I keep getting the broken picture icon when I try to perform various procedures, such as resizing, sharpening, adjusting contrast and brightness, or desaturated or changing to black and white. Sometimes it happens with one thing, sometimes, another.

In PSE 9 when I "sometimes" save a picture, I get a broken picture symbol. I have gone to file/reconnect and this does not work. I can't figure out what I'm doing different when this happens, as it only happens now and then.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've just started organizing my photos by adding albums and keyword tags. I add the album to all the pictures and get a green album icon on the thumnail. Then for most of the images when I add a tag the album icon is gone and is replaced by a beige tag icon. But for some of the images, when I add the tag I get separate green album and blue tag icons. Why do i get different icon combinations depending on the image?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been using Elements 7 with great satification for several years now, but recently, the picture thumbnails started to show up as an hourglass icon. I updated to Elements 11 and still had the same problem. I followed some direction I found online for eliminating the catague cache, and it fixed the problem in 11, but not in 7. Till I learn to use 11, I would like to continue to use 7, so how do I fix this problem in Elements 7?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased PE 11 and after installing it would not display the photo thumbnails in Organizer. Instead it only displays the broken thumbnail icon. Why is Elements presenting broken thumbnails for all of my photos and how do I fix this? Not sure if this matters but the only other Adobe product I had installed prior was Lightroom 3.6 (reaching for anything here but perhaps catalog incompatability??).

Sound is blank unless you start the preview from the very first slide, w hich is annoying for large slide shows where you need to time the music. I couldn't get preview to work at all (showing black photos until I set Run as Administrator in the .exe properties. Never had to do these things with PE 9 or 10.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFollowing a Backup and Restore process to move from PSE 11 on Windows 7 to PSE 11 on Mac (Mt. Lion) I have broken links. Other catalog info is intact (file name, captions, tags, etc.). I moved 6 catalogs...only 1 was successful.
Background: I started with PSE 10 on Windows 7...installed PSE 11 and converted all catalogs successfully. Used File, Back Up (Full) process with an external drive to move the files and catalogs to PSE 11 on the Mac (10.8) using File, Restore Catalogs. I suspect that the issue may be in the portion of the Restore process that allows the choice between Original Location or New Location...seems like I tried both. The Adobe instructions in the PSE 11 offered step-by-step instructions but didn't elaborate much on the Location issue. I tried File, Reconnect, Reconnect All Files without success.
I need to crop image width from e.g. 1234px to 1230px. I select Crop from the menu, then enter 1230px for the width. PE then shows a marquee that is bigger than the image! I'm probably doing something wrong, but I can't tell what.
I'm running it on WIndows 8.0 x64, which has some other problems, so maybe I should just upgrade to 12?
I'm using PSE10 on a Win7 (64bit) OS. When I delete a picture (from catalogue and harddrive) the PSE-Organizer tends to jump down several pictures (Haven't been able to determine a fixed number), so I have to go up again and browse through the same pics a couple of times.
