The Organizer thumbnails is showing broken images for some pictures, but when I look at the pictures using Windows Explorer or any other photo editing program, they are fine. I've already tried right-clicking the image and clicking "Update Thumbnail". How can I fix the thumbnails?

I am using PSE 9. I go to organizer, open a photo to edit, go to edit, edit photo, then close photo. Then I go back to organizer and photo. The photo is replaced with what looks like a "cracked" file. Is there a way to finish your edit or finalize it or something?
View 33 Replies View RelatedI am trying to import some jpg files into organiser from a windows folders. What turns up in organiser is a thumbnail (there is no image) for each photo. Properties indicate that it is the correct jpg. I can open the file in Elements. There is something about the files that is causing the problem. Moving the file to another folder makes no difference.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been learning elements 9 and when i save an edit lots of times the organizer shows it as a torn or broken photo. When i bring it back into full edit, the picture is there but sometime i get the wrong one as i can not see the photo.
The save or save as did not automaicly put in the suffix. Added that and it showed up. Maybe some one more advanced than i can collaborate that finding.
How do I save a thumbnail image in the project bin without it disappearing when I close it?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using an iMac with up to date software. I import photos from my SD card. It creates a file in "my folders" but image does not appear in organizer window. I have tried restarting the computer as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the application.
The only files that appear under "Media" are the music files. There are 8 other pre-installed folders (animals, flowers, holidays,etc) but highlighting them does nothing.
I have PSE 8, PS Premier 8 and LR 4 insta;lled and haven't had any problems with them. Yesterday I tried to open PSE 8 and received a 'Bad Image' message that stated
"C:Program Files (x86)AdobeElements Organizer 8.0amtlib.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.'
However, I went to My Pictures, selected a file that I had edited in PSE 8 a few weks ago, right clicked on Open With PSE 8 Editor and there it was. When I right clicked on Open With PSE 8 Organizer, I got the same error message as shown above. I also tried openiong Organmizer through Editor ald also got the same error shown above.
How do I resolve this? I'm running WIN 7 Pro, DELL XPS 8300.
When I move a photo from the ORGANIZER to EDITING (in Elements 10) the image looks different (color, contrast etc.) This has stopped me from ubgrading at this stage.

I previously imported hundreds of JPEG files and those thumbnails were always visible. My organizing has been brought to a standstill.
The Organizer and the Editor stopped working together in just 1 of my catalogs. It happens to be the catalog in which I have done the most image manipulations such as renaming, stacking, albums, rating, etc. Now, when I select a photo in Organizer and click on Fix, Edit, the Editor window comes up but the photo does not appear in Editor. The only way I can get an image into Editor is to pull it directly into Editor. Then, when I want to save it as a Version Set I have to choose File> Organize Open File in order to save the image as a version set. Other than deleting and re-creating the catalog, how can I get Editor to open the image from Organizer like it used to do?

I removed PSPX4 where the organizer worked properly. I cannot find a setting to disable or activate a file extension other than in the Preferences, where there is no mention of a video format.

By the way, Elements 9 is so defective, it will not even let me back up my organizer in 9. The 9 organizer would let me select a photo, bring it into the editor, print it and then it would crash... then I had to start all over again... the darn thing crashes as it was prone to problems that adobe ignored. It always finds them, frequently the same, imports them and then tells me they're already in the Organizer. During this process, which may last 5-15 minutes, I can't use the program.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from CS5 to CS6 and when I save a file, in any format, I get no image icon thumbnail for the saved file. If I save the same file in CS5, I get the thumbnail image icon, but with severe pixelation of the thumbnail image. It used to be I would have to periodically reboot the finder or fix permissions to resolve the latter issue, but now even that doesn't work. I'm running Mac OS 10.8.
View 2 Replies View RelatedA rather important piece of digital art from has gone missing, but as it's a couple years old it's unlikely to still be sitting somewhere in the hard drive's free memory. However, I did find an 'Adobe Photoshop file browser metadata cache file' and an 'Adobe Photoshop file browser thumbnail cache file' that have names similar to the original piece of art.
However, can't see a way of opening them. Photoshop tells me it's 'not the right kind of document', and I don't know what other application to use.
So, I ask of you all, do I have any hope of recovering the image?
In PSE 9 when I "sometimes" save a picture, I get a broken picture symbol. I have gone to file/reconnect and this does not work. I can't figure out what I'm doing different when this happens, as it only happens now and then.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased PE 11 and after installing it would not display the photo thumbnails in Organizer. Instead it only displays the broken thumbnail icon. Why is Elements presenting broken thumbnails for all of my photos and how do I fix this? Not sure if this matters but the only other Adobe product I had installed prior was Lightroom 3.6 (reaching for anything here but perhaps catalog incompatability??).
