Why for some reason or other, all my xar.files have changed to DP7's icon? I have hundreds of files and not being able to see a thumbnail of them is a nuisance. They were all showing just fine then when I switched on the next time, they had all changed to icons. I'm still running Windows Vista 32 bit, which I have never had a problem with, so how to get the thumbnails back?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI don't know what I pushed but suddenly my cursors have changed. My clone stamp now has a clone stamp icon instead of a circle and my spot healing tool has some tiny icon too instead of a circle.
What did I do to create this problem and how do I go about resetting it to what the cursors were? I'm using CS5 but then I had the same problem with CS3 too and never figured out how to fix it there either.
I'm sure it's something obvious, but I've checked the documentation, and cannot figure out how to get the Mask Icon on after selecting a .jpeg image. Tried doing "Window>Show Mask" as well, but "Show Mask is greyed out.

Sometimes the menu item for control bars is also greyed out had to close Xara just to access it again. how to control icon size other than at one point it says you can. The actual image it shows in the help files also have all the options for icon size greyed out.

All my PDF files have changed to CDR files, when exporting PDF it changes to CDR.

View 14 Replies View RelatedUsing PS3, all of a sudden when I use the file open all the directories come up in reverse. By that I mean the folders are at the bottom and the files are first. If I switch to use adobe dialog it shows correct, folders at top and files underneath.
I tried to reset prefs but that didn't work.
Used ACR to crop, straighten, adjust exposure, etc to a bunch of files. Used the File/Copy to command to extract images to new folder. To my surprise, the files were not cropped, straightened, etc in the destination folder. I know in ACR that "open image" will open the image in PS with all the changes but how can a bunch of files (including ACR changes) be copied to another folder?
Here is what I'm trying to do.
1. Let Bridge get jpg files from camera.
2. In Bridge, open files one by one in ACR, make adjustments (straighten, exposure, etc), and click "done" to save changes in same folder.
3. Once all files have been adjusted, copy files (tried using "copy to" in Bridge) to new destination folder.
4. Use PS batch command to run an Action to cropped photo to 600x900 (or 900x600) 72 pixels and sharpen photo. Do this for each source file and save to a new destination folder.
I'm okay with steps #1-2 but stuck on #3 as described above.
I exported my 90 minute clip for DVD last night - these were split as I am used to into a M2V file and a WAV file - I checked it and had a look last night. I then turned my computer off for the night and have awoken to one file which is a XMP file?I am now using CC so have the latest Adobe Premiere and haven't changed anything else that I am aware of.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed an annoying fact about PS CS6 that never happened in earlier CS versions: If I have a few files open at the same time, and I make a transformation in an image, then move on to antother image, maybe to edit something out of for the first one, when I return to the first image, the change I made is undone, and the image is back to where it was before the transformation. I haven't hit "undo" or any other command in hte interim-I just navigated to a different file and didn't touch the first one for a few minutes. Simply put: if I make a transformation such as rotating something or changing scale, then click on a different file, make changes there, then go back to the first file, it's as if I had never made the last transformation. I ddin't save the file, but why should I have to? I simply left it momentarily. It doesn't happen consistently, and it isn't a deal-breaker, but why does it happen at all? And how can I stop it?

With NEF files there are sliders for shadows, highlights and clipping but with DNG they are different - blacks, recovery, fill light. etc.. Why is this and is there a way to make the Basic tab the same for both (both like the NEF Basics tab)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDue to consolidating space on my hard drive I changed the location of the orginaly linked files (MXF footage). Having relinked in both Pr and Ae (CS6 latest updates as of posting date) to the new file location all looks good until I try to view the horizontally flipped clip in the sequence. If I look at the footage on Ae its all there, every frame. In the effects for the clip the opacity is as it should be -100%- but there is no image. I see the background footage (working with green screen foreground -hence the Ae project using Keylight plug-in). The non flipped footage from the exact same Ae file is as clear as day.

Most of my views have been crosed over by a red line in the Model browser window (se attachment) What does this red line meen?
Also, all the views with the red line have been set to Raster View Only. I can untick it without problems, but when I click OK and reopen the dialog the checkmark is back on.

I was trying to make an after effects icon on the dock ( I have a MacBook pro running mavericks )I have a subscription to the creative cloud - and have downloaded after effects CS6 . but....
Now when I try to open one of my After effects projects it says " Error message something about I need to uninstall the older version of after- effects and then it listed a preset ( blur) and when I close the window , there were approximately 30 similar windows with the same message , but a different preset,( blur this or that )
So like an idiot I went to my applications and dragged my after effects app icon to the trash ( there were two of them) and then emptied the trash- Now all my After effects files are greyed out with small green text that says "exec"
I cant open my AE(after effects) files, I went to the cloud to re-install it and it says it is alll updated , should I do a uninstall? How do I do that? can I do that and then re-install AE CS6?will adobe make me download the newer CC version?I don't want that version because all the computers at my school run CS6.

I am developing maps in Xara for use in an online program called Maptool. My current project is to vector a city built around a volcano so it has better detail than what it did in the original map. First off this is a very large map and I have to be able to zoom in use the standard scale of 5ft for use in Maptools (it is probably zoomed in to about 50ft for this).
1. What is the best format and settings to export a file so that when I zoom in real close (500% to 600% zoom) it doesn't look badly pixelated? I also want it to still have good visuals when I zoom it out to 15% to see the whole map (or most of it.
2. When I export the file as a PNG and open it in maptool to use it as a map some of the objects I placed on it in Xara have either moved slightly or changed size. I am not sure which yet but they look more re-sized than anything. Why and how do I stop this?
3.When I exported the map one time I noticed a building was missing from the original xara file. I went back to recreate it and it was still there, so I assumed I just didn't have it clicked when I exported it. That wasn't the case. The building shows up where I originally drew it but I can't edit or delete it. I can see it, but when I copy and paste or export it into another file the building isn't there.
4. Is it possible to change the units and size of the artboard after the project has been created and worked on for a few days? If so, how?
I tried to move my map project to a new file (after encountering the problem described in #3 above). The original settings were in pixels and is a very huge map. I set the new document in inches (or feet) but I couldn't make the artboard large enough to fit my project. I am not sure how to change from one measurement to another. When I did first save it in another file I could not edit the whole map as my limits are the new document size settings and my project is larger than those settings.
My current export settings are: True color + Alpha. I have removed all the transparency effects as they look horrible in the export so far.
Up until this morning I have been able to successfully import .eps files into Xara Pro Designer 6.
This morning, try as I might I am unable to open a new .eps file which has been sent to me.
All 'old' .eps files already on the system can be opened correctly. The artist sending me the files is not doing anything different at their end. I'm not doing anything different at my end.
To add to the confusion ... an .eps sent yesterday opened correctly. Today it does not and displays "Access violation exception at 0.09681E2C". I did 'tidy up' my folders so it's possible I may have messed up the directory for this one.
I am using xara xtreme 4, i always used it to import large A1 size pdf files to resize them with xara on A4 page. I am trying to import now a 50 mb pdf file, after asking me if i need to optimize for editing i click import, it shows that it is converting the document then it asks me if i need to merge or insert to a new page i click merge and finally nothing shows on my sheet, still empty!
is there a better way to resize that pdf file?
X1: I have no clue what I might have done to cause this, but all of a sudden when I copy/paste or import a graphic it comes in empty with red dash line around what would be the graphic plus the handles. The files are JPGs and PNGs. Any clues?
