The organizer in my PSPX5 U only shows video files, AVI, MOV, etc. I will not display JPG or other still image formats. I also have VideoStudio X5 U installed. I removed PSPX4 where the organizer worked properly. I cannot find a setting to disable or activate a file extension other than in the Preferences, where there is no mention of a video format.
View 2 RepliesI am finding some difficulties to deal with vector files in PSP.
a) When reading=> I saved several .SVG files from Inkscape software and PSP isn’t able to open the files (I could open them through GIMP). The “SVG import” dialog box opens in PSP, but when I click in “ok” a message mentions “this is not a valid SVG file”. What could be happening? What is the better/compatible vector file format that PSP is able to handle?
b) When writing=> I created a vector logo with text and drop shadow in layer style. I would like to send it to other people that don’t have PSP. So, is there any vector file format which PSP is able to write/save? I tried to save it in .WMF and .EMF, but the output isn’t good (the definition isn’t good, the shadow doesn't appear, when I insert the logo in Word the text character changed to japonese character).
I followed the hint of PSP X4 to search the "List of supported RAW formats" on the Corel website. I only find a list for PSP X3 and in this list my camera (a Panasonic Lumix GH-2) isn't listed. Is there any newer list of supported RAW-formats / camera-types and if not, is the GH-2 supported and is there any lens specific correction data in X4 to auto correct the raw files?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy latest problem is file formats! I have two cameras, one of which produces .AVI video format. I have found that Corel does not "read" this format - or am I wrong? I am working from a card reader. I have succeeded in using the latter files in VS but only by converting to MP3. I don't want to part with this very handy camera so am I missing something in that perhaps I can change some setting to enable Corel to recognise .AVI files? I don't want to have to use the editing suite which came with my Traveller camera. I have found it is easy to load via Picasa - which accepts many formats - but it's when I come to insert media file to the VS library that the trouble starts - obviously because the files are .AVI.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 50 inch 1080p TV and a media player that can play almost any format. I have VideoStudio X3 and a decent core2 PC running XP. I have a few 1 hour each video files that I captured from my sony SD camcorder few years back using Firewire. These video files are like 25GB each and not high def.
Now I have edited some of these video files but I am not sure what is the best format to use when creating video file to watch it on my HDTV. I don't need to burn disks or re-edit the files once I am done editing one time.
I have tried custom MPEG2 with 8000 bit rate and 100% quality and it looks okay but grainy on my HDTV. I tried avchd/Blu-ray and they look much smoother on HDTV however they are a bit soft and dull in colors and not as sharp as custom mpeg2.
There are so many formats like DVD mpeg2/AVCHD/HDV/Blu-ray with mpeg2 or h.264 and videostudio help did not do a good job explaining them So I would hope experts here would guide me what best quality format should I pick for these SD videos so that they look nice on my HDTV. Would picking aspect ration to 16:9 make any difference for these sd video?
I am sure when I buy an HD camcorder I would have better options to keep picture quality great.
PSPro X XP Home. The clone brush stopped working, I restored PSPro to its default state. Now I only have about half of a working screen with loads of folders showing below still not being able to use the clone brush.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently reinstalled Windows and PSP. In the organizer, the cataloging doesn't seem to be working - at least from a tag standpoint.
My photos have tags on them and windows explorer sees all the tags but the tag list that is in the organizer only sees ones that I update with existing tags or add new tags to them. It does not seem to catalog the existing tags on photos.
On the Manage page. Either in Thumbnail mode or Preview Mode I get no images.In Organiser at the bottom all I get is a row of light grey boxes with a X in it and the filename beneath but no picture.
I have associated all file types with PSP although that should not be necessary to get a thumbnail image as I tried the trial version before buying version X4 and it worked as expected.
When I produce a MP4 video file in X4 it shows a thumbnail in the video file. I cannot figure out where this image comes from. It seems sometime to be the first video image from all tracks, but sometimes it is just the upper video track and sometimes it is a picture from a later point of the video. How does it work? And how can I control which image is used?

Also when returning to organizer, the program doesn't remember where in the folder it was browsing and opens at the TOP of the list. Can Organizer stay running in the background? It can be slow on older machines. Good thing for fast RAM and CPU.
All my pictures are in folders by date, not by events...! How can I create virtual folders (like albums in PSP) to group photos from same occasion but from different folders?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt has to do with the organizer. I use my desktop for dropping photos too temporarily then delete them. My organizer is always left viewing that at the bottom of the X4 UI. When I delete those photos it still shows their placeholder when I hope X4 again and it freezes. As if its trying to find them and can't so it just stops. I can obviously work around that... somehow I'm sure. But anyway to stop it form doing that? ( I tested it by putting back all the photos it was trying to find. Opened right up without any hesitation.)

I use PSP X2 ultimate. I cannot find the palette mode organizer. I am having to use the document organizer which I do not like as well. I have tried the "View" tab and I have the organizer on and I have also switched to "Palette Organizer" but the only one that works is the "Document Organizer" I tried the Palette tab in the upper right corner and have it detonated to organizer and that doesn't work either. is my palette organizer gone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe organizer has suddenly become unstable. When I try and open PSPX3, the organizer shows the spinning blue circle, and that just stays there forever. At the top of the program it says "not responding". I have to force the program closed. I've had PSPX3 for about six months, haven't had any problems before.
Is there something like a main thumbnail catalog file that can be deleted, so that that PXPX3 will rescan the hard drive. It acts like that catalog has become corrupt.
I haven't installed any patches in the last six months, and I can't tell you what version I have, because the program won't open.
Running Windows 7, 64 bit.
I recently installed PaintShop Pro X6 and started playing with it. Somehow I ended up with a bunch of pictures in my Organizer Palette. (I don't know how.) How do I empty it? I opened some pictures after these initial ones were in there and they DIDN'T show up in the Organizer Palette.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a several dozen shots, Quicktime ProRes 422 HQ. When I try to import them into Premiere CS6 all the arrives in the bin is the audio of the clips. The video has been stripped. But if I play the clips outside Premiere - just double click them open and play them with Windows Media Player, they play fine.
I'm not having trouble with any other formats.
Just the ProRes. And I must have the necessary Quicktime ProRes plug-in installed, as the individual clips open and play fine.
While working with some photos taken this summer, I noticed a strange issue where Organizer is sorting pictures by Date (using Date Created/Oldest) and showing a few pictures at the top under the correct date section (for example July 19th 2011), but then breaks to a new date section indicating July 28th 2011, in which the rest of the pictures in the folder are displaying - even though these pictures are still all from July 19th.

In Manage, when I drag photos to a Tab I created in my Organizer Palette it always opens that tab rather than staying on the screen where I'm browsing pics and choosing. Is there a way to make it stop jumping to that Tab when I drag something to it? X4.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have found, that when setting up the Organizer in the Edit workspace, which then has a number of images displayed, if I close PSP, and remove an image using Windows Explorer in the folder that the Organizer had displayed, that when restarting PSP, it freezes immediately after loading.
As I have the Edit workspace set to open first, and because the Organizer was displayed when closed down, it tries to open it with the missing images displayed as gray boxes, and every option in the program locked.
Because it locks immediately, it doesn't allow any changes to fix this problem. The only way to close it is the windows task manager, End Process. So consequently, the only way to access the program is to either uninstall and re-install, or find the original image with the same file name and copy it back to that folder, so that it matches what PSP has displayed for that folder.
Not sure this is a bug, that PSP, when loading, doesn't recognize the changes within the folder it is displaying by the Organizer, or a problem that has a fix?
I generally have ½ a dozen graphics minimized in the full editor where they dock from the bottom left by default. When switching to the Organizer and back to Full Editor the minimized graphics have moved to a position relative to the top of the Organizer’s lower view panel. This generally leaves the minimized graphic’s behind the currently open graphic.
I see no way to lock the minimized graphics and the only work around is to manually dock them at the top of the Full Editor’s workspace, which is a time consuming hassle.
I've noticed a quirk in X3 Organizer space. With file tree open on the LEFT, and sub-folders open (or expanded), clicking an image thumbnail and dropping on a subfolder (to move it there) causes the sub-folder tree to close up. In order to browse the subfolders again, the user must click the + symbol to expand the subfolder tree. This happens every time. The subfolder tree structure should NOT roll-up after dropping an image on a subfolder.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a Nikon D7000 and shooting in RAW format. Recently, I took some time exposures of Niagara Falls at night, to capture the colors and the lighting on the falls.
When I view the files in the media tray, everything looks alright. However, if I select a photograph to look at more closely, , some sort of automatic brightness adjustment is taking place which brightens my foreground and washes out the color on the main part of my image. This process changes the histogram of the photo. When I move to Express Lab or Full Editor and choose "Smart Photo Fix", and reset various settings to "Original", it doesn't bring the photo back to its original appearance, so clearly there are other settings that have been automatically adjusted as well.
I've looked into the Preferences menus, but can't find anything that will turn off this automatic adjustment process.
Is there a way to have the thumbnail display on the bottom of the Organizer screen use a vertical scroll bar on the far right instead of the horizontal scroll bar below? Or, can I enlarge the size of the thumbnail display area without enlarging the size of the thumbnails? (Which means, I suppose, being able to specify what size I want the thumbnails displayed.)

According to Diane, in Organizer View, a General Information Panel should be displayed on the right.
My view does not display the panel.
I seem to have a ( ongoing) or a series of problems trying to create a video from still Photos or a video that I take with my little Sony cyber shot camera. I believe that the entire problem is the file extensions. I get UDF,MOFF,MP4 to name a few.
MY Camera produces MP-4 photos I download them as such do I have to change or convert them? I tried to convert some to wmv but that did not work . I get a message that windows photo viewer may not be working and could need an update if that is needed where would I get that? I need to know what has to be done . I use corel video studio x5 and also corel paintshop pro x4.on windows 7.0.
I have used a program called mp3tag a little bit for music. Any tag editor like this for photos or video? I'm not very familiar with PSP X3, I know it can batch edit photos, but I was thinking that is different.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have PSP X3...we are having a family reunion, and decided to create a DVD slideshow of past and present family members to show on a TV screen. The idea was to use a DVD player to play the slideshow, and hopefully be able to give out DVDs of the slideshow to family members at the reunion.
We have been able to create the slideshows using Project Creator: the slideshow consists of typical jpg files scanned using a typical scanner/printer of old photographs. The slideshow is a default .AVI container, which all 3 DVD players we have tried to use state they support AVI. However, none of the DVD players have been able to play the slideshow, saying "disc error", or "disc is not compatible for playing or recording".
My question is, do we need to use the actual Corel PSP X3 program, in order to make the slideshow work? We are able to connect a laptop to a widescreen TV for showing at the reunion, but this would kill our ability to hand out DVDs of the slideshow to family members, as they would 1) need a PC, and 2) need Corel PSP X3 in order to make the slideshow play.
Surely there should be a way to make the video play for typical DVD player support. We have used a Sony, Panasonic, and a Memorex DVD player, with the 1st two options being fairly new, DVR devices.
In X5 (not in X4) when double-clicking on a thumbnail in the Organizer pallet, the BLACK control panel at the bottom appears, but the image is either Not There, or the entire screen is a Scrambled Mess! Sometimes (like in the morning after boot-up) it's ok, but other times (like in the evening) there is dysfunction and corruption. I'm wondering if X5 has a memory leak or problem? as I got a Blue Screen last night.
