I am having real difficulty linking the base human to the gnou CAT rig, so that the gnou can walk with the human sat on top with realistic movement. I have tried using a link constraint from the pelvis which doesn't work and I've tried using IK. Either way I cannot get the pelvis to link to the spine of the gnou.
Is it possible to treat one text object as a "master style" text object and link other text objects to its font, kerning and other qualities, so that only changing the font of one text object impacts the font choice of many objects?
Kind of like "styles", but as a "work around" for there not being text styles in After Effects.
We like to put our dimension lines in CorelDraw 5 on separate layers from the objects being dimensioned. This way we can turn the dimensions ON/OFF depending on our needs. Unfortunately, we find that the dimensions for these objects do not move with the objects on the other layer. We have also found that certain edit operations seem to break the link between the objects on one layer and their dimensions on another layer.
How we can maintain our dimension lines on one layer, the objects on another, and prevent the problems described above?
i have just finished making all the pages for my site, ive sliced all the buttons and content parts, so i open the page in my editor and link all the buttons, then i get to one of the smaller buttons. i go to link it to the page and it shifts all my things up leaving white cracks everywhere. along with that a small purple box comes around the link. i want to put this on the web
When you insert anything else (like your default layers into an existing drawing), you use DWG.
However, in the described case... the DWG would basically be the same as the DWT (as it would be your default layer setup, or have your company styles etc), so you would create the DWG by going to new and then save immediately.
What bothers me about this is that you then basically have two files... which should be one file - or at least they should be linked: version control.
How do I make sure, non-manually, that the "template DWG" and the "template DWT" are the same, remain the same etc? Or how do I eliminate one of the two?
AutoCAD Mechanical has the "Drawing Setup" utility to import a DWT - am I just overlooking a similar option in Vanilla?
I just purchased Photoshop CS2 and I noticed the linking feature for layers has been changed. I used to be able to link layers together by clicking in th box with the chain link, but now that box is gone. I did notice there is the link symbol at the bottom of the layers palette, but it's constantly disabled. How do I link layers in CS2?
i want to create about 3 shapes in the SAME layer so when i add effects to them they link perfectly ( it used to do this automatically) but now everytime i create a shape it forms a new layer and it wont link with the other shapes it just sits on top.
When changing the blending modes of a layer ( say to color burn or soemthing) does that blending mode effect all layers below the current layer or just the one immediately below? If its all then how can you set it so it only effects the one below?
I'm having a problem with a mailto: link in on one of the sites I'm designing. I'm sure its an easy fix but for the life of me can't figure out how to resolve it.
I have CS2 running on XP with a Wacom tablet. I need to copy select layers of several designs into a larger layout. I've tried to link and paste and I can't get multiple layers highlighted to link. As a work around, I've copied them and merged them and then copied and pasted the single layer -- overall not a pleasant solution.
I sliced my buttons and moved over to Image Ready, there I did the rollovers for each button and saved each page as html and images. When I previewed in browser only my home button would work, none of the others. I need the other pages to open up from the home page.
I am currently searching for a way to link a mid for a section, to a section cut on a plan. The plan and the section are in different CAD files. We are wanting to make it so we can change the number on the mids and it will update on the plan sheets.
I will be exporting my illustrator CS4 document as a pdf for on-line viewing. Rather than typing in the url, I would like to put in a word like WEBSITE - select the word and have it link to the site like this hyperlink doesPuting in the whole url in the document is too long and clutters the page layout
I am working with Illustrator files that have psd images placed in them. Each image has a shadow that is a separate image placed into illustrator on separate layer. So what I end up with is "image" layer and a "shadow" layer with their respective images in them. What I would like to do without having to group these is somehow linking images on separate layers so that when I move one the other moves as well.
I know that this isn`t a very logical way of managing these objects and if I could I would do it differently but it is a work method that is implemented and I have to abide to.
I just reconnected my harddive and opened this project to render it and now the files are not linking. I may have saved it while it was unlinking, would that prevent me from relinking the files now?
I'm really in trouble at work on linking Microsoft excel tables to Photoshop. I have some excel tables. I want to import them into Photoshop (not as an image) that when i changed the values in cells (excel) i want the Photoshop file to update.. Should i use a script or any programs?
I'm almost finished with a project, but like always at the end something has to go wrong.
So I'm trying to make this sort of portal (based on a videogame).
I got the portal like I want it to be, but when I link the Color Balance effect to the Portal layer (so that it only effects that layer) the color just disappears, leaving me with a white portal.
But it needs to be done, otherwise it effects my other layers to and turn everything red.
When I link layers this happens:
But if I don't, it of course turns everything red:
Well I had a day and a half trying to figure out how to bring Excel data into LT. Again. Here is what I have found out:
Running Excel 2010 I have a xls files (of type '97-2003 xls - file includes VBA). The file spits out a ton of data that I want to put in a schedule in AutoCAD. The schedule format needs to match our standard format - RomanS in white and blue.
If I copy and paste as a link the font remains stuck as Arial (regardless of source font) and can't be relaxed unless you go one cell at a time in the text editor. Also the resultant table size is tiny -
If I save the file to .XLSM (macro enabled '10 excel file) the results are the same. If I save the file to .XLSX ('10 excel file and ditch the VBA project) the results are sublime - the font is ok and I can go back and forth from AutoCAD to my now broken spreadsheet because VBA IS MISSING! The resultant table size is tiny but I can deal. I don't see how AutoCAD can work with xlsx but not xlsm.
I also found that if I save the sheet (values only) as a .csv file I can use that to create a table from file without font overrides screwing everything up.
I'm running AutoCAD LT 32bit on a Win7 32bit OS. My Office version is 2010. I would like to link data to a '97-'03 version of an xls or an xlsm without having the font overridden to Arial.
ACA 2011, 64bit.Trying to create fields that link to my aec project name, and number, and description. I'll use the AEC fields in my titleblock to make my titleblock management quite a bit easier.
If I open my template file and try to create a field that links to the AEC project "Project Name". It will come up as ####. I do not want to have a bunch of number signs in my titleblock. project number, and other fields show up as the same #######.
But if I create a new construct from the project navigator, open the new construct, and create a field that links to the AEC project "Project Name". It will come up as Project52. Autocad is now picking up the proper name, and number and everything works fine.
Shouldnt files that are opened in the old fashioned way be able to link to AEC fields? Or should I create & open all files from the project navigator from now on?
I am linking a model to an excel spreadsheet. Normally you would specify what cell on the first sheet (Sheet1) to start in. I have been told that you can link to other sheets in the workbook as well. Is this possible? I have tried, but have not been successful. If it is possible, how is it done?
I have to add an object to an exsisting image that has lets say 30-40 layers. In doing so, I have to move the entire image up or down, so I have to link all the layers to move it up or down. I can't merge the layers, because I have to use the same image several ways, so is there a quick way to "link all" layers, move, then "unlink all" layers in Photoshop 7?? I know that Select-All layers doesn't do the trick.
I work on a lot of files with 4-6 layers each, and then need to link them to create layer sets, to move them onto other files, where I combine the whole lot (we have a photographic studio, so it's for multiple images in wedding 'books' rather than separate photographs in albums).
I deal with hundreds of files a week, so I'm trying to automate it as far as possible. I've got most of it sorted, but I can't find any command or shortcut to link all of the layers. Is there one? For now, I've set up an action that links each individual layer and then creates the set, but that only works when I've got the same number of layers each time.
