I think Adobe blames it on other software but cannot pinpoint it?
The following message appears when attempting to install the trial version of PSE12 onto an iMac.."The following disk images could not be opened - Photoshop Elements_12_WWEFDJ.dmg error -4960"...The installer then hangs with the install extractor and does not respond.
View 8 Replies View RelatedUsed ACR to crop, straighten, adjust exposure, etc to a bunch of files. Used the File/Copy to command to extract images to new folder. To my surprise, the files were not cropped, straightened, etc in the destination folder. I know in ACR that "open image" will open the image in PS with all the changes but how can a bunch of files (including ACR changes) be copied to another folder?
Here is what I'm trying to do.
1. Let Bridge get jpg files from camera.
2. In Bridge, open files one by one in ACR, make adjustments (straighten, exposure, etc), and click "done" to save changes in same folder.
3. Once all files have been adjusted, copy files (tried using "copy to" in Bridge) to new destination folder.
4. Use PS batch command to run an Action to cropped photo to 600x900 (or 900x600) 72 pixels and sharpen photo. Do this for each source file and save to a new destination folder.
I'm okay with steps #1-2 but stuck on #3 as described above.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have copied the contents of an intermitant disk into a new one; outside of ligthroom(4). How do I copy the edits embeded into a ligthroom catalog to the new disk? Both disks have the same files. My master catalog sees the edits in the original disk. This same catalog sees the new disk without the edits in the original disk.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWindows 7, had everything working fine. Added SSD and installed system from scratch on SSD. Old drive is now my second drive.
Trying to put the scratch disk on the second (old) drive to reduce wear on the SSD. But every time I do, I get the disk error message and it erases all my settings (so annoying!)
I figure it's a permissions thing since I've had to deal with that already to some degree, but I don't know how to fix it since I don't know where adobe is trying to save the scratch file.

So did Autodesk use some copy protection or did the install disk get so big it must go on a DVD-DL?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a keyboard shortcut for Copy (see directly below). This command doesn't copy multiple. But if I type "Copy" at the comment prompt (AutoCAD 2013) the copy multiple is the default. Copymode is already set to "0".

When the 'up' arrow appears in a thumbnail and comes up with the message:
The metadata for one or more of these photos has been changed by another application. Should Lightroom import settings from disk or overwrite disk settings with those from the catalog?
What exactly does that mean? This seems to happen every time I export an image to PS (CS5) and return to LR. What exactly has changed? What settings are being imported if I choose 'import settings from disk'.

View 5 Replies View RelatedFor this example let's take in account that I have 2 identical in every aspect copies (meaning size and content at this point) of the very same image.
1st remains unedited,
2nd is edited only as far as concerning the image > adjustments menu through changing mostly channel mixer, selective color, saturation etc values and had an object attached to it atop of the original depiction before being edited as a whole.
What I want to do is to edit the 1st image, compare in some certain ways the colors of it I guess with the ones of the 2nd, match for instance where color hex value X (and horizontal/vertical X,Y coords - is it needed in order to be more precise and avoid mistakes?) (I guess again) from the 1st image is edited into color (or even additional settings atop of that?) hex value Z, do that automatically for all the combinations and immediately apply the same changes I applied from 2nd pic when unedited (and looked exactly like 1st pic) to the very same 2nd pic in start, TO the 1st pic in the present case. Also in order to do this "color matching" before applied or not I need to set out-seperate the area where I have added an additional object in the 2nd picture and fill it possibly with the original content from the 1st(can it be done in one move) in order for the process to be complete?
That means I turned the 2nd image into a combination of blue-green-red colour (and other) from orange-yellow-cyan (just an example) I want to do the very same to my 1st pic which is orange-yellow-cyan etc.
I'm upgrading to a Zenbook which has no optical drive so I won't be able to install PS via the disk that I purchased a couple years ago. Would the key from my hard copy work with a downloaded copy of PS?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new Toshiba Satellite P855-335 laptop running Windows 8 with a Nvidia GeForce GT 640M video card, but I am only able to open my photos when I disable the Graphics Processor from within CS6 Preferences. When the check is active,
I see a black screen and the photo is shown only in the Navigator. Is really anoying to have a useles yet powerful video card for my photo editing. My guess is that I am still able to work with my photos because the integrated intel HDGraphics400 video card jumps in when I disable the GPU within photoshop.
What I have done so far:
1.- Updated to the latest driver for my set up. I went to Toshiba website and latest driver was already active. Version 305.46 dated July 2012
2.- I called Nvidia and tried unsuccesfully to install a newer driver (310.90) because is not compatible with my card, they also suggested to install an older driver 304.709 but the operating system just did not want to update to an older driver
3.- I went to Photoshop and followed instructions and none seemed to work:
3.1. made sure I had latest version of Photoshop CS6 Extended version 13.0.1 x64
3.2.- Set GPU settings to basic
3.3. Reset preferences (Crt+shift+alt) while starting photoshop
3.4. Checked Cache levels to 4
Maybe the biggest and unacceptable issue is that the reported NIvidia cards tested with Photosho CS6 doesnt include the 600 Series. It is quite annoying because all the other series are reported: nVidia GeForce 8000, 9000, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 series

When I open photoshop, the workspace won't appear. It's layers show up on the layer menu, but the image and workspace are no where to be found. Entering full screen mode freezes. If i open photoshop and delete my settings, it fixes everything, but i am getting tired of setting all my settings back up every time i do this.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded Adobe Design and Web Premium CS6. I am not able to see the content of any of the file I open (.psd or .jpg). I do see the file has been opened as the file name appears on the open file tabs, I also see the preview of the file in the Navigator Window and list of layers in the layers window.
I am relatively new to this so might be missing on some option that needs to be turned on or something. I am using Window 7 Professional, Service Pack 1, with 8GB RAM.
What happens to a camera raw image when it is opened in Photoshop? I have PS12 and receive raw images from our photographer and I'd like to know what type of manipulation, if any, occurs to an image as it is being read into Photoshop.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen i look at my photos in Ulead Instant Viewer or Breeze Browser Pro they look similar to what they did on the back of my camera.But when i view them in my newly purchased CS6 the saturation is increased by around 25 to 30 units.When i scanned some 35mm colour negatives and viewed them in photoshop they had exactly the same saturation as when viewed in Ulead Instant Viewer and Breeze Browser Pro.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I have opened a RAW image in PS5.5 and it has several layers already modifying the file, can I convert the bottom layer to a smart object and then use ACR tools like de-fringing, etc.? I notice flaws in the image that would be corrected that way, and I don't want to start from scratch. I am able to make the layer a smart object. I don't know how to invoke the ACR tools.
This image arrived from Lightroom with "no Lightroom effects" chosen at transfer, if that makes any difference.
When someone opens a file on our server just to look at the image and then closes it without making any edits and does not save, the file has a new modification date and act like it was saved. How can I keep this from happening?

Anytime I open a jpg in CS4 it brings up camera raw. In Cs3, there was an option in file handling called "prefer adobe camera raw for jpeg" I cannot find its equivalent in CS4. I also did uncheck "always open jpeg files with settings using camera raw".

I am using CS4 PhotoShop and Bridge.
Photoshop gets really slow when any image, regardless of size is open. When there are no images open it runs smoothly. The interface gets really laggy, filter usage, tool selection or any other usage is really sluggish, but only with an image open, even if it's a single pixel.
I've tried different performance settings - changing where the scatch drive is, how much memory to allocate, what the cache levels are set at, enabling/disabling openGL, etc. It makes no difference if it's after a fresh reboot or if it's been on for days. No software has changed since the upgrade. Memory test don't show any issues and no other application has this problem - Illustrator, After Effects, Maya, Mudbox, etc. are all fine.
My system specs
Windows 7 x64 Enterprise - Service pack 1 installed
Dual Xeon quadcore E5620 @ 2.4GHx (sixteen threads w/hyperthreading)
96 GB Ram - DDR3 - 1333 MHz / PC3-10600 - registered - ECC

I'd think it would be a memory issue if all apps had similar problems, or if PS had issues when just being open. It's odd that it happens only when an image is open.
I recently upgraded to a new computer and I am experiencing strange black bands blotches when opening many of my old Photoshop files or even when opening common files types (jpg/png). The problem doesn't occur with all file, some open just fine. The distortion only appears within Photoshop,
when I try to save the file for display everything looks fine as long as I don’t open the saved file in Photoshop. I feel like I’m missing something basic but I’ve used PS for years and never encountered this. All of my profile settings are exactly the same as they were on the old computer (basically default) so I don’t think there is a mismatch.
