects?
Kind of like "styles", but as a "work around" for there not being text styles in After Effects.
AutoCAD Dynamic Blocks :: Visibility States / Text Linking
Oct 26, 2012Is it possible to link text to each other through visibility states without creating a block within the DB? I have 2 visibility states. Right Section, and Left Section. All notes and text stays the same, geometry is the only thing that mirrors between states.
The hope is that when I update the text on the "Right Section" state, that the same text on the "Left Section" state automatically updates with what I did on the "Right Section".
I solved this by creating multiple blocks within the DB. That works great, however there HAS to be an easier way to do this.

Apr 3, 2014I have hundreds of diagrams in Microsoft word that need importing to Indesign. I have imported the illustration part of the diagrams via Illustrator but i now need to bring in the diagrams' text labelling.
The diagrams have a lot of text labels which each appear in their own text box, but if I save the .doc as an rtf and import it into InDesign, it imports all my individual textboxes into 1 large textbox which I can't seem to separate them from.
If I select one of my labels in Indesign and copy and paste it, it is now a separate text box - great, but InDesign won't let me select multiple text boxes within it's large text box and it just is not feasible for me to be selecting each box individually to cut and paste it.
Edit: Each individual text box (within the large textbox they have been imported into) appears to have been anchored on import. If I release the anchor this does what I need in the same way as cutting and pasting, but again, indesign won't let me select more than one and it would take far too long to select each box individually to release it. So I guess I'm either asking for a different import methos, or a way to select multiple textboxes that have been imported into a single text box.
InDesign :: Pasted Text Differs From Copied Text On The Same Page
Apr 1, 2014I'm printing a document trying to get two out of each page. I imported text, formatted it within Indesign cs3 and not it's time to copy the block and paste it onto the right side of the page. But the pasted version had a .50 tab at the first word which does not exist on the original side. How do I fix this?

How do I make a border with a transparent middle section. So I can use that border for a flash project (picture album etc). I know how to make a border over a picture, I just need to know how to make a border that I can use over any image of my choosing.

How do I make a text only image that is transparent. Lets say I make the word "Home" with a Bevel, how do I keep the word only without the white background? I keep getting the full canvas size (e.g 100X100) with the word Home in the middle (including all the effects I add to the word) on a white background, even when I have set my options to transparent background.

Mar 28, 2012Just started with CDRX6 (Upgrade) and find a frustrating feature with text in text frames. If you import text into a frame and then move the position of the frame in the layout, the text repositions in a waterfall motion within the frame. It takes a second or two to settle down, and the frame also jumps position somewhere else en route before reaching the point you are dragging it to. It can be moved more smoothly using the arrow keys, but that is painfully slow.
I do not have this problem with X5. Is it a symptom of some new feature in X6, or is it a fault in installation?

Then select all frames, open Text Tool, start typing word into Frame #1 and and now finished go to Optimize tab and only Frame #1 has text.
Xara :: Page Numbers And Text Frames?
Sep 15, 2013From the File>New I take the A4 - 1 Column template and then add a side by side page and no page number appear on the right page.
If I then add text so that it overflows the pages 1 and 2 and creates two new ones the left hand one now has page 3 but still no page numbers on the right.
If add text to a single A4 1 Column and overflows it creates a second page with page number as expected, if I then convert it to side by side it has the page number on the right.
My question is why it works in the second method and not with the first, when setting up a new document it is the path one would expect to set the pages as you want first.
Is there any way of showing the text areas (frames) just not when you click in them? as one does to show grids.
GIMP :: Make Text Visible On All Of Frames Of GIF
Aug 11, 2013There's this GIF that I'd like to use for a banner and when I open the file in GIMP, add a text and then check the animation in the playback window, I can only see the text once the GIF has ended but also, I can only see the text for like one second.
Is it possible to make the text visible on all of the frames of the GIF without having to duplicate the text 100s of times and merging them onto each frames?

my problem is when I try to move text frames. It flies way of the page. I just want to move the text a slight amount and concatenate is the only way I have been successful. my question is: Is there a better way and why is my text flying so far of the page?
After Effects :: How To Fade Some Text From 100% Opacity To 0% Over 45 Frames
Nov 6, 2013I'm trying to fade some text from 100% opacity to 0% over 45 frames, and end my layer when it gets to 0, (Thus making it dissapear?). My text stays there with 0% opacity (Slightly visable), untill the next layer begins.. I don't understand why I can see it when the layer it's on has ended. I preview it with audio using num 0.
This has happened to me multiple times and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Some of my text fades and dissapears normally, but I don't understand what's different about it. I'm probably doing lots wrong, but I'm pretty new and you have to start somewhere! This is also my first post, hope it's in the right forum.
