When I loaded some photo actions into my new PSE11 it show only a generic icon in the effects palette, not the icon from the maker so it takes extra time to search for the action I need. How can I get the icon from the maker to show as the icon in the palette?

View 3 Replies View RelatedExporting my photo’s from iPhoto to the desk top and then importing to Photoshop Organizer 11, ALL photo’s show “Missing File” icon (?) in the top left corner when I eliminate photo’s from iPhoto. Why do I have to keep photo’s in iPhoto? Is there a workaround?
If I import iPhoto photo’s directly within Organizer I loose photo information.
I have downloaded an action (*.ATN) file from a trusted source and saved it in the Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS5/Presets/Actions folder. When I explore this folder via windows it shows the action I saved plus the default actions that came with Photoshop. When I click on "load actions" from the actions pallete I get a message that says the same folder is empty. Under file type it is looking for the correct file type (*.ATN).

For a large project our organization is busy with, we are going to need to work with several sizes of icons, and the icons' names will need to be generated programatically by the back-end of our our system.
The icons are going to be in these sizes:
512 x 512256 x 256128 x 12864 x 6432 x 3224 x 2416 x 16
I want to create a resize action will generate icons in the proper size with unique names.
For example:
images/icon-512-size-king.png
images/icon-256-size-king.png
images/icon-128-size-king.png
images/icon-64-size-king.png
images/icon-32-size-king.png
images/icon-24-size-king.png
images/icon-16-size-king.png
The resizing part is simple - it's the naming that I'm not sure about!

this is how i usually duplicate a layer, by dragging and dropping to the new layer icon at the bottom of the palette. it is not letting me do that.
also, when i select a a single, or group of layers and move them around in the palette, i thought it used.

However, whenever I attempt to open Photoshop, nothing happens. My OS is Windows 7; I click the icon onmy taskbar, and the cursor shows that it is loading, the icon is highlighted, but then the loading symbol stops and the icon highlight disappears. When I attempt to open a file using PSE, the loading banner appears, but shortly thereafter, I receive an alert saying "Photoshop Elements 12 Editorhas stopped working" and under it, it says "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available" and the only available option it "Close program." I had this exact issue with PSE 7, and figured that purchasing an updated version might fix this problem. Evidently, I was mistaken. This is a very serious issue, as I am a graphic designer (creating logos, posters, programs, etc) and use Photoshop for this purpose. I have been using Elements for years, but only recently has this problem arisen. This is, of course, infuriating, as I have paid $70 for a program that doesn't even work.

I have no trouble making a selection, but I'm embarassed to say that I don't know what to do after that. I've tried adjusting the hue/saturation, but important detail is lost, and (for example) if I was trying to make the image #ff0000 red, it wouldn't really be true in color with a hue/saturation adjustment. I know this image is not the best quality, but something tells me that I need to make and selection, then create a new layer.. but as a newbie I'm stumped. Oh, that is - a newbie still using Elements 8.

I updated to Elements 11 and still had the same problem. I followed some direction I found online for eliminating the catague cache, and it fixed the problem in 11, but not in 7. It is possible to place photos etc between clips by dragging to icon.
This is is Sceneview & I take it that Quick in Elements 7 is similar.
There are no such icons in Elements 11 and all atempts to get photos places these at end and then these have to be moved.
