3ds Max Modeling :: Move Gizmo Stuck At Origin?

I am having a problem with my create and move tools. It has just started happening that every time I create an object it automatically is created at the origin. I am unable to move any of the objects i am creating from this position. I can rotate them and scale them but just cant move them. I have checked everything i can think of, they aren't locked or on a locked layer. I converted them to an editable mesh and could move them like this but the gizmo remains stuck at the origin.

Probably something really simple, just never came across it before.

3ds Max Modeling :: Move Gizmo Locked To Center Box Handle

The move handles can be selected independently but when the snaps toggle is on the selection is locked to the center box handle. Rotate and scale gizmos are uneffected.

3ds Max :: Transform Gizmo Jumps To Origin During Sub-object Mode Edits?

In 3DS MAX 2011 my transform gizmo jumps to the origin every time I go into sub-object mode making it very difficult to edit. I have been through the help file looking for fixes without success. I have major deadlines to meet this week and this is severely hampering progress. How to reset the gizmo? When I pick an object the gizmo is in its proper location, it's only when I go to sub-object mode that it leaps away to the origin.

Maya Modeling :: Moving / Focusing Manipulator Gizmo?

I am wondering if it is possible to move/focus the manipulator gizmos in Maya.

If I for example am working on a tall plank and want to align the bottom part with something I'd zoom in to be more precise, but since the manipulator is stuck in the middle of the plank I have to zoom out anyway and find a spot where I'm fairly zoomed in but still can see the manipulator.. If there is a way to make the manipulator follow on the screen when i zoom in (without altering the pivot point) I'd be able to work so much easier.I am of course talking about all the manipulators (move, rotate and scale).

3ds Max :: Move The Grid / Origin Up / Down

I have imported a project from revit, I'd like to quickly add furniture to it. On the 1st floor everything is perfect. I just use the top ortho view to position them. The problems begins on other floors. I've tried user grids but they're extremely limited and didn't do the trick.

So, is there a way to 'move' the z0 without having to move the entire scene (move z up instead of moving the scene down)?

i can't move any object from the origin, every thing i create, create it self in the senter of the scene and i cant move and rotate, they just get stuck. i reinstall max 3 times this morning and the error continues... i dont know what else do...

AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Move Part To WCS Origin

I'm currently designing a frame for a geodesic dome. I have created a wireframe from an excel sheet (I calculated the vertices in a c# program) and added this to my 5-edges-corner part as derived part.

I used the wireframe to create the part that can be seen in the attached picture (basically its a 5 sided cylinder and i used layers which i generated from the wireframe to cut away the top bits).

Now because the wireframe has its origin in the WCS origin, the part isn't centered in the WCS. If I use the "move body" tool to move the part, the layer that creates the cut is not moved as well and the cuts disappear. Also the rotation is kinda messed up.

My first idea was to define a UCS and use that to replace the WCS but apparently, that's not possible in Inventor 2014.

I would like to know, whether there is a way to make the cuts permanent and independent of the layer (which is dependent on the wireframe which i want to delete anyways as soon the part is done). And what the best way would be to move the part to the WCS origin.

Photoshop :: Stuck In Move Mode - PS CS3 - Win XP...

Occasionally my PS gets stuck in Move Mode. Only the hand icon appears in the picture I'm attempting to edit. If I select another tool via the tool bar, or short cut, the tool bar on the top line changes appropriately, but the tool icon in the window remains the hand (move tool). The only way I have found to resolve is close PS and re-boot the PC.

Maya Modeling :: Move / Scale Entire Item - Objects Move Separately

So a friend created a model using zbrush and exported several different *.OBJ files. I imported those to maya and added shaders. They all fit correctly together when imported.

some of those obj files required me to do a mesh->combine. so now it appears that not every item has the same reference point so that when I move or scale the entire item, some of the objects move seperately. I think it is only the ones I had to combine.

I tried freeze transformations, but when doing that, some of the objects lost their scale settings and still didnt move together as one unit.

URL...how to move the origin of a part when you want a common origin for everything. in iv2012 you also get angles about axis, in greyed out boxes. 

In a test assembly I can get the offsetting to work, but not the rotations. The part I want to edit origin of is rotated in all three axis.

expanded origin,
selected mywork plan (xy)
drew rectangle,
input dims,
right click for marking menu,
selected dimensions,
Origin is yellow,

cannot select it and then edge of rect to set dim that will center sketch on origin? Just like the videos show, but cannot select origin>

I'm sure I have accidently set some mode that does this, but when I select a face and do a move function, the entire object moves instead of just that 1 face.

The entire object turns yellow when selected, or yellow/red depending on the size/shape.

Maya Modeling :: How To Move Pivot Point On Mac

We are just trying out Maya on the OSX Platform.
 
In the tutorial that we are going through, we are asked to select 2 curves, center the pivot point, and then hit the 'Insert' key to allow us to move the pivot point, and then holding down the 'C' key we should be able to move the pivot point along the curve.
 
Looking around we found that if you hit the 'fn + left arrow' keys you are meant to get the same as using the 'insert' key on the PC, but this is not right, and also when you try to hold down the 'C' key it does not allow the pivot point to be constrained to the curve.
 
So where is the 'Insert' key on the Mac?

I have read that this feature was removed(??) in 2011. How to do it in 2012?

Use Axis Constraints is ON in the Grid and Snap Settings but when i hoover over the vertex the snap goes away and a small circle shows up. When i click the vertex and drag it the axis constraints are turned off. I use the vertex snap all the time.

Maya Modeling :: Rotate Edge But Only Move Affected Vertices?

I am trying to model the following simple structure:

I made this example by creating a new polygonal cylinder, rotating the top edges that are to the right of the x-axis and repositioning the affected vertices afterwards, but doing it that way just doesnt feel right, it seems too unclean to me.

I would like the affected vertices to only move on a given axis when rotating the edges, so I dont need to reposition them after the rotate operation. I tried to illustrate what I mean in the following screenshot:

The edges I want to rotate are marked in red, the vertices that are supposed to only move on the y-axis are marked in green. The arrows indicate the desired movement.

Is this way of rotating an edge possible with the rotate tool or something?

Maya Modeling :: Move Camera To Z Axis - Z Handle Gets Selected

My rotate tool in maya seems to be "locked" i can't freely rotate whenever i left click hold the center and it only rotates where my viewport is looking at so if im at the X axis I can't rotate the Z axis. Tried setting my preferences to default and nothing. I've also set my rotate tool to default.
 
Whenever I move my camera say to the Z axis the Z handle gets selected and same when I move the camera to the X axis.
