View 14 Replies View RelatedUsing PS3, all of a sudden when I use the file open all the directories come up in reverse. By that I mean the folders are at the bottom and the files are first. If I switch to use adobe dialog it shows correct, folders at top and files underneath.
I tried to reset prefs but that didn't work.
Used ACR to crop, straighten, adjust exposure, etc to a bunch of files. Used the File/Copy to command to extract images to new folder. To my surprise, the files were not cropped, straightened, etc in the destination folder. I know in ACR that "open image" will open the image in PS with all the changes but how can a bunch of files (including ACR changes) be copied to another folder?
Here is what I'm trying to do.
1. Let Bridge get jpg files from camera.
2. In Bridge, open files one by one in ACR, make adjustments (straighten, exposure, etc), and click "done" to save changes in same folder.
3. Once all files have been adjusted, copy files (tried using "copy to" in Bridge) to new destination folder.
4. Use PS batch command to run an Action to cropped photo to 600x900 (or 900x600) 72 pixels and sharpen photo. Do this for each source file and save to a new destination folder.
I'm okay with steps #1-2 but stuck on #3 as described above.
I've noticed an annoying fact about PS CS6 that never happened in earlier CS versions: If I have a few files open at the same time, and I make a transformation in an image, then move on to antother image, maybe to edit something out of for the first one, when I return to the first image, the change I made is undone, and the image is back to where it was before the transformation. I haven't hit "undo" or any other command in hte interim-I just navigated to a different file and didn't touch the first one for a few minutes. Simply put: if I make a transformation such as rotating something or changing scale, then click on a different file, make changes there, then go back to the first file, it's as if I had never made the last transformation. I ddin't save the file, but why should I have to? I simply left it momentarily. It doesn't happen consistently, and it isn't a deal-breaker, but why does it happen at all? And how can I stop it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhy for some reason or other, all my xar.files have changed to DP7's icon? I have hundreds of files and not being able to see a thumbnail of them is a nuisance. They were all showing just fine then when I switched on the next time, they had all changed to icons. I'm still running Windows Vista 32 bit, which I have never had a problem with, so how to get the thumbnails back?

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen I open DNG files in the Develop Module, the basic tab is different than when I develop RAW/NEF files? With NEF files there are sliders for shadows, highlights and clipping but with DNG they are different - blacks, recovery, fill light. etc.. Why is this and is there a way to make the Basic tab the same for both (both like the NEF Basics tab)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDue to consolidating space on my hard drive I changed the location of the orginaly linked files (MXF footage). Having relinked in both Pr and Ae (CS6 latest updates as of posting date) to the new file location all looks good until I try to view the horizontally flipped clip in the sequence. If I look at the footage on Ae its all there, every frame. In the effects for the clip the opacity is as it should be -100%- but there is no image. I see the background footage (working with green screen foreground -hence the Ae project using Keylight plug-in). The non flipped footage from the exact same Ae file is as clear as day.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop CS5 and under, the smudge tool at 100% Strength would drag pixels without smudging/blurring/mixing, creating this cool painting effect. Customizing the smudge tool with a bit of a textured brush shape and some scattering, with 100% smudging Strength would create this amazing painterly effect, but now in Photoshop CS6 the 100% strength does not work. In fact, it works much worse than 99%.
As you can see, at 99% strength, the smudge does less blurring, and more dragging, which is almost as close as Photoshop CS5's 100% smudging strength( it hardly ever blurred or mixed, 100% would only drag in CS5)100% on CS6 does considerably worse dragging, and alot of blurring, and seems to only be a step above 90%, which blurs and mixes more.
I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if this was an intentional edit to the smudging tool. The smudging tool in the past was completely fine, and now I can't use my smudging tool presets because they do not create the same effects they did when I created them back in CS5.

Below is a picture of what it has changed to. I used to have the default one with White top left Black Bottom Left and the certain colour top right.
I cant get used to this one!
I've set up a customized color space, named it and saved it. The one pref I always change is that I work in Adobe 1998. So I'll be working in PS and then see that when I go to save an image, the box checked at the bottom of the Open/Save dialog is sRGB. I go the the color space dialog and low and behold it says North American General Purpose. How did it get switched?

Is there a way to toggle between the old and new windows for Workflow Options. I noticed that this change is not on all computers with the newest version of CS6. Some have the old window and some the new one.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy C Drive boot sector recently failed due to motherboard problems, causing me to have to install another hard drive to have an operating system to run. I am still using my old hard drive for data, only now it is renamed as my F drive. When I try to run PSCS2 off my F drive I get the message "Your Adobe Photoshop user name, organization, or serial number is missing or invalid. The application cannot continue and must now exit." Adobe's website says I need to reinstall PS, BUT I cannot find my install disks! I have a legal copy of CS2 and I cannot find it after scouring the house and it's nooks and crannies. Does anyone know if there is a data or text file that I could go into behind the scenes to tell PS to point to the F drive instead of the C Drive? I did this for my Quickbooks software, but can't figure out if PS has such a capability.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having a strange color issue with Photoshop CS3 (and Illustrator CS3). I'll make a design or drawing in Photoshop or Illustrator, then save it as a jpg to email it off to my client for previewing using gmail. In the gmail preview, the colors are completely off (for example, a yellow lemon will appear bright turquoise) and when I "view" the jpg in the web browser on mine or any other computer (mac and pc), the colors are sort-of neonized versions of the original colors. However, if I download the file and open it, the colors appear correct.

But where is this from? It says its from Adobe InDesign.
But I dont have In Design!
I have checked Adobe Bridge but there is no printing and colour part in there.
Anyone seen this in photoshop before?
I have just opened up Photoshop CS2 and the default layer background colour has changed!! How I do not know. It seems the white colour has disappeared and been replaced by a cream colour. Even if I select #FFFFFF for white, it stil only gives the cream options. Even clicking the little black and white squares in the tools window, just corrects to this cream colour.

Changing a file association is a simple matter you either do it in Windows Explorer in the properties or just use the edit in command in bridge.Except that neither is working.
Photoshop CS6 is not even showing up as an option in either Explorer or in Bridge but it is ironically working in Lightroom.I know how to change file associations.
Why have colors in my merged image changed? I am running Photoshop CS4 on Windows 7 and I'm viewing 3-channel RGB images. Something has changed and the blue channel doesn't appear in the image and the green channel is now blue. Everything looks perfect according to the thumbnails in the channel window. But when I looked at the merged image in the central view, again, blue is gone and green is now blue.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently working on a vector in the trial version of Photoshop CS6 that I acquired this Friday(?), and I'm running into a troublesome dilemma every time I re-open the file to work on at a later date. I find that some layers -- not all, but maybe five or six -- have changed their color to whichever color is in my palette, or whatever was in my palette the last time I opened Photoshop.
Is there a setting I'm missing, or is this a current glitch in this version of CS6? And in case you're wondering, yes, I have tried saving with all shape layers locked before I close; it made no difference.
Do you want to save it anyway?I'm starting to get this message again a lot. It went away for awhile, and is now back.It started with CS5.
I think Adobe blames it on other software but cannot pinpoint it?
