Photoshop :: Using Actions / Scripts To Generate Various Icon Sizes With Unique Names

For a large project our organization is busy with, we are going to need to work with several sizes of icons, and the icons' names will need to be generated programatically by the back-end of our our system.

The icons are going to be in these sizes:

512 x 512256 x 256128 x 12864 x 6432 x 3224 x 2416 x 16

I want to create a resize action will generate icons in the proper size with unique names.

For example:

images/icon-512-size-king.png
images/icon-256-size-king.png
images/icon-128-size-king.png
images/icon-64-size-king.png
images/icon-32-size-king.png
images/icon-24-size-king.png
images/icon-16-size-king.png

The resizing part is simple - it's the naming that I'm not sure about!

When I loaded some photo actions into my new PSE11 it show only a generic icon in the effects palette, not the icon from the maker so it takes extra time to search for the action I need. How can I get the icon from the maker to show as the icon in the palette?

I have created a frame using the frame creator with all the individual members listed in the frature manager. When I check this into the vault it goes in fine.
When I create a second frame (seperate frame file) it uses one or two of the same fram types as the first frame. The problem comes when I go to check this into the vault it says the member already exists.
I have been told and I am seeing it that the frame creator always starts with "001" and numbers downward in creating the member names. This creates a problem in the vault because of the duplicate file factor.
What I ended up doing was calling up that particular member and doing a file save as then replacing it in the assembly. Then it would check in fine.
Is this the only work around or is there a setting somewhere that allows unique names for these frame members.

I'm using Photoshop and the Fit Image command to resize my images for a slide show program. The slide show software does not offer the ability to place the image number anywhere on the image. Is there someway to write an action in Photoshop that will grab the image name and place it where I designate on the image? Even stretching the canvas and filling with black and placing the name there would work. I'm not sure if this is possible or if I need to find an Apple Script to do this.

We are using iPart - iAssembly workflow with Inv-2013 and Vault Basic 2013
My question is related to released state of iparts. Currently we are generating/ releasing
all the iparts when new member is added in order to manintain the parent child version relationship
Example : say i have a ipart 41020.ipt and i have members 41020- 001 ~ 008 . I check out the parent
from Vault and add 009 member to it.
Question :
Do I have to generate all and check those in to maintain the version relationship between the child and parent inside
Vault 2013 ?

Only generating 009 will maintain version relationship inside Vault 2013

I'm in the process of creating 3D points (as an overlay) on some laser scanned data (using RiScan, it's just 3d dimensional data, with a northing, easting and RL) and unfortunately the only export option is to export to .dxf... Which is fine but when I export, the information has the point ID as the layer name.
I am aiming at getting this data into another program to analyse and it needs the point ID or name to be my annotation, as opposed to the layer.
So what I need is a way of converting the names of each individual points layer, to the point ID.

I downloaded a couple of actions from the web to my actions palette and they worked fine, but then I got greedy and downloaded a few more and that’s when things went south. Now none of the actions work - by not working I mean when I mouse over the Play Selection icon at the bottom of the action palette I get that little circle with a line through it. This happens with the PS default actions as well (I also get the circle on the Stop Playing/Recording and Begin Recording icons).
Somewhere in the following is probably what messed things up.
I downloaded actions to my computer in zip files. Copied them over to the actions folder (or somewhere) and unzipped them. I went back to the actions palette and hit “load actions” and loaded them. On the second set of actions that I downloaded I remember thinking “why am I copying and pasting these files - I bet I should cut and paste them, so I did and that may have been the start of the great crumble of 2004. PhotoShop help says: (under Saving and loading actions) “Actions are automatically saved the the Actions Palette folder in PS7.0 Settings folder. If this file is lost or removed, the actions you created are lost”.
I have searched for the settings folder and couldn’t find it, but the actions still show up on the actions palette - they just don’t run.
I’m a little fuzzy on the details on the above steps. In fact, I probably did something different on each download.
one more thing, I reloaded PhotoShop, but still nothing.

My computer crashed and I removed all apps and reinstalled so now none of my actions appear. However I do have a backup file of all of them and want to reinstall but before when I was using cs6 ( Im assuming same thing as CC as it was all on the subscription plan ) I would click actions then the right arrows and it would bring me a big screen of all the actions ( even the ones that were just preloaded in ps ) and it was a big box with all the actions and some options to record etc...Now that box isn't there and it's just a single column drop down menu.

I accidentally included a file rename when I just imported a batch of several hundred pictures. I violated a rule that I teach my own Lightroom students, and that is to look carefully at the import panel choices before proceeding.

How can I correct this so that the files are named as they originally were? I know how to easily fix the filenames in Windows (using a tool called BulkRename, for example), but then I'd have to "find" each image one-by-one and correctly point to the renamed version. I tried selecting all the images and then using F2 to rename, but none of the templates allow deleting a portion of the filename.

i've got a photo with a unique human skin and texture, i think this is a manipulation of a photo by photoshop. i can't understand, what is the most significant differences between this photo and the original photo.( sorry, i don't have the original image..i'm just imaging a general digital photo ).and i think this is not similar to Dragan style, because the skin looks wraped and painted..

I like to put my actions somewhere special on my hardrive, not in apps folder.
Now, in past, when I saved actions CS2 would "remember" where this folder was, making real easy to save.
Lately, it keep defaulting to save as in the app folder-- even though I did navigate to my special area on last save as.

I've used Photoshop 5 for 14+ years now and was forced to switch to Photoshop Elements 11 when we installed new computers at work recently. It seems to be missing an important tool (for me) that I can't seem to find. I don't know the official name but I called it a "vector" tool. You could draw custom curved and straight lines between set points to create a unique shape. Does it exist or is there a newer way to do the same task?

how I would be able to get a unique ID of a block?
Currently I tried all the properties of a block table record that resemble anything to do with an ID like btr.objectID and btr.ID although copies of blocks have the same ID as the original and the copies contain different attribute values so I wish to access the copies by just feeding in one ID (that I have grabbed from every block in the drawing and put into an array).
Is there a number that is unique to every individual block is essentially what I'm asking, and if so, how do I access it?

I want to know an easy way to do the following:
Suppose I have some groups and I want to make some of them unique. But I don't want them to be unique among them, I want them to be instances of each other so when I modify one they all change, but of course, not the original groups.
It's not easy to explain, but allow me to try... I have 5 lamps, they are instances so when I change one the others change also, now let's say I want to make 2 of them unique, but I want them to be 'linked', so when I change one of these 2, the other gets affected also, but not the other 3 of course.
So, what's the best way to do that?

I seem to be having many, many problems in Maya 2012.Simple things like opening the plugin manager window, changing the camera, opening hypershade, and assigning materials seem torefuse to work, and give me errors such as
// Error: initializePlugin function failed (stereoCamera)
and

Error: Object's name 'PluginRowColLyt1' is not unique
This is a clean install of Maya 2012 on Windows 7 64-bit, with no previous versions having ever been installed on here.
I've tried reinstalling it multiple times, and the issues still persist. I've also tried reinstalling Python multiple times.

I am trying to make a unique roof but I have had many failed attempts for hours now. Attached is a photo of the roof overhang I am trying to mimic and a crappy sketch showing the same thing. The roof has a normal gable on one end, but on the other. I need the over hand to go out three feet, then into a point at six feet at the same slope as the entire roof. NOT a hip roof which seems to be the only they I can make it. I even tried making a separate roof piece and it still didnt work.

This is the scenario.

I select a text in the doc, then run a command.
The command provides a unique id for the selected text range.
I use that id (may be at later point of time, may be after close/reopen of file) and run another command that selects that range using id and performs some operations.

Is textrange associated with a unique id? (I am guessing yes, atleast internally) How do I get this id? Will this id be consistent accross sessions? (even if I close and open the file does it remain same)

I cannot seem to paste into this one drawing that a client has issued to me. I can paste into all associated x-refs just fine, but the main drawing is the issue. Before we get into things I have tried all the most common things already.
- Â I have checked layeer Visibilties and unreconciled layers.
- I have run audit and have purged/scalelistedit all drawings
- I have done almost everything ><
To sum it up I think it is global variable of some sort.

I have multiple cylinders of increasing radius surrounding each over i.e first cylinder radius 0-5mm, 2nd 5-10m etc. (attached: cylinders.jpg). For the operand I'm using a solid cude - hollowed out in a particular shape i.e. using it like you would a physical mold.
Using ProBoolean Subtract I can successfully subtract the operand from one cylinder at a time, but not all the cylinders at once. I have up to 20 cylinders so it takes sometime to do individually (attached: subtract result).
If i 'Proboolean Merge' the cyclinders they become the one geometry and each cylinder looses its individual material.
How can I merge the cylinders such that I can perform the subtraction on them all in one go but they retain thier materials?

When one edits a block all instances of the block are changed. What is the command in AC to make one instance of the block unique, so editing will not affect the instances? In Sketchup it is "make unique".
